Chapter 16
A/N
Sorry that I wasn't able to update in the last few months. I started an education and the work i get there just keeps comming and comming. Everytime I wanted to update I was just too tired to think of something good for this story here.
So yes. I'm terrible sorry. And if work keeps comming like this, I will tell you that it will again take a while until the next update comes up.
Sorry.
Oh. At least I drew a sketch from the vampire Yuna met a few months ago.
Yuna's keeps drawing in her sketch book when she is bored. She hides it in the inner pockets of her jacket.
Have fun reading. I hope you like it.
--------------------------------------
I put my feet on the back of the seat in front of me and gazed out of the window with a bored expression.
I decided to block Ferid's voice out, since it annoyed me way to much to be able to actually listen to it. I didn't care about the fact, that he explained Seraph of the End, what would actually be an important information.
I sighed quietly and closed my eyes. A little nap never killed anyone, did it?
Though, falling asleep right now may not be the best idea. After going through the worst case scenarios, in my head, I just shrugged my shoulder and decided to take my nap.
I yawned and starred at Kaze with half closed eyes.
"What do you want? Can't you let me dream a normal dream for once?" I asked and rubbed my temples.
"How can you even think about sleeping at a time like this? If you're bored then do something, instead of taking a nap." Kaze complained with a blunt expression.
"Like?" I looked at him with a curious expression.
"Listening to what Ferid is talking about or drawing picture on the window. Trying to get you phone back, so you can do something against your boredom." He explained and crossed his arms.
"It's a waste of time to ask Crowley to give me my phone back. Listening to Ferid's all-time-amused voice makes me want to punch this smile out of his face." I replied and shrugged with my shoulders.
Kaze sighed and turned away.
"Fine, do what you want, but don't complain if you end up dying because of your decisions." He muttered and gazed over his shoulders, with a smile.
I starred at his form for a while before opening my mouth to speak.
"Can I ask you a question?"
Kaze turned around with a confused expression, but then grinned at me.
"What is it? I already now what you want, but I want to hear that question from you." He replied and laughed dryly.
"Fine. Why do you wear such weird clothes?" I asked and starred at him with a curious expression.
"Why? Hmm... Let me think..." Kaze walked past me and jumped onto the staff, that was stuck in the ground and crouched down on it.
"Why are you wearing such weird clothes?" He asked me with a grin.
"That is the uniform I have to wear." I replied and starred up at him "But that clothes, you are wearing is definitely not a uniform."
Kaze sighed and starred back at me.
"You know, being a vampire is pretty boring. So we try to find ways to pass time by distracting us from our eternal life. Something you would call a hobby. I for one, started informing myself about human's cultures in different countries."
He paused for a moment, before opening his mouth again.
"To answer you question, I think that exotic looking clothes suit me." Kaze answered my question.
"You're right it suits you." I replied bluntly.
"I knew you would say- Wait. No. I expected another answer." The demon muttered under his breath and glanced at me.
"What? Don't you know that I totally love tanned anime characters with exotic clothes? White hair and red or blue eyes and I would leave anyone for this person." I replied with a grin.
Silence.
"Or for a punk with pink hair in side-cut style and piercings." I added with a satisfied grin.
"You watched to much Anime." Kaze whispered and sweatdropped.
"Or played too many dating games." I corrected him.
"Right. I forgot about these even though you play them like every single free minute. I'm kinda happy Crowley got you phone. I don't have to watch you playing theses games anymore." Kaze said with a relieved expression.
"Don't worry. I'll get it back sooner or later." I replied and crossed my arms with a smirk.
"More likely later." He mocked and stretched his arms.
I clicked my tongue and lowered my arms.
"I should go before I miss anything important..." I muttered with an annoyed expression.
"You're probably right." Kaze agreed.
I opened my eyes and looked out the window.
I seriously don't want to know in what kind of sh*t we will end up this time. Since we decided to follow Ferid, it has to be really big sh*t.
If I find Akito I will just leave them all behind and try to find a way to get back home. I can't stand this world any longer. I'm so god damn stressed, because of everything that is happening. Too much happened for my own well being. I'm a simple girl who is used to lie on a sofa, while watching Anime and eating the whole day. I'm more into the "watching from afar roll" than being a part of the watched stuff. I loved my simple and nearly calm life.
I sighed quietly and decided to listen to what Ferid was talking.
*Time Skip*
So.... Everything I understood while I listened between spacing out from time to time, was that Guren's friends died and he used "Seraph of the End" to revive them. That was a taboo though, that's why humanity got killed.
