~Chapter Seven~
Oh, Brother!
Since Sage was already here with me, I didn't know who else would come all the way out here. I freaked out a little and kicked off my attacker, and pinned his arm behind his back. Only then did my thoughts clear enough for me to realize it was Cedar who pounced on me. I guess I shoulda thought about my other sibling.
"What the heck, Cedar?" I yelled in annoyance. "Did you and Sage, like, plan this out?" I glanced over at Sage, who was giggling again.
"We figured we might as well celebrate the marking of five months till April Fool's day," Cedar joked. "Now can you please let go of my arm?" he whined.
"Sure thing bro," I said as I let him topple to the ground.
Cedar grumbled and brushed himself off. "What did I ever do to you?" he complained as he stood up. I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "How did that hole get there?" he said gesturing to the clubhouse.
"I dunno. Do you want to help me and Sage fix it?" I suggested. "We're going to use part of the blanket to patch it up," I added.
"We're gonna need scissors, a hammer, and some nails for this." Sage said as she stood up. "I'll go get some," she said as she morphed into a wolf and ran off.
"Maybe I shoulda told her that I brought her Wolf Pack with me," Cedar said, pulling out Sage's blue dog backpack she used to transport things in wolf mode.
"Why didn't you just take your own?" I asked him.
"Cuz I like Sage's better," he pouted. "It's a purdy shade of blue," Cedar said as he stroked it.
"She'll probably be back soon enough," I laughed as I leaned against a tree. Sure enough, Sage came trotting back a minute later later.
"Who took it?" Sage growled at us. Cedar laughed and tossed the Wolf Pack to her. She transformed into a human just in time to catch the brown sack as it hurtled to her. "Thank you much," Sage said as she clipped the pack around her waist. She morphed into a wolf and took off towards the house one more time.
I giggled turned to Cedar. "Whadya wanna do while we wait?" I asked him.
"Let's hang out inside the clubhouse," he suggested as he walked inside. I followed him in and took note of the shabby interior. We really let this place go after school started in August.
As I flopped on the faded blue couch, I asked Cedar, "Do you think this place needs a bit more color? I mean, the walls are brown, the carpet is black, and the blue of this couch isn't very blue anymore," I said gesturing to my very discolored seating area.
"Yeah, our clubhouse is pretty anti-rainbow," Cedar replied. "It could use some red, orange, even purple..." he trailed off.
"Maybe we could use some of the leaves outside?" I suggested. "I saw a huge pile of stunning red leaves near a red maple tree nearby," I said.
"Those will work great!" Cedar replied enthusiastically. "We can string them together and hand them from the ceiling! We can make some look like epic flames!" Cedar was practically bouncing with excitement.
"Well then, let's go!" I said, thrilled that Cedar was actually going to be productive for once.
I happily skipped outside and took a breath of fresh air. This might turn out to be a pretty good- my thoughts were interrupted as something warm and gooey landed on my head.
Cedar stifled a laugh as he saw my face turn red and a small portion of my jet black hair streaked white with bird poo. Just great.
