Rhydian's POV
Rhydian sat in Mr. Jeffries class while he talked but he wasn't paying any attention. His mind was somewhere else. He had so much to worry about. His mother for one. Ceri showing up when she did to try and take him home was at best horrible timing. And now he had to worry about her killing Alric. And then there was Maddy.

He liked her. He really did and he wanted to ask her out. But what if his suspicions were wrong and she didn't feel the same way?

He'd make a fool of himself if that was the case and she rejected him.

Rhydian sighed and looked out the window. Maybe he could throw hints out that he liked her. But at the same time he should just come out and tell her straightforwardly how he felt. Just get it over with.

Jasper, who was sitting beside him, elbowed him in the ribs. "You okay?"

Rhydian spared him a glance and went back to staring out the window. "Yeah."

He felt Jasper's eyes on him for a couple more seconds before he looked away. Rhydian knew Jasper still liked him so he knew he was gonna flirt with him whenever he could.

When the end of class bell rang, Rhydian was the first out of the classroom. He walked down the hall running into Jimi and Liam. They looked at each other for several moments before they moved on in opposite directions.

Rhydian headed for the doors since it was the end of the day. He strolled across the football field and and disappeared into the woods.

Maddy's POV
Maddy watched Rhydian disappear into the woods alone and wondered if Rhydian liked her. Because she sure liked him. Had since he first arrived last year.

Shannon and Tom came to stand beside her and Shannon said, "You know if you like him, you should just tell him."

"What?! Pfft, I don't like Rhydian!" Maddy lied.

Tom rolled his eyes. "You're lying and we know it Mads. We've seen how you look at him....and how he looks at you."

"Wait...you think Rhydian likes me?" Maddy said eagerly.

"Well yea." Tom says.

Maddy grinned and said, "I'll catch ya later."

Maddy raced into the woods after Rhydian with one goal in mind: tell him how she felt.
