Things seemed to return to normal at least on the surface. Jisoo was in prison where he was going to spend the next fifteen years of his life for attempted murder and slander. As for him Scoups, his album had sold thirty million copies and was still selling. He was satisfied with the whole thing. He had already toured half of the Asian countries and he was returning to Seoul to complete his tour. He had one more thing to do.
He took a deep breath before knocking on the door.
"One second!" The sound of her voice shook him but he remained strong. Soon the door opened and he looks at his mother. Her eyes was full of shock for a while until tears began to form in her eyes.
"Seungcheol!" she cried. Scoups couldn't answer. Without a word, she drew him into the house and cried on his shoulder holding him close. Her tears wet his shirt but he didn't mind. She looked into his eyes
"Eomma!" He whispered almost in tears.
"Yeobo!" she shouted.
"What?" He heard the grumpy voice of his father answer.
"Come, your son is back"
"Seungcheol ah?" His father shouted and before his mother could reply, Mr Choi had appeared in the living room. He stood there at the center just staring at his son. He frowned.
"What are you doing back here? You should have stayed where you were"
"abuji, I'm so sorry. I never should have left. I've missed you all so much" Scoups cried, tears pouring down his face.
"Do you know how we felt everyday for the last five years? You never contacted us, not even once. You refused all our calls, never replied a single letter. The only times we got to see you was on TV. Did you know that your mother nearly died because of you?"
Scoups turned to his mother with worried eyes.
"She had a stroke and was in the hospital for nearly two weeks. I tried to contact you but you refused to see me"
"Eomma, Biane. Just kill me. I don't deserve to be your son"
"That's right" His father thundered. "I wonder what kind of child abandons his parents and does not care to check up on them for the last five years just because they were not in support of his career"
"Seungcheol appa, please forgive him. Remember he's our only child. I know he did wrong but he's sorry and he has returned. That is all that matters"
Seungcheol sank to his knees. " Eomma, Appa, forgive me! I'm so sorry for being a bad son"
His father sighed and held his arms, drawing him up.
"Stand up son and wipe your tears"
Scoups stood up looking directly at his father. He wiped his tears. Mother chuckled.
"Who would have thought Scoups could cry" she chuckled. Scoups smiled. "Does this mean you have forgiven me?"
His parents looked at each other.
"Of course, we forgive you"
The happiness enveloping his heart was so big that he held his parents in a tight hug. His parents didn't mind and simply hugged back.
After the reunion, both men sat at the living room while Mrs Choi went to bring kimchi stew. His father asked him about his health and he replied.
"It's a shame what happened to Jisoo" His mother said as she returned to them holding the food.
"it is" Scoups nodded gravely.
"Come on eat!" his mother urged and they ate. After eating, Scoups smiled widely.
"Oh, I missed your cooking Eomma" he praised.
"Ensure that you come every weekend so Eomma can cook for you"
Her son's face fell. Mr Choi stared at him.
"Are you alright Seungcheol?" He asked and Scoups shook his head.
"Is it about Jisoo"
"No! No way!"
His parents looked at eachother other confused.
"Then what is it?"
Scoups didn't reply. His mother looked thoughtful for a while until she smiled to herself.
"It's your manager isn't it? What was his name?"
She looked at her husband for assist but the man looked blank.
"Jeonghan!" Scoups said looking defeated. His parents smiled at him.
"So the rumors were true?" His father said with an easy smile. Scoups could only nod.
His mother sat by his side and stroke his arms.
"Oh my beautiful son, you really love him don't you?"
Scoups looked at his mother, his eyes full of the pain that had been bottled up inside him for almost a month since Jeonghan left him.
"I really love him eomma but he left me so that he wouldn't ruin my career"
"So what do you intend to do about this?" His father asked crossing his arms.
"I really don't know"
His mother pouted. "Are you really my son? You always go for what you want most not caring about what others think"
"What do you think I should do?"
They didn't answer him and just gave him a knowing smile. Scoups smiled back. He knew what to do.
The tour was great. Everything had gone well. Scoups was already drenched in sweat as he sang the last song of the day to over a million screaming fans. After the song, he waved at the crowd.
