1-Jerichó
That day Principal Phillips met us in the courtyard and told us that we could go to Jerichó for the day since they were still finishing preparations for classes. It was going to be full of surprises and they wanted everything to be on point. Enid and Ajax smiled a lot, as well as giving each other a kiss while her partner, Wednesday, had the same seriousness as a dead man.
"And remember not to get into trouble," she smiled as she looked at everyone.
We all went by bus, she had to sit next to Wednesday. She was not very talkative, she looked out the window in silence.
—Hey—I started to start a conversation—they told me you saved the academy. That is quite a feat."I was about to die but I managed to survive," she said."It must have been hard facing that Joseph.""Yes, but I managed to pierce his black heart and kill him forever." She seemed to enjoy telling how she killed the man.
We heard a lot of laughter, but above all, we could hear Enid's who was next to Ajax, they didn't stop taking pictures and looking at something on the phone.
"You're looking at Enid a lot," my seatmate commented.-That I?—Yes, I still don't understand that physical attraction that people have"I hardly know her. Wait, haven't you ever been in love?" She looked away from her."Last time...he turned out to be a murderer, a Hyde..."—Wow... I'm sorry—I remembered the story of Hyde and the murders—it had to be hard."It was a pleasure," she said, looking at me, "a bitter torture."
I felt some pity for her.
"I'm sure you'll find someone," I said smiling, "someone to slowly torture each day.""I like the idea," she said, looking at me, "torturing every day."
We both smile.Turning around, it seemed to me that Enid turned quickly, as if she had been watching us.Along the way I was able to establish some friendship with Wednesday, something impossible last year according to my colleagues. She wanted to visit an antique store where there were all kinds of tools from many years ago and in which the young woman was interested.
"I'll accompany you, I don't know the town and so I see strange things," I said smiling."I hope they have a decapitation machine worth looking at.""Man...as much as that..."
Enid appeared with Ajax.
"Where are you guys going?" she asked, smiling."To the antique store, and you?" I looked at both of them."Let's go on a date," Ajax replied."Yes, we'll have coffee and well..." she smiled like a girl."As colorful and vomitous as always," Wednesday's sentence almost makes me laugh.—Anyway, have a good time in the store, we're leaving now—Enid said goodbye to us.
We started the march, I followed the girl because she did not know the way.
—You know, I like you, cold...direct...without beating around the bush—Normally in the face of such virtues people tend to distance themselves from me, I don't care, but it's rare to see that you are different.
She was pointing out the different stores so that I could locate myself next time. The appearance of the store was dark and invited people to leave. We entered and were greeted by a lady with a smile.
"Do you want something?" he asked."I need to see weapons and objects from years ago, especially... torture machines," Wednesday replied in his usual tone."Oh, yesterday we got one from centuries ago!" That was the time I thought I saw Wednesday very happy.
It was a spiked coffin, it looked old but still served. I had a small shudder to imagine a person stuck there. Wednesday touched the spikes and inspected the rest of the apparatus with interest.
"It would serve to torture my brother," she said quietly.
The owner looked at me and I shrugged.
The woman was showing us more modern ones but they were not to Wednesday's liking. She bought some old torture instruments and we left.
"I'm going to the cafeteria, are you coming?" she asked."Yes, but first I want to go to that toy store," I answered."Okay, I'll wait for you there.
The store wasn't too big, but it did have a variety of toys and a section was made by hand, like so long ago. I was amazed with the designs, they were beautiful and very diverse. I bought a small black car.As I left, I heard some voices of laughter. I knew that kind of laugh, someone was in trouble. It was Enid who was being hassled by some guys. She was stained in blue, they had thrown some paint on her and now they were throwing some tomatoes on her.
"Out with the wolf!" one yelled several times.—We don't want you to leave the town full of hair"Why aren't you a good pup and give the paw?" the tone made me angry and I looked everywhere.
She didn't want to do it, she hated it, but she was being harassed. I went to the next alley, leaving the bag and part of my uniform inside before transforming into a big black bear.As I went out and approached them, they widened their eyes in fright. I let out a huge roar that made them run cold and run screaming. Already somewhat calmer, I looked at Enid.
"Are you tn?" I nodded before going back to the alley to get dressed.
She no longer remembered the last time she had used it. I got dressed and was about to leave to go to the cafeteria when I bumped into Enid. She was crying and stained.
—Enid—seeing her like that, all I could do was hug her—that's it, calm down.
She pulled away after a while and apologized for smearing me.
"Calm down, now we're going to clean you up." First of all, I wrote to Wednesday to tell him what had happened.
The clerk at the toy store gave me some rags and something clean for her, I'd just have to give it back when I could.
"Thank you," Enid said, thanking the woman.
