...A Story Of... (39)
Third Person POV
Miyako startled from the calling of her name whipped her head round quickly, turning to face the voice with noodles hanging out of her mouth. "Oh hey." she said after realising who it was. The person walked up to her table with ramen of their own, sitting themselves down they decided to speak, "Well, well, well if it isn't little Miss for a murderer you're pretty cute." Miyako scoffed before returning with a retort," Well, well, well if it isn't Mr I wear face paint as a teenager." The two laughed a little before Kankuro spoke again, "What does the pretty girl not like my face paint? I thought it was quite cool." Miyako shoved more ramen into her mouth before speaking, "Oh ho ho did the puppet boy just call me pretty?" This time he scoffed, "Oh hunny don't let it get to your head, a stud like me giving you a compliment," he placed his hand under his chin and looked off in a random direction before continuing, "plus, you're so not my type." Miyako quickly replied with, "Oh, what is? Inanimate objects?" Kankuro placed his hand on his chest in fake hurt, "This bit of banter is beginning to get personal." Miyako and him both laughed.
The two continued to chat for a while over their bowls of ramen before Kankuro asked a question that had been on his mind for a couple of days, "Miyako, why did you call me brother Gaara cute?" Miyako looked up to him from her bowl and tilted her head, "Feel like its quite self explanatory, he's cute." Kankuro didn't laugh just looked at her dead in the eyes, "He's my brother, trustee when I say when people call him a monster they're not far off the bat." Miyako narrowed her eyes, "Oh please do explain how they're not." Kankuro itched his wrist before speaking, "Well since we've returned he's been a lot nicer. But you saw what he was like he threatened to kill you before and would have happily killed Rock Lee too. They're not the first time he's threatened something like that, he normally does the deed though." Miayko sighed then replied, "Doesn't change the fact I think he's cute, he has nice eyes, they tell a story of-"he cut her off, "Of what muder?" Miyako picked up her chopsticks, "Actually I was going to say of a pained past. I don't think because he's killed he's a monster." Kankuro looked at his empty bowl and spoke," People don't call him a monster just because he's killed, its because he has the one tails beast inside him." Miyako's eyes went from narrowed to sharp and aggravated, she quickly stood up, "You can't call someone a monster over something they can't control doing that is ignorant and stupid." Miayko now looked up to him, "Lovely too catch up but I'll be off." her words seemed nice but were laced with venom.
Miyako's POV
I huffed away annoyed at Puppet Boy, so what if he has the one tails or whatever in him, that doesn't make him a monster. What is with villages and being so horrible to those that have a 'beast' in them, doesn't make the host any less of a person, doesn't make what they say hurt any less. People that give them hate will forever in my eyes be the worse out of the two. Sure I don't know Gaara very well, sure he's tried to kill me but that doesn't mean he deserves the hate he gets from people, even his own brother. Now knowing this, it makes sense why Temari was fearful when I was with him, she views him as a monster. At least Puppet Boy said Gaara's been nicer, that means what ever magic Naru did, it worked. That boy really has a way to get through to people.
I walked back to the inn, noticing that as it got darker the weather got significantly colder, guess that is just how deserts work. Opening the door to my room, I was met with the room in the same way as when I left it. once again I requiped into some pyjamas, Ezra's magic was helpful for battle sure but its even better for when you can't be bother to change or pack spare clothes. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, despite being rather tired earlier I felt quite awake, restless almost. I went over to the bay window and sat down, looking out I saw the array of stars in the sky, it was a beautiful sight.
While looking out the window, a flash of red wizzed by, going to a buildings a few doors across from the inn, I was staying at. My curiosity took the best and I opened the window. Concealing my magic, I used chakra to walk up the building to the roof. From the roof I could see the person, it was clear to me that it was Gaara, but I was unsure as to if he noticed me.
Jumping across the roofs of a few buildings, I arrived at the one he was on. Before I could try to go up to him and say hi, sand wrapped around my ankle. He looked over to me only to have his eyes widen when he noticed it was me. "Why are you here?" He asked plainly, sand still wrapped around my ankle but significantly less tighter, "To kill you." I said in a way which I thought made it seem very clear that I was joking. He didn't take it that way as the sand travelled up my leg, tightening. Panicking I cleared the air up, "I'm joking, I'm joking. I'm here on a mission to try set things right between the Leaf and the Sand." The sand now completely retracted from me. Smiling, I walked over to the red head and sat next to him, I half expected him to back away or protest, but he said nothing.
