Description: Remus gets really loopy after a surgery.
Story:
Sirius had been waiting outside of Remus's room at St. Mungos for hours. The moon last night had messed things up inside of Remus bad. His hip had been dislocated in the transformation into the wolf, so he'd laid in one spot whimpering the whole night. The transformation back into a man was wonky because of his hip and some internal organs had ended up in the wrong spot.
Sirius had been worried sick all night, trying to formulate a plan on how to call for help in the morning, but it had ended up being much worse than he'd anticipated.
As soon as it was safe to, Sirius had transformed and sent an urgent owl to the Potter residence and James and Lily had shown up not ten minutes later. Sirius had to accio the first aid kit because he hadn't dared to move from Remus, who was spitting up blood and in quite a lot of pain. The Potters had left Harry with the Longbottoms' and helped Sirius get Remus to St. Mungos, blaming the damage on a nasty fight with a Death Eater.
They'd rushed him into an emergency surgery, leaving the other three in the waiting room. After rearranging his organs back in the right order with a bit of crafty magic, they cracked his hip back into place and gave him a few potions and orders of bed rest for the rest of the day.
Sirius was able to visit him in his hospital bed, but he was still under the sleeping draught they gave him.
The next day, Remus was ready to go home. It was remarkable recovery time for such an intense surgery, but quite typical for St. Mungos's standards.
They warned Sirius before they left that Remus was to be taking it easy for the next little while. He should try to stay off his feet as much as possible and he would be quite out of it for the next day or so as they took him off of the magical anesthesia.
James and Lily helped Sirius bring Remus back to their cottage and settled him down on their bed so he could rest. James levitated the telly into their room while Lily helped get him settled.
"Do you wanna watch telly?" Sirius asked Remus once James and Lily left.
Remus brought his hand up to rub his eye but ended up smacking himself instead. "Ow," he groaned, giving his hand a betrayed look. "I can't believe you've done this."
Sirius tried to keep his giggles under wraps. "Don't get mad at your hand, it's you whose done it," Sirius said.
"Meeeeeee?" Remus asked, looked shocked. "Blimey, didn't know that!"
"Well yeah, I've just told you," Sirius said, playing along because why not? This was hilarious!
"So do you wanna watch telly?" Sirius asked again.
Remus thought about it. "Can we watch the one program where...where the...you know, the one? Yeah that one."
Sirius nodded, though he hadn't a single clue what the heck Remus was talking about. He flicked on the telly and stopped on the muggle weather station.
Remus nodded and settled in, watching with rapt attention. It was a few minutes later when he realized that this wasn't 'that one' show that he wanted to watch.
"What sorcery is this?" He asked, giving Sirius a side eye. "Not the show!"
Sirius changed the channel and noticed that Remus was giving him an awed look. "What?" He asked.
"How-how'd you do that?! Are you some kinda...some kinda wizard?"
"Forgotten how the telly works already, have you?" Sirius muttered, shaking his head with a smile.
Remus was no longer concerned with the telly and instead spent his time examining the embroidered pattern on the duvet. He traced it as long as his arm would reach and then traced it back. He was entirely absorbed, so Sirius snuck out of the room to make him a smoothie. He grabbed a towel on his way up, he had a feeling the smoothie would not entirely end up in his boyfriend's mouth.
"Rey, I've made you a smoothie," he said, walking back into the room. Remus was crying.
"Whoa, hey whassa matter?" Sirius asked, setting the smoothie on the bedside table and crawling up next to Remus. Remus tried to wipe the tears away, but poked himself in the eye instead, which made him cry harder.
"Your hands are doing more harm than good, love, keep them away from your face maybe," Sirius suggested.
"I thought you left me forever," Remus blubbered, sniffling as Sirius pulled him into his arms.
Sirius had been gone for two to three minutes tops. "Aw, I wouldn't leave you, Moony. Don't need to worry."
Remus accepted his answer and stopped crying. "Do you want a smoothie?" Sirius asked. Remus nodded and made grabby hands.
Sirius draped the towel over him and grabbed the smoothie. He had to help Remus get the straw in his mouth.
Remus apparently forgot how to work a straw, because he started blowing smoothie bubbles that quickly overflowed out of the full glass and onto the towel. "Oooooh shit," Remus muttered.
Sirius laughed and told him how to drink it properly and so he gave it a try. "Ah cold," he said, and the smoothie dribbled out of his mouth and all over the towel. Sirius patted himself on the back for thinking to grab it.
"Yeah, cold," Sirius agreed, coaching him to take smaller sips.
The next morning, Remus woke up with a headache. He looked over at the disaster that was their bedroom and saw that Sirius was sleeping on the floor. "What?" He muttered to himself.
"Sirius. Sirius! Hey, Sirius!" He said, resorting to throwing his pillow at his boyfriend. Sirius startled awake.
"Oh, hey Moony."
"What the hell happened?" He asked.
Sirius gave him a wicked grin. "Let's just say that yesterday you were Mr. Loopy Lupin."
