After Night told me that she was carrying Claw's pups I started my way home. Grrrrr. Wow I'm hungry. I just realized that I hadn't eaten since I caught that mouse near the river. I started to walk quieter and listened for any woodland creatures. I heard none and my stomach growled louder in hunger.  

I know, I know, your hungry. I thought angrily to my belly. I kept walking. Grrrrr.  Well I can't hunt if you keep scaring off all of the prey. I thought as I reached the tree where I hid extra clothes for when I changed back to human form. I reached in with my paw and felt the bag. I pulled it out, careful not to rip the bag or the clothes. I picked the bag up in my mouth and walked behind a bush to change. 

After I changed and got dressed I walked out and put the bag back in the whole at the base of the tree. Crinkle. That was what I heard as I crammed the bag in the hole. I pulled the bag back out to find a wrinkled piece of paper. I reached in and grabbed the paper and opened it. It said:

"Kayla, if you are reading this then I guessed the clothes storage spot right. I just left a note to let you know that the pack said yes they would attend our meeting. I will be waiting at you house to discuss the details. I also have decided to tell you something very important. Don't start to worry its nothing bad. Its really good news actually. Just hurry and get home.                                        Signed your best friend and hopefully your lifelong mate, Jake."

I looked at the last few words confused but excited. If a male Print wolf has a tattoo of you name in our language  then he wants to be your mate. The female has to then tell him that she chooses him as her mate and the first full moon after the female turns eighteen they will shift together and become mates for life. If the female does not choose that male as her mate then the female continues the search for a mate, but the male does not get to choose another mate he has to live a life of loneliness and solitude. I felt so excited and I hoped with all of my heart that that was what he wanted to tell me. For a few seconds I imagined Jake's shiny black hair and his silver blue eyes  staring back at me during the mate shift. His strong arms wrapped around me hugging me tight. His strong but gently hands rubbing my back, calming me as we waited for the time to shift. I shook my head to clear the fantasy. I folded the paper up and slid it into my pocket. After pushing the bag back into the whole I stood up and started walking back home. 

As I walked out of the wood, Jake ran to me and hugged me so tight I could barely breath. He let go of me grabbed my arms very tightly. He said in a worried voice, "Where have you been? You should have been back ages ago. I've been worried sick about you. I was about to call the Cops!" I could tell he was angry but he was mainly worried. 

"I'm fine I just ran into some.....problems."

"What, are you hurt?" He said scanning my body for any injuries, not waiting for a reply. 

"No, I wan't hurt I'll tell you everything just as soon as you tell me about this." I said pulling the letter out of my pocket. And to my surprise he started blushing. 

"That..um. that is...uh."he kept stuttering not able to get any words out.

"Calm down." I said laughing, he started to blush.  Gosh, was he cute when he blushed. And as if he could hear my thoughts he started to blush more. "Well are you going to tell me or are we just going to stand here?" 

Sighing he pulled down the top of his shirt, and I saw a name printed there. "Well who's name is it?" I asked mischievously. 

"Really? You haven't figured it out yet." Without waiting for a response he pulled my lips to his. The kiss was so full of passion and hunger. I felt his arms wrap around me and pulled my body up to his. We pulled apart and I immediately wanted him to pull me in for another kiss. "Do you know who it is now, Kayla?" He said smiling that sexy smile that I've always loved. "Kayla I have declared you as my mate and I hope that you declare me as yours."
