Chapter 21: Dreams

Thalia's dream is an edited version of the memory from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Nico's dream is an edited version of Harry's dream about Mr. Weasley. I don't own the events.

They hoped for a peaceful night with no nightmares or demigod dreams but that hope was for naught as the three were pulled into a dream each.

Thalia was pulled into the first dream.

It started with a man and woman walking along a corridor. The woman was calling out to other people around her. Thalia assumed she was the person running the facility. The children all wore grayish clothes, and by the amount Thalia assumed this was an orphanage. They all looked well cared for but the shabby state of the building did not seem like the best place to grow up in.

The two finally stopped in front of the room and the matron said, "Here we are."

The woman knocked twice before opening the door, "Tom you've got a visitor. This is Mr. Dumberton -sorry Dunderbore. He's come to tell you - well I'll let him do it."

Thalia slid into the room along with the young Dumbledore. Thalia's face turned into a small grimace as she looked around the room, it was mostly bare except for a wardrobe in one corner, a chair, and a bed. Few possessions were placed around the room.

A young boy no older than eleven sat on the slightly rumpled sheets. He had dark black hair and dark brown eyes. He was a very pale boy who looked as though he didn't get enough sunlight. He had a book In his hands which he had been reading rather intently before Mrs. Cole interrupted him.

Tom studied the auburn-haired man in front of him for a second, brown eyes piercing into blue.

"How do you do, Tom?" said Dumbledore, finally, walking forward and holding out his hand.

After brief hesitation Riddle took the offered hand. Dumbledore moved the wooden chair up next to Tom's bed before speaking again.

"I am Professor Dumbledore," Dumbledore introduced. Tom studied Dumbledore again.

"Professor? Is that like 'doctor'?" Toms expression instantly turned suspicious, "What are you here for? Did she get you in to have a look at me?" Tom put emphasis on the word 'she' then pointed to the door.

"No, no," Dumbledore denied.

"I don't believe you. She wants me looked at, doesn't she? Tell the truth." Thalia was a tiny bit startled at the power he had unintentionally added to his voice. It was nowhere near as powerful as Piper's charmspeak but it was undoubtedly there.

In an effort to appease the young boy Dumbledore said, "I have told you. My name is Professor Dumbledore and I work at a school called Hogwarts. I have come to offer you a place at my school — your new school, if you would like to come."

The boy jumped up with a yelp before accusing Dumbledore of being from an insane asylum and Thalia had to let out a short laugh. She probably would have done the same in his position of course, especially if she has not known why weird things happened around her and people had called her crazy.

"You can't kid me! The asylum, that's where you're from, isn't it? 'Professor,' yes, of course — well, I'm not going, see? That old cat's the one who should be in the asylum. I never did anything to little Amy Benson or Dennis Bishop, and you can ask them, they'll tell you!" Tom accused.

Dumbledore made an effort to appease the young boy by telling him he was a teacher once again. Dumbledore explained of what Hogwarts was. A school for magic, where people like Tom and Dumbledore could practice and learn to control their powers without fear of prosecution by Muggles.

"I knew I was different," Riddle whispered as Dumbledore finished. "I know I was special. Always, I knew there was something."

"Well, you were quite right," replied a now straight-faced Dumbledore. "You are a wizard."

Riddle looked happier now but the look of happiness on his face did not make him look better on the contrary it made him look almost bestial. "Are you a wizard too?" Riddle asked.

"Yes, I am," replied Dumbledore.

"Prove it," commanded Tom, once again unintentionally adding power to his voice.

Dumbledore raised an eyebrow in question, "I take it you are accepting a place at Hogwarts?"

"Of course, I am!"

"Then you will address me as 'Professor' or 'sir'."

Riddle's expression hardened and his eyes showed him to be at war with himself. Thalia noted that Riddle most like Percy had a streak of not liking to listen to authority. It was a stubborn and rebellious streak, that ran in the family. After a moment Tom became polite and said, "I'm sorry, sir. I meant — please, Professor, could you show me — ?"

Dumbledore took out his wand and gave Tom a demonstration by setting Riddle's wardrobe on fire. Tom like any rational person howled in outrage because all of his items were in the wardrobe that Dumbledore had just set on fire. He jumped to his feet racing to get the items.

Dumbledore in turn flicked his wand again and the flames vanished leaving the piece of furniture untouched. Riddle turned to the teacher in shock. He stared at Dumbledore's wand for a minute before asking, "Where can I get one of them?"

"All in good time," assured the teacher, "I think there is something trying to get out of your wardrobe."

Thalia realized she had been so focused on the dream she had only subconsciously realized that the wardrobe was shaking and when Dumbledore pointed it out, she became fully aware of the rattling.

"Open the door," commanded Dumbledore. Riddle opened the wardrobe and showed Dumbledore objects that he had taken from the other children. Dumbledore scolded Tom and warned him that theft would not be tolerated by Hogwarts staff. Riddle didn't look at all ashamed of his actions but cooly agreed to do as Dumbledore told him and return the objects.

