~Chapter Six~

Sisterly Love

I landed with an oof! as I toppled to the ground. My instincts kicked in and I shoved off my opponent, ready to throw myself at them with a pile driver, when I heard faint giggling and I realized my 'opponent' was Sage.

"What was that for?" I exclaimed angrily as Sage got up and brushed herself off.

"Just 'cuz," she said with a laugh. "Do you want some help fixing up the clubhouse?" she said changing the subject.

"Sure, might as well," I told her. "But first, there's something you gotta do.." I said with a mischievous grin.

"What, what is it? I'll do anything," Sage fake pleaded.

"It's real easy," I said. "You just have to... STAY STILL WHILE I TICKLE YOU!" I exclaimed as I pounced on her. Sage giggled hysterically and she's really ticklish almost anywhere, which makes her a really vulnerable target.

She got hysterical enough to be violent, and I got a good pop in the jaw at one point. I eased off the tickling a bit as I rubbed where a new bruise would be pretty soon, and Sage's breathing returned to somewhat normal.

"Jeez Sage," I said, "you sure pack a strong punch!" I giggled and laid back on the ground.

"Well, I do get a good workout trying to keep boys away from all of this," Sage said gesturing to herself. She gave a small laugh and laid beside me. "You know, I'm really lucky to have a sister like you," Sage whispered in my ear.

"And I'm lucky to have a big sister like you," I whispered back. I sat up and exhaled, looking at the hole in the side of the clubhouse that still needed to be patched up. I still don't know how that got there...

"You know, we might be able to use part of the blanket to fill in that hole," Sage said practically reading my mind. "I'm sure it wouldn't change much if we cut a little piece outta that old blanket on the floor, and if we nail it in place over the hole it might not look too bad," she suggested.

"That's a really good idea," I replied. "I'm gonna go look at the blanket and find a good piece we could cut out," I said as I stood up and brushed the leaves off of me.

Apparently, I must have a "Maul Me" sign taped on my back, because then someone else tackled me on the spot. Just great.
