The wind was howling once we entered the cave. Some of them blowing past the waterfall barrier. I shivered. Wolves could naturally adapt to the temperature, but humans did not. So if it was really cold then we could get cold. "It's probably a good idea if we share each others heat tonight."

I knew what he was saying. We should sleep together. "Ok." I said trying to hide my happiness and my fear. He grabbed a thick blanket and folded it in half and laid it down on the ground against the back wall. I went to the crates and brought out two pillows and a thinner blanket. I laid each thing out on the thicker blanket. Pillows at the top and the thin blanket in the middle of it all. 

"Is it just me or did we actually do good?" He said teasingly as we stood back to examine our master piece.

"Yeah." He walked towards it and laid down gesturing me to lay next to him. I walked towards him, him smiling the whole time. I laid next to him and laid my head against his chest. I felt the heat from his body touching mine. I looked up at him and kissed him. When I pulled away he had his eye brow raised. 

"What was that for?" He said teasingly. 

"What, I have to have an excuse to kiss you?"

"No." he said chuckling. "But you've never kissed me first. Just wondering why." 

"Maybe I wanted to let you know I love you." He smiled. 

"I love you too." He said while leaning in for another kiss. I pushed forward and kissed him again. We pulled apart and I laid my head against his chest once more enjoying his presence. His chin set on my head and I heard his breaths shallow as he went to sleep. I laid there for what felt like hours listening to his breathing letting the movement of his chest calm me. I drifted off to sleep. 

I woke up alone. Where is Jake!? I thought starting to freak out. "Calm down. I'm right here." I heard the familiar voice say from the side of the cave. I turned my head to find him sitting behind me watching me. "I like to watch you sleep, it's calming and relaxing." I sat up and hugged him. 

"Don't scare me like that. " I said sort of angry at him and myself. "I thought you left me."

"I would never leave you Maya." I sat in his lap my legs wrapped around his back still hugging him.  He hugged me tighter. "Come on, I made breakfast." He said breaking the silence.
