10- Showing Juliet

| Caleb |

It was weird, having a pregnant wife who wasn't even conscious. Her little bump grew, day by day. I hadn't told anyone. Only my parents knew.

I didn't want sympathy at this point. I had to get myself together. For my daughter, my unborn baby and my wife. I was a single father at this moment. It wasn't easy.

Raising a daughter. Having a band. Bills and food. Now planning for our little miracle baby. It was definitely a different adventure. I still had faith in my God.

Juliet held onto my hand as we entered Avery's room. She had improved some since I had found out that our baby was alive.

Today, I was finding out the sex of the baby. This was the moment I was telling Juliet.

Her doctor was already in the room.

I sat down the chair, pulling Juliet into my lap.

"Now, baby. I have something to tell you." I started.

"Is momma okay?" She asked, her lip quivering.

I nodded, "Yes. Mommy is okay. But, mommy is having a little baby. You're gonna have a little sibling."

"Where is the baby?" She questioned.

I laughed lightly. This was the question I was waiting for. Every child asked that.

"God put the baby in mommy's tummy." I answered, "Do you want to see the baby?"

She quickly nodded. The doctor was already turning on the machine.

Juliet looked to the screen, all her focus on that. Soon enough, the baby was on the screen. Juliet gasped quietly.

A little outline of a small baby. My baby.

"He's healthy. He'll be a healthy baby for sure." The doctor stated.

I smiled, "It's a boy?"

The doctor nodded, "Yes sir."

"You hear that baby? You're gonna have a little brother." I whispered.

Juliet was awed-struck. I knew she'd be a great sister. She got along with Alan's kids all the time.

"Wow." She mumbled.

She was amazed. Surprised. Excited, I guess you could say. So was I. I was finally getting a son. My daughter and son.

That next day, Juliet was at school while I was at the office. The guys were working, and I well, I was name searching.

I wanted something that simple, but complex and had a meaning.

Ethan meant strong.
Zeke meant God Strengthens.
Kane meant Fighter.
Andrew meant Strong & Manly.
Phoenix meant Reborn from the Ashes.

I had so many choices. But I wanted the right one. Especially one that Avery would love.

"Hey, bro. Why are looking at names?" Joey asked.

Chad and Alan looked up to me, a confused look on their faces.

"The miscarriage wasn't a miscarriage. Her doctor found a heartbeat on our baby. We're having a boy." I grinned.

I was stoked for my little boy to arrive. I'd be a dad again, Juliet would be a big sister. I couldn't wait.

"Hey! That's amazing man!" Alan exclaimed.

"Juliet's so excited. I can't wait." I smiled, then my smile fell, "I just wish Avery would come out of her coma. They say she's improving some."

"That's really great. God's working, Caleb. Have patience." Alan reassured.

"Now, I'm just trying to pick a name. I have a few, but I need one." I sighed.

Juliet was asleep on the couch in Avery's room. I was kneeled in front of my wife. My right hand in her hand, and my left on her growing baby bump. Which happened to so noticeable by now.

"Thank you, God. Thank you for not giving up on me when I had almost given up on you. Thank you for this little boy of mine. For improving Avery's health. For keeping my daughter safe." I whispered, "For everything you have done. Thank you."

"Baby brother," Juliet mumbled. I looked back to her, and she was still asleep. I bet she dreaming about the baby. Heck, I even had dreams.

Raising our little boy, with him & Juliet running around the yard. With Avery healthy once again.

I leaned up, gently pressing a kiss to Avery's belly.

"Hey, baby boy. I know this isn't the best situation, but you're loved. I love you, your big sister loves you, even mommy loves you. We all love you. Your uncles are excited to meet you already. Your aunt Charis is really excited. Along with your gramma, and grandpa." I smiled, "I can't wait. And I'm gonna try my best to be a good dad for you. For you and Juliet."