"At Hogwarts," Dumbledore lectured, "we teach you not only to use magic, but to control it. You have — inadvertently, I am sure — been using your powers in a way that is neither taught nor tolerated at our school. You are not the first, nor will you be the last, to allow your magic to run away with you. But you should know that Hogwarts can expel students, and the Ministry of Magic — yes, there is a Ministry — will punish lawbreakers still more severely. All new wizards must accept that, in entering our world, they abide by our laws."

"Yes, sir," said Tom blankly.

For a minute they talked about how to get school supplies and Riddle insisted that he would get his supplies himself. Riddle's face turned angry when Dumbledore mentioned that the barman at the Leaky Cauldron shared Tom's first name.

"You dislike the name Tom," Dumbledore observed.

"There are a lot of Toms," muttered the young wizard. Then Riddle asked a question that got them onto the topic of his parentage and the topic of how he could speak to snakes.

Thalia could tell from the way he spoke of his parents that Riddle was unfond of both of them. He felt abandoned by them. It was a similar feeling to how many demigods felt and what had led to the second Titan War. Demigods sometimes felt abandoned by their godly parents and that was only natural when gods were rarely allowed to interact with their children. Just because she understood the gods' reasons for not interacting with their children didn't mean she was not bitter about it from time to time.

Thalia was slightly taken aback when Riddle mentioned he could speak to snakes and decided she would need to do research on that particular ability later. It could lead to another problem all together when helping to save the Wizarding World.

Thalia woke up from the dream knowing more about the past of their enemy.

Percy had a second dream. This one was of the present.

Two people were talking to each other one was most definitely female and Percy still remembers her face. The dark black hair, the tanned skin, and the dark green eyes. Her prominent features were hard to forget and her sickly-sweet voice that had drawn Percy in by making him see flaws were all too there.

The female was indeed the goddess Circe. The goddess who had turned Percy into a guinea pig. He shivered at the memory, that isn't one he will be telling Thalia or Nico. She was also Hecate's daughter. He didn't know if Hecate knew that Circe was in the Wizarding World but Circe's appearance did not bode well for the sake of the Wizarding World.

The other figure had snake-like pupils and almost no nose with only slits for nostrils. His eyes were a terrifying scarlet red. Across his shoulders rested a snake.

"Why have you summoned me?" asked Circe with a disgusted look on her face.

"I wish to make an alliance," stated the man, "I am Voldemort, my lady."

"What type of alliance?"

"You help me take down Harry Potter and I help you with whatever you want."

Circe considered the offer for a second, "You will help me kill Perseus Jackson and his little girlfriend?" she asked.

"Of course, my lady." Voldemort may not know who exactly those people were besides the fact that Perseus Jackson was one of the newest teens in the Wizarding World and his name had been circling all over the Daily Prophet along with his two friends. Lucious is the one who had brought the name to his attention during a meeting.

"Then I believe we have a deal."

Voldemort smirked evilly and took the offered hand that Circe held out.

"However," Circe started, "ask your men not to annoy me or they may just become a pet."

"Ay. I have heard about your reputation of turning men into pigs, was it?"

"I've moved onto guinea pigs now." Even as Circe let out a dry laugh the threat was very much still there.

Percy shot awake in his bed that was decorated with black and yellow. The threat was now more than just Voldemort. Now an ancient Greek goddess was helping him and without the demigods, the wizards would stand very little chance. Circe specifically wanted Percy and Annabeth according to the dream, but she knew they would be hard to get to without some sort of surprise and that is why she had agreed to Voldemort's offer.

Percy groaned; he knew he had many ancient gods and goddesses calling for his blood at one time, but Circe wanted his blood for destroying her spa within the Sea of Monsters (something which she could easily rebuild).

The third was a dream with a man and a snake. Nico was pulled into this one.

It started at the end of a hallway. The hallway was familiar Nico realized. Upon closer inspection, he realized that the hallway was the very same room as the one they had walked down before Harry's hearing. No windows or even any artificial light. The only light was dim and from periodically lit torches around the hall. The only door was a wrought iron and heavy door that sat at the other end of the hall. A few empty portrait frames hung on the walls but that was the only decoration.

From the sidelines, a snake slid past his view. Nico rushed to follow it on instinct. The snake was hissing as it moved closer to the door a man could be seen. He had balding red hair and a cheerful face even while asleep. He was Arthur Weasley, and the snake was heading right for him. Nico wanted to shout out but knew this was a dream and it would do no good.

The snake sunk its fangs into Arthur who bolted awake too late. The venom was already spreading through his system and killing him.

Nico was flung out of the dream and into the Gryffindor Boys dormitory where Harry Potter was throwing up over his bed. The rest of his dormmates were either fetching Professor McGonagall or watching over Harry wearily.

The dream ended there, and he knew that was all he would get for the time being. It was a dream about what was to come. A dream about the future.

About 2050 words. Here's another update to this book. Hope you liked it. Sorry about the late update but don't kill me you still need me to finish this, don't you? I had to switch to using different computers that I'm not as comfortable with so yeah, I had to get comfortable with them.

-Scarlett.
