Chapter 23 - TruthSeeker

She watched as Wave' dragged Igneous's corpse out of the water, and as Qibli fought off the WindWing. But she couldn't move herself as the corpse plopped at her feet, filling her with a deep sense of anger.
I will save them, Igneous. I will stop this war.

She knew that she had to do it now, without a break or a fault.
So, she got up to her talons and stood straighter, getting on her hind legs to be taller than both of them.

"We are goin to end this, and we are going to end this now. Tell me the spell again, SandWing."

Qibli grinned at her uncomfortably next to the body and muttered the spell, her memorizing it in the third try, flying off to the zone.

The Battle Zone.

This was everything in between the two Kingdoms, practically, but the most bloodshed was in a place called Maze Forest, the direct in between. No side has claimed it as their own territory in centuries, and for TruthSeeker's whole life.

Her thoughts all the way there were clouded with Igneous, and barely realized she had arrived until the sunset's rays flashed in her eyes and corpses lay splattered on the ground, hundreds of dragons fighting below her as she thought a quick spell to make all the dragons freeze and look at her.

A heavy silence rose across the Forest as all the dragons looked at her with wide eyes.

"Listen, dragons! I am TruthSeeker, soon to be Queen of the WindWings, and friend to heir of the throne Prince WaveDrift. This suffering will end right here, right now. Every one of us wants this war to end; to go back to our families and to hug each other and never see each other again.
Well, I know you both may not trust each other but I know that you both are afraid of each other. Not powerful, not confident, but afraid. And I am too, doing this."

Chills went down her spine in nervousness to the next part.

"We will live in peace with one another. We will not attack one another. My friend who is a StoneWing, Igneous, died for this future peace. So I ask of you all to stop attacking. Make revolutions, if they do not agree.
That is my word, that no tribe is greater or more evil than the other.
I, TruthSeeker, cast a spell that all of the dragons but me assembled here now will be able to read some of the other tribes thoughts for 15 seconds before appearing on the opposite sides of this Forest, the side closer to their kingdom."

Once she finished chaos broke out, dragons gasping and chittering all around before disappearing before her eyes.

The war was finished.
The endless had come to an end.
TruthSeeker dreamed of peace and kindness and love with WaveDrift, knowing all too well that their dream had just come true.

Hope you've enjoyed my book! I had to rush it because it's 12:00 pm on a school night.