I think that's everything that is important right now. I think I can go back to sleep.
I was about to close my eyes, but...
"What? Going back to sleep again?" A voice asked.
Crowley.
"Shut up." I hissed and turned my head away.
"Don't hiss at me like that. I just asked a simple question." He replied bluntly.
"You stole my phone... Twice." I raised two fingers.
"It's not like you can use it much anyways."
"I use it as much as I want to use it, no matter the timing. There is no problem in using it all the time as long as it doesn't impair my actions." I huffed and crossed my arms.
"Doesn't your phone run on battery?" He asked confused.
"Well... My phone doesn't seem to run out of battery, so I can play as much as I want." I explained with a smile.
"What are you playing on your phone anyways?" Crowley asked curious.
"Dating Games." I replied bluntly.
"..."
I knew that our conversation was over at this moment.
I closed my eyes and decided to take my nap.
I sighed as I was standing in front of Kaze again.
"What's the matter?" He asked with a bored expression.
"I don't know. I'm bored. I kinda want to leave. I think a vacation would be good. At the beach or in the mountains." I muttered and stretched my arms.
"Why do you need a vacation?"
"I don't know. I just feel so stressed. I feel angry and pissed without a reason. I think a break from everyone would be a good idea, before I end up killing them accidentally." I replied with a sigh.
"You just have a short temper, that's the only problem."
"Maybe you are right..." I sighed and rubbed the back of my head.
"So what are you going to do now?"
"Not sure. I will probably just play along. I only want to find Akito. After that I will find a way to get back to my world." I explained and crossed my arms, starring of into the distance.
"But what if you don't find Akito? What if he isn't here? Or he was here, but died?" Kaze muttered.
"What...?"
"Okay, let's start with something less negative. Let's say he is actually here and you find him, what if he doesn't want to leave this place? Maybe he likes this world way more than you do. If that's the case, he may already have forgotten you. He is probably not even searching for you. Maybe he isn't even going to be happy to see you, after you finally found him." Kaze explained with a worried expression.
"I don't think that he won't be happy to see me. After all I'm his only friend." I said and crossed my arms.
"Maybe you aren't. He could have met a lot of people in the last years. The chance that he forgot you, would be even bigger, if you think about it. What if he isn't a human anymore? What if he is a vampire and kills you as soon as you two meet?" Kaze asked with a grin.
"I don't care if he is a vampire. I'm not even a human myself." I huffed and glared at the demon.
"Fine. I will stop talking about this. But remember these are all potential possibilities. So if you ever encounter him, don't they I didn't warn you." He added with a smirk.
"Don't worry. I'm sure that nothing of this will ever happen." I whispered and turned away.
"Yuna. You should wake up. The bus stopped moving. Better make sure to see what's going on."
*Timeskip*
"No." I replied bluntly and crossed my arms.
"Yuna come on. Move your butt out of this bus." Shinoa ordered and glared at me.
"No. I don't want to." I protested.
"Yuna!" She whispered with a scary expression.
"Nope. I will not join your bathroom break. If there is anything you want to discuss there, then I don't need to be there, since I never listen to your plans anyways." I huffed and crossed my arms.
"What are you even here for?!" She muttered angrily.
"I'm searching for someone and I have the feeling that I will find him if I stay with you for a bit longer. Besides I would also protect you, if anything bad happens. So why complain about my presence?" I asked and shrugged my shoulders, grinning at her.
"Fine. Stay here if you want to. But don't do anything stupid!" She threatened with a glare and exited the bus, followed by the others.
Crowley and Ferid exited the bus too, leaving me alone.
I sighed and crossed my arms, deciding to wait for the others to come back.
A few minutes passed and they still weren't back. I wonder how long the plan to discuss their stuff. I somehow regret staying here. But if I join them now it would be kinda like I lost.
I groaned and thought about something I could do to pass time, until they come back.
Wanting to go for a walk for a few minutes, I exited the vehicle and walked past the two vampires.
"Where do you think you are going?" Ferid stopped me.
"On a walk. It won't take longer than five minutes." I explained and waved at him without looking back "I will not ruin any of your plans." I added.
He didn't reply and I kept strolling down the street, turning the next corner, to get out of their view.
I took a deep breath and looked around, closely observing my surroundings.
I kinda love the way, the town has nearly turned to ruins. The plants are growing up the walls of the buildings. Some of them were partly broken down, others are still standing firmly on the ground.
