Prison-break
Sneaking into SandWing territory and finding the prison from outside the castle's walls had been no easy feat. But Nova was determined. She had waited her whole life for this. Ever since she found out that, unlike her the rest of her litter, she didn't have NightWing abilities.
But when her brother told her of the prophecy, the prophecy that she was in, she had searched far and wide for the other dragons. Now they were all here, in Scorch's prison.
Once the large NightWing found the ceiling to the prison she scanned for a weakness. A small crack caught her eye and she silently looked through it. Inside she saw dragons of all kinds chained in cells.
A guard was smiling and teasing a oddly small SandWing prisoner. She began to listen and got a few words from the conversation. She got a hunch that the prisoner, whoever he was, had no idea why he was there. She gave a silent yawn as she continued to listen to the smug guard's rants.
Checking to make sure she couldn't be seen by any SandWing patrols. Using her claws she scratched at the sandstone. It came away easily and soon she lost patience. Spreading her dark wings Nova lifted herself off the ground and dived on the ceiling, her feet smashing straight through it.
Chunks of sandstone fell on the SandWing guard. She heard him yelp with surprise before he was buried in debris. "Eat that you frog-faced blob of camel spit!" She growled and tucked her wings at her side.
All the prisoners stared at her in surprise. A key lay under a coat of dust, having fallen from the SandWing guard's grasp. Picking it up. she then rummaged through her saddle bag and pulled out a clawful of strange crystals. Ignoring the confused looks she got, Nova walked from cell to cell. As she neared a frightened MudWing one of the stones glowed.
There was no time for formalities as she unlocked the cell door and released the prisoner.
Amaya watched her with curiously as the stones glowed for the other RainWing and then to Cactus. Like the Mudwing, the strange NightWing let them go.
Cactus rubbed where his chains had been and glanced up at the female dragon. "Who are you?" He asked but the NightWing ignored his question. "Follow me."
The small Sandwing hesitated. "Unless you'd rather stay?" She said over her shoulder and he quickly got onto his feet. He looked at the other prisoners, including the young SeaWing and Amaya.
Her scales went a lime green and he could sense her fear. "Wait!" He called up to the NightWing, who was preparing to fly away. He didn't what it was, but part of him wanted to free the RainWing. "We have to let her go."
"What? Why?" She hissed.
"Please, we have time." The noise of guards running towards the prison was getting louder by the second.
"Free her yourself!" She tossed him the key which he caught and ran towards her cell. Amaya watched as he unlocked her chains. Bruises decorated her wrists, wings and snout from where they had pressed into her skin.
But there wasn't time to even wince before they all soared out of prison and into the hot desert sky. It felt nice to breath fresh air but the sun began to burn down on her in huge waves. "Get above the clouds!" Nova ordered.
The all did and Amaya forced her sore scales to turn a grey-white. It was closest resemblance to cloud she could do in her state and Cactus watched in slight awe. Amaya had no idea why she was still following the other dragons as they soared past Sandwing territory and towards a small cave. She guessed she had no where to go.
As they landed she stumbled slightly.
Cactus looked at the cave entrance, he straight away turned to the Nightwing. "Okay, explain why and what just happened!"
