Okay, so everyone always says that the moral of the tortoise and the hare is slow and steady wins the race. But that's wrong. The tortoise doesn't win because he is going slowly and steadily, he wins because the hare got too cocky. This is just a moral they pasted on that doesn't hold up if you examine more closely. Now let's talk about how stupid the wording of the quote is. The definition of race a competition between runners, horses, vehicles, etc. to see which is the fastest in covering a set course (I totally didn't just copy and paste that from the dictionary). So if the winner is the fastest,  it is literally  impossible for slow and steady to win. If they just changed the wording to something different, it would be much better and less confusing. That said, there is a different quotes that would be perfect for this story: Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. Rant over.
