Chapter 8: Etiquette
The picture is kind of what I imagine the crest to look like in the photo.
Hermione looked up from her book as an owl pecked on her window.
The first headline caught her attention. The picture next to the article was a Greek omega symbol with a trident and lightning bolt crossed with a helmet under them just in the gap of the 'x' formed by the two objects.
THE OLYMPIA FAMILY IS BACK
It has come to the attention of the Daily Prophet that for the first time in over 100 years descendants of the Olympia family have emerged. They will be attending Hogwarts this upcoming school year.
Minister Fudge received confirmation from Headmaster Dumbledore of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry late last night. The three Royals are Thalia Grace, Nico Di Angelo, and Perseus Jackson. They are the children of the Three Kings: Zandar, Hayden, and Peter respectively.
Tracing family trees it has come to our attention that these three children are not only descendants of the Royal family but also descendants of the Di Angelo family, the Laurel family, and the Black family.
(For more information on each family, please visit pages: 5,6, 7, and 8.)
We were able to catch Percy Weasley as he was leaving the office when asked about this development he stated, "The Minister has asked me not to say anything about what is happening with the royals. Personally, I do not know much."
The Olympia family is very reclusive what has brought them out of hiding now? Are they planning something?
One question is clear. Is this a good or bad thing for the Wizarding World?
"Harry, Ron, look at this," Hermione panted as she ran into the boys' room. She handed the paper to Harry who was the closest to her. He was still in his pajamas and his hair was a ruffled mess. Ron wasn't much better but at least he was working on combing out his hair.
"What?" Harry asked drowsiness still evident in his voice. Then he looked at the article and his eyes widened comically. Ron peaked over Harry's shoulder and he looked at Hermione to make sure what he was seeing was true. She merely nodded.
"So, everyone knows about our guests? How did that happen?" Harry asked.
"Harry, you do realize something like Royalty will not stay secret long," Hermione chided.
Harry thought about it for a second then conceded with her point.
"Especially from the Olympia family," Ron added, "They haven't been seen since the Second Muggle World War."
~Back to the demigod
-Sincerely line break~
Percy arrived at Atlantis quickly. His vapor travel was a useful resource. He took a moment to let the water replenish his energy for a second before heading into the palace. He nodded at the guards and servants as he went. The mers had brightly colored tails and skin tones. The guards gave a respectful nod back and the servants would give a smile and continued on their way.
Percy's father, stepmother, and half-brother were waiting for him at the entrance to the throne room.
"Good you are here, Perseus," Amphrite gave a diplomatic smile. She wasn't the fondest of her step-children but she would never stoop to Hera's level.
"First things first: posture." she frowned at his somewhat hunched posture, "Shoulders back-" she pushed his shoulders back, -head raised-" she tilted his chin up, "-back straight. Good."
Percy looked a bit uncomfortable but did his best to keep the posture up.
"Hello to you too," Percy remarked.
"Yes. yes. Hello." Amphrite waved off, "You may want to get him a room," Amphrite turned to Poseidon, "He needs a lot of work. This is going to take a while."
Poseidon gestured to a nearby servant over, "Prepare a room for my son, please."
The servant bowed, "Of course, sire. Right away,"
The servant swam off to get the room ready, barking a few orders at other servants.
"Come along, now," Amphrite beckoned, "If you are to represent this family in the Wizarding World as royalty you need to act like royalty and dress like royalty-" she wrinkled her nose at Percy's clothes, "-not that disheveled mess."
"What's wrong with my clothes?" Percy asked slightly offended.
"They aren't fit for a Prince. We will be going to the tailor tomorrow morning to get you more appropriate clothes."
Percy looked at his father for help. Poseidon simply shook his head and shrugged his shoulders a fond smile on his face.
Percy looked at his half-brother for help. Triton did the same as his father. He may have felt a little bad for his brother but he wasn't going to help him get out of Amphrite's lessons.
Percy looked defeated and pouted at the floor.
"What did I say, Persues? Chin up. Smile. Pouting is unbecoming of someone of your status," Amphrite admonished.
Percy sighed but did what she told him to. Amphrite and Triton had only just started to warm up to him recently on his last visit to Atlantis. They weren't outright ignoring him any time he was within sight or overly cold when they had to talk to them, but they still held a little bit of discontent for him. Percy understood that though. He was the first demigod of his father in years and a painful reminder of Poseidon's unfaithfulness.
