Chapter 5 - TruthSeeker and WaveDrift ✔️

TruthSeeker walked to next to WaveDrift in the palace. It had been two days after their ceremony and seeing RustHeart tied to a tree. His sisters were suspected for doing that, but nobody had any evidence. They were now walking towards the main library that was HUGE with many scrolls about anything you could possibly think of. She had become close friends with him and had to slap him once or twice with her wing, but she decided that it was because of their unusual bond. His deep blue eyes were always a calm place to look into whenever her parents were being idiots or doing chores. Apparently, he was into how dragon wings work compared to birds. She was mainly into StoneWings. They laughed and tackled each other in the large fancy hallway. Jumping and nipping each other. It was amazing.
WaveDrift pointed to a hall sign that read 'turn right to the library'.
"TruthSeeker?.." he asked.
"Yeah?"
"Your are..... dumb."
She silently cursed to herself for thinking he liked her.
"You too! 😃" She replied, tackling him. He squirmed but it was no use.
"Ack! Get off you big dragonet! No seriously, wanna fight? LETS FIGHT, EH?!" He shoved TruthSeeker off of him and began to crouch, walking slowly in a circle, his tail swaying sharply side to side, his teeth bared. She copied him, and jumped at him, making them both roll in a ball down the hallway, nipping and snarling. Eventually he pinned her down, with a smile on his face.
"HAAA!" He purred, batting at her face. She growled and bit down on his crescent erring, causing him to be temporarily distracted, she wiggled out of his grasp and started to fly down the hallway to the library, laughing. She could faintly hear him laughing and his wing beats behind her, but for now she didn't care. She was here, alive and happy right now, the only things that mattered in the world to her, and she was gonna relish that.
           — after reading for a while at the library —
TruthSeeker grabbed his talon, which was annoyingly a bit bigger than hers, leading him towards her favorite spot in the world. It had gotten dark out much quicker than expected, and tomorrow they would get their new assigned jobs. She couldn't wait. WaveDrift flew fast, but was unable to catch up to her.

"HURRY UP SLOWPOKE!!" She yowled at him. She had been dying to show him her star watching spot since a couple days ago. He did a slight eye roll and imitated her excited expression, but she didn't care. Finally she dived down to her snowy mountain peak, dragging him with her. Landing perfectly on all fours while WaveDrift landing on his butt, roaring. She put a talon over his mouth.
"SSHHHHH! You'll wake all of Envy up!" She exclaimed. TruthSeeker then slowly walked up to the peaks highest point and sat down, gazing at the stars. She felt WaveDrift come up and take a deep breath in next to her. She took a daring move and twined her tail with his. He didn't pull it back. Tough male. I think he is good husband material. Her snarky sister brain voice said to her. Shut up annoying brain! She snapped back at herself. Well.. maybe if... TruthSeeker cursed softly. This might be a while.
— WaveDrift —

WaveDrift looked at TruthSeeker oddly. She kept making angry and embarrassed expressions, kept flicking her tail and muttering under her breath. He wanted to find out if she was insane or if something was wrong. Most likely the first one, but the view was amazing though. It showed everything it could before it ran out of room in the naked eye. Mountains full of snow were all around them in a C shape. They were in the middle, and the trees stretched with rivers as far as the eye could see. The moons were in their direction, along with a splash of stars. Envy was behind them, so they couldn't see the flashes of light that hadn't been there moments before. They couldn't see dragons big and small wrestling and killing each other. He didn't notice it until a StoneWing dive bombed onto TruthSeeker and pinned her down, clamping her mouth shut. He roared again and leaped onto the StoneWing, only to be shoved away by a gigantic claw. The StoneWing clawed at TruthSeeker viciously, who looked unconscious. WaveDrift roared at the dragon and got thrown away again, this time getting off of her and running at him as well. He knew that they were both dead. He flopped down, too tired to get back up. He saw the StoneWing slowly walk towards him with a grin etched on his face.
In an instant he grabbed WaveDrift and pinned him, about to snap his neck. He looked at TruthSeeker, but when he tried to pinpoint her he only saw stone where she used to be. He then heard a roar behind him and looked up to see TruthSeeker with a spike tail shedding in her front talons jump at the dragon and stab it into his neck, causing him to lose his head and topple over beside WaveDrift, looking out to nowhere. It was horrifying.
TruthSeeker held out a talon to help him up, he took it. She had many deep scratches in her neck, and her fur had thankfully saved her from worse. Her snout had some red marks from being clamped too hard. He looked at his feet and saw dirt and ash, so he assumed he looked just as bad. They looked at the city to see gray and black dragons flying away, and the ones who took too long to fly away were killed by the WindWing citizens and soldiers. Just as fast as it came, it was over. Thankfully, they had won this time. They would sleep peacefully for another day.
