Lukas POV*
"This place needs a makeover." Aubrey stood at the front of the church, looking over it thoughtfully. "Why?" I asked confused. "Because it's boring..." she said back as she sat down.
"It doesn't have to be exciting, it just has to be safe," Marc added. "Yes, that too. But I also want to at least enjoy the place I'm staying..." she sighed. "Also I need my privacy."
"For what," I asked. "That's none of your business, little brother. I just need my own space." She argued. "Well, I'm sure you can find another room, it's a pretty big building," Marc said as he looked around. "Then it's still gonna be boring." She sighed.
"But at least you'll have a room, for your precious privacy." I joked as I sat down on the bench next to her. "Well then I'm gonna go look for a room," she stood up. "I'll look for one for you as well." She added as she started to walk. "What- why, I'm fine sleeping here, I don't need a room," I yelled after her. She stopped and turned back around. "I don't wanna walk in on you guys when Isaac comes over again." She said, crossing her arms. "Wh- what's that supposed to mean.."
"Oh please, I know what's going on between you two, I've seen enough." She smiled, I sat there, not sure what to say right now. "So you-". I stuttered. "When did you-"
"Well I had my suspicions back at the house on the full moon, I mean you guys were practically on top of each other." She smiled, and I felt a blush creep onto my face as she continued.
"Also I was awake." She added. I looked at her confused. "What do you-" that's when. I realized she meant last time, right before we got marc out. "Oh my god, please tell me you're joking," I said, bringing my hands up to my face. She shook her head, "I saw everything." She smirked. I let out a groan as I leaned against the bench.
"What is going on, I think I missed something." Marc suddenly joined in. I sighed as I thought about how to explain, luckily, Aubrey beat me to it. "Lukas and Isaac are going out." She said simply. "You-"
"Going out?" He asked confused, "yeah- I know, dating?" She explained, but he still didn't seem to get it. "They're having sex." She said simply. "Hey- Aubrey- that's not-" I tried. She shrugged.
"That's-" Marc looked up a little shocked. "I see.. well that's nice." He looked at me, not sure how to react. I could see he wanted to say more but he held it in. "Well, I'm gonna go look for those rooms," Aubrey said as she tried to walk off again, but he stopped her. "Wait- even if you do find a room, why would you want to 'give it a make-over' " he asked. "Well I want to at least like the place I'm living," she said back.
"But I thought we were gonna find a way to not have to live here forever." He asked. "Well, yeah, but that could still be a while, I mean, we don't even have a plan started." She said back. "So in the meantime at least want to be comfortable." Marc sighed. "But how can we be sure we're safe?"
"Well I don't think the hunters saw anyone come In here, so we should be safe." I shrugged. "But that won't stop them from coming over to be sure..." he argued. Aubrey dropped her arm and ser down next to me. "So what do you wanna do about it." She sighed.
He smiled and thought about it for a bit. "What if we lead them here..." he suggested. "What- no that's not-" I tried but Aubrey interrupted me. "And then what?"
"Well, if we just make sure we're not here, and then one of us goes up to them telling them you saw someone come in here, they come to look. And when they do find us here they won't come back again.." he explained. "I don't think-"
"That's a great idea!" Once again I was completely ignored, and Interrupted by Aubrey. "But if we can't be here, where do you want to go in the meantime," she asked. "I'm not sure we can find a good hiding place here." She argued.
"We just have to go somewhere else." He shrugged. "What- no!" I stood up. that sounds good but let's not go away just when we found this place!" I yelled. "But we only want to make it safer.." Marc said back.
"I know that, but it was pretty hard getting you here in the first place- Isaac took an arrow to the leg just to get you out of jail, he almost died. And now you're just gonna leave it, only to bring the hunter right to this place?!" They both looked at me quietly, not sure what to say. I'm sore they both agreed with me but still, they tried pushing their plan.
"I get what you're saying- bit I think it would be better if we made sure they don't think we're here, and the best way to do that is to show then we're enough here." Marc continued. I let out a sigh as I dropped down again. "Fine. Bur this plan better be airtight, or I'm not helping you."
He nodded and turned around again, lost in thought. After a while he finally thought of his plan, deciding we would simply leave the church for a day, and then one of us would go up to the hunter to tell them they saw two figures go into the church. They go look and find nothing, hopefully, they think there was nothing and we just saw wrong and they wouldn't go back to the church. Besides, Marc and Isaac ran the other way when they were caught.
"So where do you want to go in the meantime, you can't just hang around town for a day, people will recognize you, or just find you suspicious," I asked. Guess that's one thing he didn't think off...
"What I'd he just went back to the house for a day?" Aubrey suggested. "What no- they still think we're hiding in there. We went here specifically because they know about the house..." I said back. " Yeah but don't you think they already checked over there- I'm sure they found a way inside and realized no one's there anymore, it should be safe." She shrugged.
"Wait- what house?" Marc joined din. "Lukas has been hiding in an abandoned house in the woods for the last 5 years." She explained. Marc looked at me shocked. "You- what?" He tried, not sure what to say.
"I'm sorry, you-" I stopped him. "It's fine, let's not-" sighed. Marc nodded and went back to the plan. "So you're saying there's a house out there, that should be safe to stay at?" He asked again. "Well yeah, pretty much." Aubrey shrugged.
"Then why aren't we going there, what are we even doing at the church?" He asked seriously. "Because we already had some bad encounters with the hunter there, they know someone is hiding there. After you escaped, that would be the first place they looked," I explained. "So we looked for somewhere else and landed here," Aubrey added.
"I don't want to go back there either, I like this place," I added quietly. Marc sighed. "Well, it should be fine for one day right..?" He asked.
We both nodded. "Alright then, now all we need is a place for you two to stay for the night." He said crossing his arms.
"Oh, I think I know where we could go..." Aubrey smirked.