"Next lesson," Amphrite said, "Etiquette. You need to know how to behave like royalty in public."
~Nico's turn~
Nico stumbled out of a shadow in his father's throne room. Persephone walked up to him with Hades. Together they grabbed the young demigod and pulled him to his feet. Hades placed his hand on Nico and transferred some power to him so that he didn't fade into the shadows.
Every since transporting the Parthenos Nico's powers had been wonky and he couldn't Shadow Travel too many times without almost fading. Which is why Will ordered him not to Sadow Travel until he was cleared for Shadow Travel again. He was not. Will was going to have a field day.
Nico sighed as strength returned to him. He looked to his father and stepmother who had stepped back to let him breathe for a second.
"You wanted to see me?" Nico asked his father.
"Yes, of course," Hades replied, "Persephone wanted to tutor you in proper royal etiquette."
"Of course, Father," Nico forced a smile. He was not looking forward to this. He was in his father's court enough to know the basics of royal etiquette.
"Well we start now," Persephone proclaimed, "Keep your posture up, please."
"Of course." Nico straightened his back up a bit.
"I had these made for you." Persephone held up a black chiton with skull clasps in one hand and a black Italian suit in her other, "We can always bring them back if they don't fit. If you like them we can tailor them though."
Nico genuinely smiled this time. Persephone was always kind to him and didn't really hate him. The clothes didn't look horrible but he still wasn't sure about them.
"Go on, try them on," she urged.
Nico gingerly grabbed them and walked to his room. A few moments later he walked out wearing the chiton.
Hades walked to his son and adjusted the chiton a bit before wrapping an arm around him.
"Just like your father," Persephone cooed, "Now try on the suit."
Nico grumbled playfully but walked to his room to put on the suit.
"Dad, I need some help," Nico called.
Hades walked to his son's room and then let out a hearty laugh at seeing him.
"How did this happen?" he asked fondness all over his features. The tie had gotten all tangled and Nico somehow managed to get his arm stuck.
The Lord of the Dead untangled his son before showing him how to tie the tie.
"Thanks."
"Of course, son."
~Thalia's turn~
Thalia was flashed to her father's palace where Hera was waiting.
"Nope. Not a chance," Thalia shouted walking out of the room.
"Daughter, get back here," Zeus thundered.
"What is she here?" Thalia put venom into her voice when mentioning Hera.
"She has promised not to harm you," Zeus promised.
"How can I trust her after what she's done to Percy, Annabeth, and Jason?"
"She swore it on the Styx she would not harm you. Just give her a chance. For me?"
"Why should I do anything for you? You never cared when Mother hit me. You didn't seem to care when I ran away. You only cared when I was seconds away from dying. You turned me into a tree."
"I get that I have not given you a reason to love me like your father in the past. I want to do better now," Zeus pleaded.
"Ugh, fine." Thalia groaned, throwing her hands up in the air.
"Good news, she's decided to give you a chance," Zeus told his wife, "Don't blow it."
"Of course, dear. Now come here," Hera gestured her stepdaughter forward.
Thalia slowly walked forward. She was barely within Hera's arm reach when she stopped. Hera sighed but respected the Daughter of Zeus's space. She looked Thalia up and down messing with the girl's hair for a minute.
"I can work with this," she finally decided, "Can I at least give you an even haircut?" Hera asked.
"Why?"
"You are royalty now dear. Royalty does not present themselves with messy hair. They are well groomed. Therefore your hair needs to be even."
"I'll think on it."
"Great. While you do that." Hera snapped her fingers and a wind nymph appeared with a measuring tape in hand.
The nymph took various measurements, jotting them down quickly. When she was done she showed them to the Queen.
"Good work, Vanessa. Bring them to the tailor please. I want a couple chitons, a few knee length dress, leggings, and some shirts."
Vanessa nodded and hurried out of the room.
"Time for Etiquette lessons. You must act like the Princess you are."
Longest chapter yet 1600 words. I am absolutely obsessed with Good stepmother Amphrite and good brother Triton so yeah.
Next time on Wizarding Royalty:
"Harry's hearing is tomorrow."
"It was self defense."
"They can take care of themselves."
"I'm pretty sure Lord Tyler was laughing in the background as Percy explained his predicament."
