You know that feeling when nothing seems real, and it's just a really bad dream? That was my life without her.

I remember in the 8th grade, when she had to move. Yeah, I missed her. She had been by my side for 5 years. Now, ever since I joined Anthem Lights, she had been by my side again.

It's the same thing over again. Go to sleep. Wake up. Go to work. Visit her. Go home. Eat. And repeat. That's all it had been for the past two months.

I felt alone. The house was empty and quiet. Juliet was with my mom, and Avery was still in a coma.

I just sat there, staring at the wall. The TV was off, every light was off, but the lamp and the clock kept ticking. Something that could slowly drive a person insane.

I could feel myself slipping. Mainly from my reality. Life wasn't the same. It wasn't happy and cheerful as it was with Avery.

I sighed as my phone went, rippingg through the silence. I didn't bother checking it as I answered.

"Hello?" I asked quietly.

"Caleb Grimm?" Liliah's voice came through.

"Yeah. Yeah." I muttered, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong, but you need to get down here." She stated.

"Is it Avery?" I asked.

"Caleb, just come down here. It'll be easier to explain." She sighed.

I rushed to the hospital, then up to the ICU. The all too familiar part of the hospital.

Liliah stood outside Avery's door, holding a small clipboard. She pushed herself off the wall as her eyes landed on me.

"What's going on?" I asked frantically.

"Calm down. Avery's fine. Remember the miscarriage she had?" Liliah questioned.

I nodded, "What about it?"

"Her doctor did an ultrasound, seeing how her body was taking care of the dead fetus. He found a heartbeat. You're wife is pregnant, and the baby is alive." Liliah announced.

I froze, "H-How is that possible? She's in a coma."

"Listen to me. Her body can still develop the fetus, when the baby is ready, we'll take her for a C-Section." She stated. I was absolutely frozen. Like the world just stopped. Liliah looked at me worriedly as I became light-head. She placed her hand on my shoulder, "Come on. You need to sit down,"

I nodded slowly, and entered my wife's room. She laid there, lifeless, as always. Her skin pale, her dark hair laid against the pillow.

I sat in the chair next to her bed. I swallowed and looked to Liliah. "How far along is she?"

"Fourteen weeks." She replied.

"Wow." I mumbled.

She smiled, "Only a couple more weeks then we can tell the sex of the baby."

"Thank you." I whispered.

Liliah sighed, "Just find me if you need anything."

I nodded as Liliah left. I took my wife's hand in mine and my eyes drifted to stomach. Only a slight bump had formed. I wouldn't have been able to see it if they hadn't told me.

I gently lifted my other hand, setting it over the bump. I smiled slighty.

"You're alive. My little baby's alive. I just wish your momma would wake up to meet you. We'll be okay. You'll be healthy, your momma will wake up soon, we'll be okay. We have God with us. You're our miracle baby." I whispered, a tear sliding down my cheek.

I stood in my mom's hotel room, with Juliet asleep on my hip. I don't understand how, but she was sleeping peacefully. I hadn't had a peaceful sleep the night before Avery left.

"What's going on, Caleb?" Mom asked, "You're really quiet."

"I was told that Avery had a miscarriage, but the doctor found a heart beat. Our baby's alive." I stated.

She grinned, "That's great, baby. I'm halpy for you."

I shrugged, "It's just gonna be hard to choose a name if she doesn't wake up in time."

Mom came forward, placing her hand on my shoulder. She smiled, "Give to God. He's on your side."

"Thanks mom." I whispered.

She gave another smile, then pressed a kiss my cheek. "Everything will be okay, Caleb Andrew."
