I continued to work on breakfast while Chase watched. Once I finished we sat at the island and ate in silence. No an uncomfortable silence but a comfortable friendly silence. After we finished I took the plates and silverware to the sink and started washing the dishes so my parents won't have to when they get back. I still felt his gaze on me the entire time, still as intense as before. While I was doing dishes I was thinking about what he said about being his forever. I turn to him once I finish the dishes and sit across from him and cross my arms on the island. 

"What?" He says raising an eyebrow, showing that he was concerned. 

"We need to talk....." I hesitate before continuing, "about what you said earlier."

"Have you come with an answer?" He said lowering his eyebrow and staring into my eyes.

"No...." Is all I say. I can tell it's like torture to him waiting but I can't say it. 

"Well, then what is it?" He said, raising his eyebrow again. 

"I don't know..." I said lowering my head breaking our gaze. 

"Then what are we going to talk about?" He asks raising my chin to face him. I look into his eyes and see nothing but compassion and love. "Maya. You can wait all you want I'm not going anywhere." He said with love and started to lean in for a kiss but a knock at the door made him freeze. He watched me to see if I would ignore it or go answer it. When I didn't move he started to move again but another knock stopped him and he sighed and backed away. "Go answer it." He said knowing they wouldn't go away. I stood up and walked to the front door. I groaned when I caught his scent. I was still very much pissed at him. 

I opened the door and groaned more when he smiled like nothing happened. I leaned against the door frame, crossed my arms over my chest and said, "What do you want Jake?" I didn't even try to stop the sarcasm from slipping trough my lips. 

"I just wanted to see if your alright." He said his smile turning to a frown from the tone of my voice. 

My blood boiled when he said that and my response was, "To see if I was okay?!?! What about Chase! Or did you forget that you almost killed him last night!!!" I yelled my anger clearly showing. He lowered his head. "What? Can't even look at me?!!? Have you got nothing to say to  explain yourself?!?!?!" He raised his head and looked past me and glared. I didn't have time to look behind me before an arm fell around my shoulder. I looked at the arm, knowing that Chase had come to the door. I looked up at him. He was glaring right back at Jake. 

He glanced down at me and his eyes softened and he smiled before turning back to Jake. He took a step toward Jake positioning himself between me and Jake. "Leave." He said calmly but full of confidence. 

Jake continued to glare while saying, "No." 

"Jake. Leave. Now. You've hurt her enough." Chase said referring to me. I knew that if Jake refused then they would fight and this time Jake would kill Chase, and I wouldn't be able to stop him.
