Sirius and Remus had been dating for a long time, and they loved going out to dinner together. Every time they went to a new resturaunt together, Sirius would do his favorite tradition with Remus. Sirius would pretend to propose to Remus. He did it because they always got free food afterwards. One night was different, though. This time, he was proposing for real. He made sure that James and Lily were seated across the resturaunt so that Remus would never see them, and held the ring tightly in his hand for the whole meal. At the end, just before the check came, he began the same ritual he performed every time they ate at a new resturaunt. He got down on one knee.
"Remus John Lupin, I love you with all of my heart, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I know what you're thinking, 'oh, Sirius, he always pulls this prank. It's a real funny joke.' But this time, I'm not pretending. I swear on my own life, that this is the real deal. So, will you marry me?" Remus looked at Sirius, a shocked expression on his face.
"Sirius? Are you being 100% honest right now? This isn't a joke?"
"No. I promise that this is not a joke. I love you so much, and you are the man I want to marry."
Remus' expression changed from shocked to elated.
"Yes I'll marry you, you great big idiot. I love you!" And as soon as those words were spoken, Remus was swept off of his feet in a tight embrace from his fiance. A ring was slipped onto his finger, and Lily was crying into James' shoulder. The group left the resturaunt, and Sirius vowed to Remus that it was the last time he would ever propose to anyone, including Remus.
