Chapter 10 Moonlit Fun

I hugged him happy that he cared so much about me. After a few moments he pulled his face back, but kept it close to mine. "Why don't we go for a moonlit walk. Just to clear our minds."

"Ooh romantic." I said teasingly.

"Well if you want it to be." He said winking playfully.

"Oh lord help me." I said rolling my eyes. I poked him in the sides playfully, he doubled over laughing, shielding his body preventing me from tickling him. I ran towards the woods. I looked back to see shredded clothing and a big, muscular, jet black wolf racing after me. I jumped in the air and my ripped clothing fell to the ground as I transformed in mid-leap.

I hit the ground on all fours and kept running. I zigzagged between trees trying to shake now Shadow off my trail. When a wolf transforms for the first time they get their 'wolf name' based upon how and what they look like. I heard a determined growl from Shadow. Shaking my thoughts away I tried to think of a plan. Ha, you will never catch me. I thought, hoping Shadow would hear me.  heard another playful growl escape his throat. I heard him speed up. I ran faster to avoid him. At last I heard water bubbling over rocks. I ran towards the sound. A river came into view. I jumped in the water and went down, holding my breath.

When I could hold my breath for no longer I came up. I wadded over to the side and climbed out. My tongue was lolling out of the side of my mouth. I shook the water out of my fur thinking that I lost the black wolf. Grrr. Before I even turned around I was tackled to the ground by Shadow. I hit the ground on my back with Shadow on top. He was smiling his wolfy smile. Even when he was in wolf form, hes still sexy. He raised a wolf eyebrow. How did you find me that fast? He shrugged and climbed off, smiling even more than before. He flicked his tail to indicate for me to follow him. I scrambled up and rushed to his side. We walked side by side, our coats brushing each others, for about a mile or so. Where are we going? I asked him through thought, even though I knew he couldn't answer me directly. He looked at me and smiled. That meant "I'm not telling." I sighed.

He was so stubborn, but I loved that. We continued walking for about another mile. We finally came to a sheer drop off with a waterfall running off of it in the middle. He walked over to the side and pulled back a wall of vines to reveal a path that lead down to the valley. Flicking his tail once more he disappeared behind the vine wall. I rushed to keep up. I gasped at the view of the waterfall. The water rushing down the cliff and into a pond that thinned out into a river that went out of the valley through a crack.
