I: |SALLY|

Sally was having an amazing day.... Until a hurricane hit the city.

She was relaxing on the beach outside her cabin in Montauk while watching Paul and Estelle, Percy's two year old mortal sister, play in the water. The refreshing sea breeze made her relax and she began thinking about the three peaceful years she had with her family, including Percy. Sure he didn't say around for long, but atleast he wasn't half way across the country, or the swirls for that matter, fighting for his life and others' or questing to save the world from impending disaster. Compared to that, rescuing and escorting demigods was like a walk in the park for him and his friends.

What could go wrong?

She thought about last Christmas. She had invited the seven, Thalia, Nico, Reyna, Grover, juniper, coach hedge and his family, and even Chiron over to their new apartment (which wasn't very far from Long Island) to celebrate the day together. Hestia had been there too, tending to the hearth and helping Sally with the feast she had organised for the occasion. Halfway through the day, Poseidon paid a brief visit too. It was a perfect Christmas for everyone. Yet that was the last day they spent together. Ever since new year, the seven have constantly been on rescue missions all over the country bringing in new demigods of every age between 3 and 15 to either camps based on the godly parentage. She sighed. She knew that a half-blood's life was dangerous. Yet she could only hope for the best. She was worried for the smaller kids who lived in camp as it was now home for all the demigod kids who had abusive homes or none at all. She had kind of mutually adopted all the demigods as her own. Her home was always open to any half-blood in need of assistance. It pained her to think that most of these children couldn't even reach 20.

Another breeze hit her and blower her hair, plunging her into the memory of the day she met Poseidon here 20 years ago. She always had enjoyed oceans and beaches, and her love for them only grew more after meeting Poseidon. And then Baby Percy came along and strengthened her bond with the ocean. Percy was indeed his Father's son. They had the same black hair, untameable like the sea, and the same eyes that seemed to hold endless mysteries and reflected the ocean. Heck, if someone took a look at their eyes, they could see the endless expanse of the ocean in them.

Sally was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't notice the change in the air. The winds became wilder and the waves began crashing harshly on the shore, increasing their height my the minute. She was jolted out of her trip down the memory lane when she heard Paul yelling for her. "Sally get inside the cabin NOW!!" He yelled as he ran towards her with Estelle in his arms. Without another moment of delay, the three of them grabbed their belongings and ran into the cabin, shutting the door just in time to see a huge wave like none other crash into the beach and nearly throwing them off their feet. They could see a huge, spiralling mass of water near the horizon, towering by the second and heading towards the harbour/coast.

'It takes a lot to get Poseidon mad,' she thought, 'what got him angered so much that it ended up in this nasty, untimely hurricane?' As if on cue, Paul spoke reflecting her thoughts, " I am pretty sure Long Island doesn't see hurricanes at this time of the year, that too nasty ones like this." " I am not sure. Something must've gone seriously wrong to make Poseidon this mad, and whatever it is, it definitely isn't something we would want to know," Sally replied. " The last time Long Island saw a hurricane was 8 years ago, when Poseidon was accused of the theft of Zeus's Mater Bolt, but at that time Zeus's anger was also added to the disruptive and unnatural weather. But now it's just the sea. What could have happened........" She trailed off thinking about the possibilities, when it suddenly hit her. She paled drastically, her face taking an expression of utter horror and shock.

"What is it, Sally? You know something, don't you?" Paul was getting worried seeing his wife like this and was trying hard not to freak out. Estelle was cowering behind her father's legs and was flinching every time a wave crashed on the shore. Sally was shaking in fear, mumbling incoherent prayers to all the gods desperately hoping that she was wrong. She knees gave away and she tumbled on to the couch while staring off into the sea, still muttering silent prayers. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Paul take Stan into their room to put him to sleep.

She was pacing around the cabin when Paul came back minutes later. " All he has ever done is save them time and time again. What do the Fates have against him? Why does he always end up in serious trouble, Paul? All he does is good, never bad. Oh Paul what am I gonna do?" She was on the verge of crying by the time she finished saying this. She looked at Paul, tears threatening to spill, but she was stronger than she knew herself to be. Paul had a look of confusion on his face. "Sally, are you alri... No ofcourse not. You are definitely not alright, sorry that was the wrong question to ask... " He said quickly, a little embarrassed, but still worried for his wife. "Poseidon is very difficult to anger, Paul. He wouldn't stir up a hurricane, that too a strong one like this, for no reason. And there is only one thing that will make him do this. After all, he is very protective of his son. Something is very wrong..... "

Realisation dawned over Paul as Sally ran around trying to find a drachma. Fortunately she found one and immediately ran outside, with her husband hot on her heels. She made a rainbow near the shore from the spray created by the crashing waves. "Oh Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering. Please show me Chiron at Camp Half-blood." The mist shimmered to reveal not only Chiron, but also the Olympians and demigods of both the camps, that too in the Throne Room of Olympus. Chiron was standing by the side of his campers, his head lowered. The campers and the gods alike had an expression of pure horror and disbelief on their faces with the exception of Poseidon who seemed to be unable to settle for any one expression. His face changed from disbelief to shock to seething rage to extreme depression in less than 5 seconds. She noticed a group of teenagers, not more than 18, standing off to a side of the Room looking royally confused. Sally was pretty sure she had never seen these children in camp before. Over all she was so stunned by the image of the Throne Room that she momentarily forgot the reason of the call, until a black haired, green eyed boy with round spectacular pointed her out to the assembly.

"Um, excuse me, but I think there is an image floating in the air for some reason," he pointed nervously. Thalia, Jason and Frank were the first to react. "MOM!" They yelled together and then began whispering to each other nervously, " what are we going to tell her?" This worried Sally even more, as she scanned the Room for Percy, but was unable to find him, however she did notice Leo huddled on the floor on the verge of tears along with Nico and Annabeth, who seemed to be dangerously close to passing out.

Fear began gripping her heart, but she managed to grab Chiron and Poseidon's attention. "Greetings, Lord Zeus. Poseidon, what's wrong? You have literally created a hurricane and caused it to hit New York again after 8 years. Is Percy alright? Chiron, where is my son?" She was dreading their reply but managed to bring herself together and kept from shaking uncontrollably. She felt Paul staring at the assembly, mouth hanging open, but if anyone took notice of this, they said nothing. After what seemed like an eternity of glancing each other and telepathic communication, Chiron finally looked up towards Sally with a grave face, which somewhat confirmed her fears. "Leo and Percy were on a rescue mission to Georgia to escort two demigods to camp. On their way back, the four of them were ambushed by a group of hellhounds, dracenae and two empousai. Percy managed to secure Leo and the twin half-bloods and sent them ahead of him but..... I am very sorry Sally, but Percy was captured and was taken to Tartarus."
