Chapter 21.1

A/N
This is just a short chapter, in which Yuna tells when and why she drank human blood. Back when she lived with the others in the city. You know, before they left after the big battle, a few months ago.
I hope you enjoy it.
The next chapter will be released in April.

Crowley walked up to me a few hours after the last training. I was just trying to mind my own business, but that's probably not possible here.
I closed the book, which I started reading a few minutes ago. You can't even read something in silence, after you have decided to touch a book again after like ten years.

"What is it?" I asked and tilted my head back, giving the vampire a questioning look.
He just sat down in an armchair, close to mine without answering my question.
I huffed and decided to sit up in a more normal position, since I was literally lying over the whole armchair.

I put the book on the table and crossed my arms.
"Again. What is it? Don't you have anything better to do? I mean I was just minding my own business, alone. All by myself. Not bothering anyone. Nearly invisible Far away from everyone else."
Crowley snorted at my words. He leaned back into the armchair and looked through the room.
"I was just bored. The others are way too noisy, though. So I decided that you might be a better company to be around." He explained with a blunt expression, without looking at me once.
I tilted my head and thought about what he just said. Am I supposed to see that as a compliment? Or is he just saying that spending time with me would be at least a bit better than just sitting all alone in a corner, not knowing what to do?
I would feel uncomfortable if it actually was a compliment so-
"Well, I mean it's probably because you are not normal, but what do I know..." Crowley spoke up and looked at me.

Ouch.
That hurt.

I grabbed the book and turned away, trying to get back to reading. I'm not in the mood to talk to him anymore. He just destroyed the moment.
I felt his eyes fixed on me. Why?
What does he want? Can't he just leave me be? He's making me feel uncomfortable.
I whined and held the book closer to my face, trying to focus on reading.
But it didn't work. He's gonna make me cry out of despair.
"Please. Please stop starring at me like that." I begged as I closed the book shut "I don't know what you want, but that's not how you socialize with someone. Well at least not me." I explained, followed by a heavy sigh.
I heard the vampire sigh, but ignored it and waiting for him to say something. He looked like he was thinking about a reply, but even after a while his mouth stayed closed.
"Alright. I don't know what you were hoping for, as you decided to waste your time with me, but if you want to have a conversation with me, you should at least be able to form words." I said with a mocking grin.
I noticed his eyebrows twitch for a second, but his expression remained calm.

"Fine." He spoke up "Then let me ask you something." He leaned forwards and looked at me with a curious expression, causing me to sink back into the armchair.
What the heck. I will never feel comfortable around him, if he keeps up these actions during a conversation.
"When did you drink blood for the first time?" He asked with a smile.
I looked at him with an irritated expression. That's the last question I wanted to hear. Especially from a vampire.
I sighed quietly and looked away, rubbing my temples.
"Fine. It's not like, I care if you know it or not." I huffed and crossed my arms.
"I'm all ears then." The male replied and leaned back into the armchair, making himself comfortable.

"You remember, that one vampire, who keeps following me from time to time?" I asked and rested my head on my hand.
Crowley thought about my question for a few seconds, before replying.
"The one I found with you, whenever you left and I head to get you back?" He muttered and raised an eyebrow.

"Yes." I mumbled, kinda embarrassed "You see, a few months ago, he and some other vampires were imprisoned in some kind of lab, which was located in the city, where I and the others lived. So, one night I had troubles falling asleep, even though I was still really exhausted from a battle we had a few days ago. I was having trouble to find a way to get my energy back. Even though, I was bored to death and I recalled Guren, entering some weird looking building. I asked Shinoa what was in there. After begging her for an answer, she explained to me what they did there, in return I wouldn't tell anyone of course. The humans did experiment in there, they also imprisoned vampires to get their demon weapons."
I stopped talking, taking a few breaths before continuing.
"So my demon suggested ' Yo, Yuna. Let's do something illegal.' And since I was really bored, I agreed, even though I felt like I was about die. So, I got myself an awesome looking fox mask and sneaked into the hospital and stole some blood-bags. After that I hurried to the lab, where the vampires were held captive and yeah... I kinda helped them escape." I looked away with a sigh.
"Well, after I made sure, they escaped from the city, I realized that one blood-bag was left. Even though, I made my way back home, not returning it to the hospital. I was sitting on my bed, the blood-bag on lying on the night stand. Then my demon appeared in front of me with a smile, like he had an idea. He looked at the blood and said: 'Yuna. You should drink it.' and I was totally shocked by his idea. He explained me, that he thinks that I might feel better afterwards, because he knows, that I'm not completely human. Before disappearing again, he just said: 'Your inhuman strengths require inhuman sources'. So, I kept thinking about his words for a long time, before I made up my mind. And yeah... that's literally it."

Crowley looked like he replayed my story in his head, since he was wearing a quiet thoughtful expression.
I let out a heavy sigh and raised from the arm chair.
"I guess I will take a nap." I muttered and walked up to the door.
"Wait. There is still something I need to ask." He spoke up and suddenly appeared in front of me, blocking the door.
I jumped back in surprise.
"Alright. What is it?" I asked with a grin.
I noticed a slight smirk on his face, causing me to tilt my head in confusion
"Did it help you and how did it taste to you? Did you like it? You know, the blood you drank." The male asked and bowed down, looking straight at my face.
I scoffed and turned my head away, in embarrassment.
"Yeah. It helped quiet a lot." I admitted with a slight blush. "But if I want something sweet, I'd rather drink apple juice in the future."
The vampire looked at me kinda confused, by my last statement.
I hurried past him and hushed through the doors, my face brightly red.
As I turned around the corner I heard him shout after me.
"Is that a 'Yes'?"
