Description: At a dinner with the Weasleys, Sirius ends up asking Molly for some advice about Remus.
Story:
It was the summer before seventh year in 1977, that Sirius and Remus were invited over to the Weasley household for dinner. Remus had no idea why they were invited all the way to Ottery St. Catchpole for dinner with a young growing family that they hardly even knew. It had been a fair few years since Arthur and Molly had graduate, almost ten to be exact.

Sirius did know why they were invited though. James had set it up, for he knew how desperate Sirius was for relationship advice, and everyone knew that Molly Weasley was the one to call.

Sirius and Remus had arrived at the Burrow right before supper was on the table. Sirius rapped his fist on the flimsy screen door and they could hear the shrieks of children playing inside.

The door was opened by the Weasley's oldest, Bill, who was seven years old. "Hi!" He said.

Remus smiled and waved. "Come on in!" Arthur Weasley yelled from inside the house, coming into view holding baby Percy, a year old. Five year old Charlie ran around his feet with his stuffed dragon, making dragon noises and pretending to breathe fire.

"Don't mind the chaos," Arthur grinned at the two of them, patting each on the back as he ushered them towards the crowded kitchen table. "Right than, take a seat, take a seat."

He set Percy down in his highchair and told the boys to sit in their seats. Sirius and Remus shared smiles, though Sirius didn't know what to think of the red haired baby. He didn't really know what to think of babies in general, really. They were just helpless little blobs of skin that pooped and cried.

And then Molly came into view, carrying a big pan of casserole that smelled delicious. They enjoyed their meal, Arthur and Molly both striking up conversation with the two teenagers, occasionally helping Percy eat his food or else scolding one of the older boys for not using a napkin.

After they were done eating, Remus went to help with dishes and Sirius was about to follow when Molly tapped his elbow and motioned him outside. The two stood on the porch for a few minutes in silence, looking out onto the fields and setting sun.

Sirius eventually dug a cigarette out of his pocket and held up his wand to light it. He took a puff of it to see Molly glancing over with a calculating look.

He held out the cigarette for her but she shook her head, holding up her hand. "Nah, I shouldn't. I'm pregnant, you know."

Sirius balked, the cigarette falling out of his mouth. He stomped it out. "What? There's another little baby in there?"

Molly nodded, laughing. She looked back out over the lawn. "I want a girl someday, but alas, I've got my boys. Two more on the way, too," she said, holding her stomach which Sirius realized only then that was quite swollen.

"There's two?" He squeaked.

Molly nodded again. "Yeah, due in April. Percy'll be two by that time. But that's not what you came to hear."

Sirius had to gather his thoughts. "Wow, Molly, that's amazing, really, I'm happy for you. But...you're right. I need your help."

She stayed quiet, waiting for him to voice his thoughts.

"It's just...there's this person. And well...I've had a huge crush on this person since like, the end of fourth year, but I don't know if they like me back. And I want to make a move before it's too late, because we'll be graduating soon and--"

"It's Remus, isn't it," Molly interrupted him.

Sirius's mouth gaped open and closed and his face flushed. "Wha-no...how'd you know?"

Molly snickered. "Just watching the two of you at dinner. The way you pulled out his chair for him and stared longingly at him when you thought he wasn't looking. I can tell when someone's in love, Sirius."

Sirius was still shocked, also unsure of how she would react to him being gay. He'd only come out to his close friends so far and he was always so scared that they'd turn on him. Or worse, if more people found out.

Molly shrugged at Sirius's dumbfounded look. "I think you two would be cute together," she said.

Sirius gulped. "Thanks?"

"So you want to know how to get his attention, aye?"

Sirius nodded. Molly snickered. "Well we can skip that step because you've already got his attention. He's been ogling you almost as much."

Sirius gaped. "Wait, seriously?" He was too surprised to make the joke about his name.

Molly nodded. "Oh yeah. Playing footsie under the table. Brushing your hair out of your face for you. Darling, you've already got his attention."

Sirius blushed, he'd forgotten about playing footsie. The more he thought about what Molly was saying, the more he realized that whenever he cautiously flirted with Remus, he would flirt right back. Sure, we would often blush or be nervous, but it was still Remus flirting with him. He felt stupid for not realizing it sooner.

"So what should I do?" Sirius asked.

Molly bit her lip, thinking. "Well, he seems like the humble type. I'd say don't do anything crazy. Something sweet and more down to Earth to show him that you care. I think that would get to his heart the quickest. Just--organize a time where the two of you are together and do something nice and ask him out. That's my advice."

Sirius thought about it, a plan already half formed in his head. "And you're sure? You're positive he's into me?"

Molly nodded. "I'm positive Sirius. Just be honest and be yourself and you'll do just fine."

Sirius nodded to himself, then hugged Molly. "Thank you."

Molly smiled, patting Sirius on the back. "Not a problem, not a problem. Come to me for advice whenever you need it, you hear?"

Sirius grinned. "I will."
