Chapter 18 - Igneous

They had been waiting in this room for ages; just her and WaveDrift. Just the tick tick of a clock to keep them here. The room was empty (other than the clock) with a large locked steel door. Every other inch of it was just brick. It was exactly where people would lose their sanity. She began playing with her talons, picking out bits of dirt out as a large BAM! came from where the door was. TruthSeeker stood over the door, grinning as two soldiers stood on her sides.

"Was that truly necessary, ma'am?"

One of them asked, cocking her head.

"Yes, it was at upmost importance."

WaveDrift had his jaw dropped, staring at Truth' like she was a ghost. Igneous then realized that they should probably leave.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

"WAIT!!"

The left guard howled, glancing back at the village.

"Um. Where are you going??"

Igneous smiled.

"Why, we're following destiny. Going to another continent to get help to stop a never ending war on our continent. Obviously."

She glanced back at the island before clicking something briefly to the other dragon. They began to have an argument before agreeing reluctantly-hesitantly. The female sighed.

"Do you mind if we join you?"

Truth' knit her eyebrows. (or her scales... whatever)

"Why?"

The female smiled.

"Isn't it obvious? We're-okay, mostly me-I'm tired of this island. I want something more out of life, and we're.... Not really allowed to leave. Your our ticket out. You know where to go and whatever. We want to choose our own fate. So, we're going to Pyrrhia with you, for freedom. He's coming because he can't leave me. He adores me."

The male rolled his eyes, blushing and shoving her shoulder a bit. She laughed and smiled at him. A perfect smile...

The Pyro trio glanced at each other, taking their turns silently agreeing.

TruthSeeker coughed loudly, allowing their attention to focus on her.

"... we've agreed to help you along. Follow Igneous, she should know where to go..."

The group looked at her, silently waiting for her to lead.

Oh, Spirits.... Well, best guess it is.

"Okay, follow me."

She heard screeches behind her and quickly began to sprint, grabbing the male Dragonling and plopping him on her back, allowing him to get a good grip before jumping out of the window, the glass bouncing off of her scales from the force. She could only hope the other were following as she extended her wings, flapping them frantically to stay in the air from her sheer weight.
She risked a glance back to see that they were following her, the female on Wave's back as an arrow flew past her, missed by a tail length. Soon dozens of arrows were flying at them, it wouldn't be long before one of them got hit.

As if on cue, a cry came from behind her as she turned and saw WaveDrift plummeting towards the ground at a wicked speed. TruthSeeker and the female were diving for him, and she also began to dive for him as he desperately tried flapping his good wing, letting out another howl as an arrow zipped across his face, missing by just an inch.

Naturally TruthSeeker was the first to reach him, grabbing him by her talons and extended her wings, dramatically slowing their fall, but still going pretty fast. Igneous then grabbed his back talons and climbed onto his back, spreading her wings and providing a small cushion as they crashed into the trees at the last second, plummeting through branches and them all landing with a big thump!, the two Dragonling's landing next to them moments later, them all breathless.

Eventually they decided to hide for the night, taking cover in a small cave. It had begun to rain, creating a dull environment as Truth' patched up WaveDrift's wounds, the two slowly going to sleep, twining their tails together, and Igneous felt her heart aching for that sense of friendship. That happiness. Nobody would ever do that to her, even her friends. They still saw her as a companion, not a friend because of her tribe. This would never change.

The Dragonlings has flown off in search for food, their stomachs rumbling as Igneous feasted on caterpillars and mice, slowly falling asleep from the pit patter of the rain....