We walked towards the cafeteria that was not too far
"And Ajax?"—Well... her friends called her and well... she left"But...you had an appointment" I said surprised.—We always have appointments, I suppose that this time she has decided to go with them.
Looking into her eyes I could see the sadness.
"Now you'll have Wednesday in front of you, the happiest woman in the world." This made him laugh a little."If she listens to you she will kill you" we both laughed.
We got together and went inside. She was alone, having a coffee while she watched through the window. Seeing us arrive, she asked what had happened, Enid told her sadly.
"Do you want me to kill them and bury them in the garden?" she asked very seriously."No!" She said, "it doesn't take that much."I see, if you change your mind let me know.
I treated Enid to a coffee and some colorful pastries that she loved. When bringing it, Wednesday she looked at the colorful food for a few seconds.
"Enid, did you have to order food with so much color? It's vomitous and repulsive," she commented."I like it." She took a bite of her donut.
We spent time there enjoying coffee, pastries and the company. Wednesday told us things that she did as a child, although some were the ones that she closed her stomach. We returned to the academy and when the three of us were already on the stairs, the director stopped us, although she was only talking to me.
"I've heard that you've made quite a fuss," she said, "using your bear transformation to scare the normies... I don't think it was a good idea.""He only defended me!" Enid exclaimed."Miss Sinclair, please lower your tone.-But"Enid, let me do the talking.
I told the whole situation to the director and she was angry at the behavior of said people, that she would talk to her parents, the mayor and the sheriff to solve the problem.
"I understand that it's complicated, but please, be more cautious," she asked, looking at me.-Yes, I will.
She said goodbye to us and we went back to our bedrooms.
Ajax returned after a while, had taken a little alcohol and stumbling a couple of times to lie down on his bed.
"What an afternoon," he said happily, "I haven't had such a good time in a long time."—I see, hey Ajax-Tell me what happens?—Today they rebuked Enid, some normies have thrown some paint and some tomatoes at her—I explained—I scared them with my bear transformation. But it's still kind of sad.
He got worried and looked at me.
—Wow... I appreciate it—he smiled —if I run into them I'll give them a good one. After a while, there was a knock on the door and Ajax opened it."Hello!" he said."You stink of alcohol," the female voice complained, "you drink too much."—It's only been a few drinks, what brings you to my room? Do you want to spend a while here?"No, I'm here to see Tn," she replied, passing by her.I had taken off my helmets, I greeted her.
—I brought you this—he handed me some warm black gloves—there's still a bit left for the cold to arrive but I wanted you to have something so your hands wouldn't freeze.—Thank you!—I adjusted them and they fit me well—where did you buy them? Due to the way they are sewn, they must be worth money—I appreciated every detail.- I have made them"Seriously? They're very successful, you could sell some," I proposed, "I'm sure people would buy them."
The young woman gave a wide smile.
—For the moment I will keep them until the cold arrives.
Enid gave me a big hug.
Then Ajax took her hand to sit on the bed for a while.—I'll leave you alone—I left the room so as not to disturb them.I decided to go visit Wednesday. She opened the door and was as serious as she expected."Hello," I greeted.-I'm writing"Can I stay a while?"-Why?—Enid and Ajax...ahem...are ''busy''-Enters-Thank you so much"I only ask you not to bother me."
He made me play one, he was very good and he was good at it. Wednesday, she wrote, concentrating on her novel. She admired that she was able to write a book.I won a few games and Wednesday she stopped writing at the exact time. Later, she began to read a book that she had bought for herself. The door of the room rang loudly, Enid came in crying and shouting that Ajax was a complete idiot.
—Enid lowers the volume, it's already late—Wednesday wasn't there to be bothered.—Can you believe that he says that our dates are boring? He told me that he is tired of always going for a drink, for a walk or meeting other friends, that he wants something more—she said that last thing, embarrassed.—Love is routine Enid"You're not helping Wednesday," I told him, trying to get him to be nicer."Yo!" She jumped in surprise, "what are you doing here?"Hang out while..." I wasn't able to finish the sentence.
There was a moment of silence.
"I'd better go now, it's late." Before walking out the door, she took my arm."Thank you for saving me this morning." She kissed me on the cheek and closed the door while we both shared a smile.
I went back to my bedroom and Ajax was fast asleep. I yawned and went to sleep, classes were going to start soon and I needed to be focused. Although that night in my mind Enid's smiling face was drawn and she kissed her on her cheek. The next morning, I received a visit from Enid, Ajax was gone and I still wanted to sleep a little more but the blonde insisted on going for a drink with Wednesday before going for a walk.
"I'm going" I changed and went out.-Ready?-Ready.
Wednesday was waiting taped to the wall. And so began my new school stage.
To be continue.
