~Chapter Thirteen~

On the Other End

((Can you believe it 13 chapters already? Jeez. Well I know you guys probably want to find out what's gonna happen to Juniper, but I'mma switch things up and do the whole chapter in Sara's POV! Oh yeah I'm so evil >:) Enjoy!))

Sara's POV

As the bus rolled to a stop in front of my house, dread overcame me. I knew my parents would not approve of that Spaghetti Incident, but they have to find out at some point.

I pulled myself out of my seat and slid down the aisle, not even bothering to glance at Juni on my way by her seat. It's all her fault, the trouble that happened. Even though she's the one that threw the spaghetti, I knew I was going to get in trouble. My parents never take punishment lightly.

I jumped down the steps as my brother Sam followed me. The door on the bus screeched closed as it began to roll away. I turned to face my house, blowing a strand of my dirty-blonde hair away from my face.

"You coming sis?" Sam called after me as he began striding towards the house.

"No, I was just planning on standing here the rest of the day," I said sarcastically as I rolled my eyes and began jogging after my big bro.

"You got any homework?" he asked.

"I didn't think they would give homework to new students on their first day, but apparently they do," I complained, shifting the bulging backpack on my shoulder. Sam chuckled and waved his limp backpack in front of me.

"Eighth grade is awesome," he bragged. "Hardly any homework! he exclaimed.

"Not fair," I pouted with my best puppy-face. Sam chuckled lightly as we reached the front door. He pulled out our spare key since our parents weren't home yet and the door was locked. The key clicked and Sam pulled open the door, letting me go in first like the 'gentleman' he was. I rolled my eyes and continued my way into our house, taking in the cinnamon aroma lingering since we made cinnamon rolls last night.

I threw my backpack next to the stairs and scurried into the kitchen, pulling out two plates and dishing up the piles of delicious gooey-ness for Sam and myself. I popped a plate in the microwave to warm it up a bit when Sam strolled into the kitchen.

"Can I assume one of those is for me?" he chuckled.

"Yes silly goose it is," I giggled as I waved a fork at him. "Or I could just eat both cinnamon rolls..." I trailed off jokingly.

"Hey, I'm gonna go pull up the recording of the football game. Can I count on you to be a good sister and bring me my cinnamon roll when it's done?" Sam asked gesturing to the living room.

"Sure," I sighed. "You're so lucky you have a nice little sister," I told him.

"Thanks little bear," my brother said as he headed into the living room and flipped on the TV. I giggled as the microwave beeped, signaling the roll was done. I popped open the door and slid out the plate, grabbing a fork and strutting into the living room.

"Your meal is ready," I announced as I held out the plate in front of Sam.

"Thank you much!" he exclaimed, eagerly grabbing the plate out of my hands and digging in. I laughed at my brother's behavior, even though it was common in our house.

Skipping into the kitchen and grabbing the other cinnamon roll, I returned to the living room and flopped down next to Sam, annihilating my sweet treat and enjoying the football game. At some point I set down my plate and rested my head on Sam's shoulder, curling up into a snugly little ball. Sleep soon overcame me and I drifted off into a peaceful nap, all worries left behind.