In my opinion there are way too less abandoned cars standing around. I mean, we are in a city, shouldn't there be way more cars? Or did someone make an effort to get rid of them?
I walked up to one of the left behind cars and looked into it. The glass of one window was missing, so I was able to put my head through it. Everything was dusty and the plants managed to make there way into the car.
I spotted a cat sleeping on the back seats. Still... I fought off the urge to pet it and wake it up.
"Yo." Someone spoke up all of sudden.
I jumped in surprise and hit my head at the window frame. The cat jumped up terrified and hurried out of the car.
Wincing in pain, I pulled my head out of the car and turned around.
I spotted the vampire I last saw at the battleground, around three months ago.
"Ugh... What do you want?" I asked with an annoyed expression and rubbed the back of my head.
"What I want? I told you that I will come to see you again." He replied with a huff and crossed his arms, acting sore.
"Right..." I replied and tilted my head.
I was kinda surprised that he was serious back there. Seeing him standing before me makes me wonder, if he searched for me the whole time, for the last three months.
I'm actually kinda happy that he came to see me again, but I should head back. I'm sure that I've been gone for longer than five minutes by now.
"I'm really happy that you actually kept your promise, but I really need to get going. The others are probably waiting for me. I said, that I won't be gone for too long. I'm terrible sorry." I apologized and bowed down.
After I raised my upped body again, I walked past him in a hurry.
But before I could act, he harshly grabbed my wrist, yanking me back.
I winced and spun around, glaring at him.
"Let go off me. I have to go back." I said and glared at him.
He ignored my protest and walked off, pulling me along.
"I don't have time for this now." I muttered under my breath and tried to shake his hand off.
"Well, I do. Do you really think that I search for you for weeks and then let you off just like that?" He asked and looked over his shoulder, smirking at me.
He tightened his grip around my wrist and kept walking on.
I could just grab my weapon and attack him... but I don't want to hurt him.
"Seriously? What's going on? Are you playing pacifist now?" Kaze suddenly spoke up.
He sounded angry. Like he couldn't believe what I just thought.
"You don't even know what he wants from you. How can you play along this casually?!" He shouted in my head.
"Shut up. I'll find a way to get rid off him, without hurting or killing him." I replied and tried to stop walking.
My attempts just caused me to stumble after him, since he just kept pulling me along.
I wasn't able to stop him this way.
I'm wondering if the others are worried about me. Maybe they just sitting in the bus and wait for me to return. But... what if they just drove off without me?
Never mind! I will just keep going on without them. I don't need them to find Akito!
"Hey, you know, I'm actually searching for someone. So I would really appreciate it if you could let me search for him." I spoke up, still stumbling after the vampire.
"Well I was searching for you too. So I'm not going to let you off, searching for someone else." He replied with a hint of annoyance.
After a few more seconds, he suddenly stopped walking, causing me to bump into his back.
He didn't turn around to look at me, so there must be something in front him, which caused him to stop. Curious I tilted my head to the side, looking past him. After seeing what's going on, I immediately went back behind him. Why him? Why Crowley. Couldn't they have just left without me? Why did Ferid have to send him after me?!
"We are screwed. You are screwed. Or I am screwed. I'm not sure about that." I whispered, nearly inaudibly.
"Thank you for telling me." The vampire replied sarcastically.
I few seconds of awkward silence passed by, before it broke.
"You said you will be gone for five minutes. Five. I don't know if know how clocks work, but you should have at least a feeling that tells you when five minutes are definitely over." The person in front of us spoke up.
I sighed sweat-dropped and walked out of my hiding spot.
"Something... No someone came up. So I wasn't able to return in time." I explained nervously and pointed at the vampire next to me, who was still holding onto my wrist.
"Why are you acting like this? You could have just gotten rid him like that." Crowley sighed and rubbed his temples in annoyance.
"I didn't want to hurt him." I muttered and looked away, trying to avoid his gaze.
The guy next to snickered.
"Don't say it just like that!" Kaze yelled at me.
I turned red in embarrassment and looked away. Damn, that's even more embarrassing than I thought it would.
Crowley looked like he couldn't believe what I just said.
There was a short awkward silence, before Crowley looked back at us and sighed.
"This already taking longer than planned. We are leaving now." He demanded and walked up to me and the vampire.
Before I could act I was yanked away from him. Crowley just pulled me along on the ground like a too heavy sack of potatoes. My trousers are getting dirty.
I watched the other guy as he kept standing there watching me leave.
I waved at him and smiled.
Wait... I don't even know his name.
I should ask him the next time I meet him.
