Baby Harry

AU: Sirius never went to Azkaban. Let's not hurt my heart anymore, yeah? My little Wolfstar heart can't take it.

Also. Quick note. I can't believe I wrote this. Forgive me. I didn't really reread this over. I'm very tired. It's about 1.2k words... Sorry in advance. Oh, and sorry for starting off with angst. I think my writing in angst may be better compared to fluff...

Warnings: Angst, mentions of close ones'/friends' death, death

It had been 4 months since Halloween. Since October 31. Since the day James and Lily gave up their lives for their loved ones. Peter had been thrown into Azkaban after confessing that he gave up Lily and James's position in Godric's Hollow to Voldemort. Since then, Sirius, being Harry's godfather, took in Harry as one of his own. Of course, Remus decided he would do the same with his boyfriend. Using the Black family's fortune, Sirius bought a house to live in with Harry and Remus. It was not too huge, but it was not too tiny either. However, Sirius didn't really care about the size, as long as the three of them were together and happy.

Raising Harry was definitely not easy for Sirius or Remus. There was so much to worry about, including Voldemort himself. Sirius didn't know what the future would hold for Harry, but he planned on defending Remus and Harry with his life no matter what.

"I didn't know taking care of a baby could be so exhausting," Sirius would complain at the end of the day, lying on the couch, leaning on the werewolf. "How come you're coping so well?"

"I don't know," Remus would respond, "Maybe because I've been friends with you since first year? I must be used to it."

Sirius would pout and Remus would just smile back at him.  Sirius and Remus both tried their best to cope with their losses, but it was not easy at all.

Sirius was tossing Harry up in the air and catching him, while Remus was sitting on the couch, making him anxious. He closed his book quickly and frowned.

"You're going to drop him!" Remus's eyes were wide.

"Nonsense," Sirius replied, not taking his eyes off of Harry and throwing him up into the air again, only to catch him. Harry giggled. "See? I know what I'm doing."

"This is exactly why my hair is already turning gray," Remus frowned. He watched both Sirius and Harry for a while, and decided that Harry was okay. Smiling at the two that he cared about so much, he continued to read his book. He could hear the laughter from Sirius and Harry in the background and smiled at the sound.

After a minute or two, the laughter stopped. Remus had not even noticed the end of laughter. He could still see Sirius standing there with Harry in his hands in his peripheral vision, so he figured he was just taking a breather. He continued reading his book, yet kept a close eye on his boyfriend and Harry. He quickly closed his book and looked up back at them when he heard quiet sobbing.

Sirius held Harry in his hands and stared at him, still standing, and started to quietly cry. Harry was staring back at him, eyes wide. He still hadn't gotten over James and Lily's death, and the sadness was eating at him. He tried hard not to think too much about it, he tried hard to stay strong for Remus and Harry. But...

"He looks so much like him," Sirius said in such a hushed tone that Remus could barely hear him. Sirius eyed Harry's lightning scar. "Except for that curse he has on his forehead."

Remus stood up and wrapped his arms around Sirius, lying his chin on top of his head. "Oh, Sirius.. I know.."

"And his eyes... I look into his eyes and it's like Lily's staring right back at me," Sirius's voice cracked.

     "Sirius..."

Sirius hugged Harry quickly and then plopped down on the couch, Remus doing the same. Remus held his arms out for Sirius to hug him, and he did so. Still holding onto Harry, Sirius cried loudly into Remus's chest. Remus rubbed his back slowly and kissed his forhead. Harry started to cry.

"I know, Sirius... I miss them, too..." Tears started to fall down Remus's face as well as he started to think of his two close friends.

They sat there for what felt like twenty minutes. None of them had stopped crying.

"We don't know how to do this," Sirius spoke up. "I don't know how we're going to do this."

"I know, love," Remus frowned, "I know." He hated seeing Sirius upset. He hated seeing Harry cry. He hated that he had lost two of his best friends. "We'll get through this. It'll be hard, but we're strong," Remus tried his best to comfort Sirius.

Sirius went silent for a minute. "You really think so?" He sniffed and looked up at his boyfriend.

"Yeah," Remus sadly smiled at Sirius. He cupped Sirius's face in his hands and wiped away his tears. He placed a gentle kiss on his forehead.

Sirius weakly smiled sadly back at him, but then instantly went back to frowning, and buried his head in Remus's chest again as Remus held him. Sirius looked down at Harry, seeing that he was still crying. He bobbed him up and down slightly and shushed him quietly to try and stop him from crying. However, Harry continued to cry.

     "I miss them so much."

     "Me too, love."

"I'm sorry."

"You have nothing to be sorry about."

     "I-"

Remus shushed him. "We won't be alone." He weakly smiled.

Sirius stayed silent for a few moments. "Promise? Promise the three of us will always be together?"

     "I promise."

Here's a little bonus. And by bonus I mean more angst. Skip to about 14 years later...

"SIRIUS! SIRIUS!" Harry cried out for his godfather who had just been struck by Bellatrix and fell into the veil. Harry tried to reach out for Sirius, but was being held back by Remus.

"Harry, no!" Remus choked out a few words in between his sobs. "He's gone, Harry!" The words that just came out of Remus's mouth stabbed at his heart like knives. He refused to lose both Sirius and Harry in one night. This is just a nightmare. A very horrible nightmare. He would wake up soon. He couldn't believe that his husband, his Padfoot, his Sirius was-

"HE'S NOT DEAD!" Harry cried. He continued to call for Sirius to come back. Remus really wanted to believe this, too, he wanted to believe Sirius was okay so badly, but, he knew it couldn't be true..

Bellatrix made a run for it. Remus, being distracted, let Harry slip out of his grip and chase after her. He was much too tired to chase after him.

He had promised. He had promised to Sirius many years ago that he, Sirius, and Harry would always be together. He hadn't been able to hold that promise. He should've looked out for him. He should've fought right beside him. He should've saved him.... He should've..... He should've....

Remus started to sob loudly and fell down on his knees. He tuned out the fighting going on around him, and cried. He broke the promise. He broke his promise.

And there was nothing he could do about it.

Did I go too far? I think I went too far. I'm sorry. I'll try to write more fluffy chapters... I feel really bad for writing this! Tell me if you enjoyed it, though! I mean, writing wise. Sorry if I broke your heart.
