Sirius Black paced his dormitory on Valentines day of his seventh year of Hogwarts. James Potter, his best mate, walked into the room and started laughing hysterically.

"Why are you laughing?!?!" Sirius screamed at James. Sirius was about to propose to the love of his life, Remus Lupin. 

"You're just so phsyched out! It's funny to see Sirius Black, famous for being indifferent, nervous beyond his wit." James teased his best friend of 7 years and laughed as crimson crept up his mate's face. 

"Ugh. I'm so scared! What if he says no? I can't stand to even think of it!" Sirius was on the verge of tears amd James patted him on the back and smirked at how much his friend cared, which was completely out of character. 

"Okay mate. Ready to get engaged?" James asked calmly.

"Not really, but I don't exactly have a choice." Sirius took a deep breath and grabbed the small box that held the simple ring with the engraving "A wolf and a dog." Sirius and James made their way to the main doors at the front of the castle, and Sirius pushed one open a bit to look down the front lawn at the Black Lake, where Remus was standing, unsuspecting, chatting with Lily. Sirius opened the door bravely, and took one last deep breath before stepping onto the steps in the front of the castle. Lily noticed him, and waved, signaling to Remus that he should look behind him to where Sirius was standing.

Remus smiled and blushed as he saw how excited James and Lily looked. Sirius walked purposefully down the front lawn, and stopped at the tree that Lily and Remus were standing under. He smiled, and dove into the speech that he had prepared.

"Remus John Lupin, you are the love of my life, and the only person I ever want to be with. I love you to the ends of the earth, and I need you to survive. I love the way you look at me, and I even love those full moon nights we spend together, because in those moments, I know you need me just as much as I need you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, so, will you marry me?" Remus was tearing up by the end of the speech, and as soon as Sirius stopped speaking he threw himself onto his soon to be fiance and whispered "Yes. A million times yes."

Remus and Sirius were both tearing up, and Lily was flat out sobbing. James hugged her with the biggest grin on his face. 

"We are defintely a happy group." James stated plainly.
