Chapter Three

Helen left one hour ago and I must say that girl can talk! I had to make a bunch of excuses and had to literally push her out the door.

During that one hour, I had unpacked half my things and did a bit looking around.

Till now I had discovered that there were two rooms with a desk and chair in each of them. Each bedroom had their own bathroom attached to them and there was a medium sized closet.

The only difference between the two rooms was that one bed was a queen bed while the other was a double bed. I, of course, took the one with the queen bed.

There was a living room which consisted of a flat screen TV attached to the wall and three couches. Then there was the kitchen. It was actually the only room that surprised me the most. It was huge! I am not kidding.

A total waste of space I must say! I mean why someone would need such a big kitchen is a big mystery to me. It looks like the size of the bedrooms.

I was currently standing on the balcony looking at the city lights. I would have preferred if the balcony was overlooking the forest but you can't be too choosy now.

I was enjoying the peaceful sound of the dorm. My roommate hasn't reached yet so I'm making the best of it while I still can.

It was currently 9:00 pm clock on the dot. 3 more hours till orientation day. Tomorrow was orientation day. The students would be given a tour of the university and be told about all the rules. At night there was a party that everybody had to attend. It was taking place so that all of us could socialize and make new friends.

I was suddenly broken out of my thoughts when I heard the rattling of keys and loud laughter. Oh boy, just what I needed a loud roommate. I walked into the living waiting for my roommate to come in.

The door finally opened just to see three guys all laughing loudly, but stopped the moment they saw me. They stared at me as if they hadn't seen a human before. The one in the middle stood out the most. He was staring at me as if he couldn't believe his eyes. He had this look in his face as a kid has in a chocolate factory.

If you looked at physical features you would think they all just came out of the magazines.

Literally.

The two guys beside the chocolate factory guy looked surprised like they didn't expect me. Well nor did I. I was expecting a girl, not three boys.

There was silence in the air. Awkward silence. Nobody said anything. We all just at each other but of course somebody had to break the awkward silence, and that somebody would be the guy on the left.

"Who are you?"

"I am Ashley," I said with an air of  confidence that just seemed to appear out of nowhere. I could feel my face heating up and I prayed inwardly, hoping for them to not comment on it.

They all chuckled at my response. A smile appearing on all of their faces except the guy in the middle who had a smirk on his face. What was so funny? 

"No what Keith meant was what are you doing in Leon's dorm," the guy on the right said making a blush creep its way onto my cheeks. Luckily it was kind of dark where I stood. So that was what they were laughing about. I felt so stupid at the moment.

"Um well this is kind of my dorm," I said. 

"Okay, that's really funny now what are you really doing here? Are you Leon's roommate girlfriend?"

"I don't know what you are talking about but I know this definitely my dorm."

"Quit with the jokes girly now answer the damn question. Why are you really here," the guy on the left said. The smile that was originally on his face was slowly disappearing. Suddenly I felt a sense of fear settle into my stomach but that I also got angry. How dare he come into my dorm and ask me what I was doing here?

"Listen here and listen good, this is my dorm" I spelled out slowly to him, "I don't know about you but your friend Leon must have got the wrong key. I was given this dorm by the headmaster. There is no way he is my roommate. If you read the rules for the dorms you would know that boys and girls cannot live in the same dorm."

There was complete silence after that. Then finally Leon said something for the first time since they came here "Well there is nothing we can do now. I mean we were the last people to come here and there are no more dorms left."

This guy sure had a deep voice. I looked at Leon and thought maybe just maybe I could adjust to living with him.

"Actually-" Keith started to say but got cut off by Leon's intense stare. It was as if they were talking to each other in their minds and seemed to understand everything. Even the guy on the right seemed more relaxed now...

"Well, Jake are you not going apologise to my roommate?" the way Leon said 'my roommate' brought an involuntary shiver down my spine.

What the heck is wrong with me today?

"Sorry Ashley," Jake muttered. Even though I couldn't hear him clearly I still felt like I needed to forgive him.

I didn't know what to say in response to that so I thought of the best solution to get out of this situation.

"Well it was nice meeting you all but I don't know about you but I'm super tired and am going to bed. So goodnight."

"Goodnight," Jake replied quickly, seeming happy that I was going.

"Sleep tight," Leon said making me smile unintentionally.

"Don't let the monsters kidnap you in your sleep," Keith said making us all stare at him.

"What?" He asked looking at all of us confused.

"Nothing," we all muttered and went our separate ways.

As I walked to my bedroom I felt someone stare on my back. I looked behind me to see Leon staring at me with a dark look that I couldn't recognize. When he saw me staring at him the corner of his lips turned a little upwards as if the silent gesture held meaning to it.

Before I could think any more about it I had reached my room. I quickly brushed my teeth and changed into my pajamas. I walked to my bed and got into the covers. I could hear the boys or should I say men bringing saying their goodbyes.

Slowly I could feel my mind slowly falling asleep and just when I was asleep I was interrupted by my cell phone. Without looking at the caller ID I picked it up.

"Why haven't you called young lady?" my mom shouted across the phone.

Oh boy, I forgot to call my mom. I am in some deep trouble!
