Chapter 11 - WaveDrift ✔️

              — TIME SKIP :D —

WaveDrift opened his eyes. His vision was already used to the darkness of the prison. Looking down the cell lines, it seemed unending. It was unsettling how they had gotten used to the noises. The silence that followed screeches of possessed dragons, claws scraping across the rock. They had learned never to look into those haunted eyes. Those prisoners had gone mad being here for years, perhaps centuries. That's what this place did to you. You went crazy.
When TruthSeeker and him were first brought down here, it seemed almost pitch black. It had been a shock when Igneous got thrown in too. Apparently, she had been TruthSeeker's friend, and that was a death sentence now. Igneous introduced herself and had said that he would die in three days then before the guards clamped the metal thing over her mouth. They never did drag him away to kill him, and they all wondered why. Now they had to learn sign language, which TruthSeeker had done her best to teach him by doing the gestures then waving or something to indicate hi. He had gotten better at it, however long they had been down here. It had at least been two months. Igneous and himself were holding tight on their pieces of sanity, but TruthSeeker was losing it. You could tell in her eyes. They had a different flare then they had when he had first met her. That's what this places does to dragons. It changes them. Morphs them. So far, it looked worse then death.
You were alive, but you had lost yourself. You only had that crazy sense of survival left.

So far, it felt like his luck was never ending just to be able to survive another day. Not like it could be much worse... Said his annoyingly active mind, which was getting more character traits. Continuously telling him that he would die today and reminding him that he was in a smelly prison with crazy dragons everywhere. He began to call that voice HopeBlower, which he himself thought was a pretty clever name. It was sad that the voice was right. He was going to die here, and real evidence stated that, not just HopeBlower's observations and thoughts about the situation.
Igneous was up now, looking into his eyes and doing several hand motions when the guards looked away.
Hello. I'm tired. Escape, when? Is TruthSeeker OK? Did the food ___ yet? He guessed that she said did the food come yet and waved to the bowl, doing a couple quick ones back to her.
Yeah. Need to escape soon. TruthSeeker isn't doing OK. Igneous glanced at TruthSeeker nervously. She was asleep, teeth out and claws digging into the ground. Growling every once and a while. WaveDrift went up to her slowly, tapping one of her talons.
Her eyes shot up and she leaped up teeth bared and eyes wild. He quickly rammed himself onto her before she could jump on Igneous, pinning her down easily. I slapped her hard on the cheek, signaling Calm down and slowly getting off of her, watching her eyes relax and her body shaking off the tenseness. Shaking while getting up, she slowly stood and signaled sorry, I don't know what ___ into me. Need to escape soon, or I'll go angry! (Mad?) Are you OK?
Igneous looked at the guards and tapped the water bowl to the first two. They growled but unlocked the door, holding spears at her, they unlocked her snout cover and growled some more just for show.
"Drink." The larger one boomed, pointing to the bowl. She slowly lowered her head and took three long sips. The smaller guard muttered some swears and grabbed an object, which looked like homework from a small pouch on his left wing. The dragon frantically scribbled on it, looking up every once and a while.
Igneous lifted her head up again as the large guard got the snout cover ready.
"WAIT!! What's the date, how long have we been down here?!" The guard snorted, giving her a look that said as if I would tell you! And clamped the snout thing shut around her. The smaller guard muttered some things under his breath and the larger guard put his ear in, curious. The smaller guard groaned and said loudly,
"Three whole moons and a half, sir. Isn't that right? The trees are turning colorful in the next moon, sir yes sir!" He howled the last Sir and did a small salute while continuing to scribble, barely looking up. WaveDrift stifled a grin, while Igneous looked terrified. Something clicked for her, he thought. Something coming up. The larger guard looked furious and practically threw the smaller guard out of the prison cell, who let out a small yelp, pencil and scroll flying out of his talons and clattering onto the stone floor. The smaller guard landed with a Thud and snatched his pencil and scroll quickly before looking up, eyes wide, just barely ducking under one of the other guards wild blows. He then took a huge leap away from the guards fire, talons scraping across the floor as he rushed towards the exit. Once he was just talon steps away from the door, or it looked like it from WaveDrift's perspective, the two guards guarding the exit on either side criss-crossed their long spears, creating an X at the door and the small guard screeched to a halt, slowly turning around towards the guard from before and two others, each of them grabbing one of his arms except for the larger and dragging him out of the prison, which had turned awfully quiet, seemingly more freaky then the screams from before. Igneous quickly went into the bathroom stall and dragged WaveDrift in there as well, smiling as she pulled out from under her wing pouch a small piece of chalk just large enough to write a couple sentences with. She quickly scribbled something in the wall and left the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
Truth and her dad are Animus's, Eye color.
Using her for winning the war.
Wave will die in a few days
       —Kings birthday—

It didn't seem too Marvel movie - ish of Igneous to write everything like that, but at the same time it was technically a life or death situation, so he couldn't blame her too bad. He quickly ran out, shutting the door silently and flicking his tail towards the bathroom to TruthSeeker. She did a small nod, her eyes softening as she kept his gaze and slowly crept into the stall...