"I love you Korea"
"We love you too!" They shouted.
Scoups stood looking at the faces of his beloved fans. For years, he had succumbed to their wishes but from now on, he was going to look out for himself.
"Everyone, I have an announcement to make"
There was sudden silence. "Today, my contract with Pledis has ended and also today is the last day you will all see me on stage"
There was hushed silence.
"I have not been entirely honest with you...i Scoups am gay"
There was whisperings at all sides. "last month, you all heard the rumors about me and my Manager Yoon Jeonghan"
He took a deep breath. Gosh, this was more difficult than he had thought but he was going to go through it.
"The rumors were all true. We were in a relationship. Saying all of these is the most difficult thing that I have ever done but I can't continue to live a lie. Jeonghan broke up with me in other to protect my career but today I'm not going to give up on my happiness"
"I know that thousands of you are going to be upset. That is why I have decided to retire from music"
The crowd gasped.
"I am really sorry for not being the Scoups you thought I was but I'm tired of hiding who i really am. I want to be able to live a normal life with the person I love. I won't feel bad if you don't accept me. It's all right, I'll just know that I'm doing the right thing"
"I love you all so much. You have made this five years of my life a meaningful one and for that, I am grateful. Thanks for all the support and love"
Some fans were crying their eyes out. others looked sad while few looked angry.
He waved one last time to the crowd. "Good bye!" he bowed and exited the stage as quickly as possible. At that moment, he felt the weight in his chest lifted. Several of the staffs congratulated him.
Mingyu, Wonwoo and Hoshi congratulated him back stage.
"I didn't know you were going to do it" Mingyu said.
"That was great hyung" Hoshi said with a big smile.
"Thanks!" he whispered.
Mingyu laughed and starred at Wonwoo.
"Maybe I should come out too?"
Scoups shrugged. "I don't think that's necessary. Many people already have an idea about you. It's pretty obvious"
Mingyu and Wonwoo rested their heads against each other smiling broadly. He felt envious just looking at them. His need for Jeonghan increased so he looked at Hoshi.
"Is everything ready?"
"yes Hyung!" He said. Mingyu looked at him.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
Hoshi and Scoups shared a smile before the younger answered. "He's going to get the man he loves"
Jeonghan sighed as he took a sip of coffee. He had gotten a job as a freelance reporter for Asian culture in a broadcasting station in New York. He loved his new job and it was a lot easier for him working at home. He looked at his phone and scrolled through news on Scoups. He must be finishing his tour now but his breath hung in his throat when he saw the headlines.
"He came out?" He yelled in a loud voice. He couldn't believe it. He was shocked. He saw a video of the tour and watched it. Tears fell down his eyes as he watched Scoups confess to the whole world. He had seen how difficult it was for him to give it all up. He cried for his love.
Suddenly the door bell rang. He wiped his tears, dropping his phone and ran to the door. He almost slumped when he saw Scoups smiling broadly at him.
"Seungcheol, what are you doing here?"
"Can I come in?" Scoups said pushing his way into the house with his belongings.
"Wow, your apartment is really small"
Jeonghan stared at him quietly.
"You retired!"
Scoups smiled coming closer to him.
"I did! "
"But music is your life"
Scoups nodded "I love music but it isn't my life. I want to spend the rest of my life with you"
Jeonghan laughed, tears streaming down his face"You are really crazy Cheol! I watched that video. You are crazy"
"Crazy about you!" He hugged him tightly "I missed you so much Hannie" he whispered into his ear.
Jeonghan wrapped his arms around him. "I missed you too"
"I love you" He whispered again.
"I love you too" Jeonghan whispered back and they kissed slowly and passionately until it quickly turned heated. Jeonghan pulled back first.
"Now that you are here, what are you going to do?"
"Mmh, maybe open up a coffee shop, I'm thinking of going back to school and becoming a doctor. I talked it out with my family"
His hands were on Jeonghan's waist this whole time.
"You have reconciled with your family
"They promised to see us soon. They want to meet you in particular"
"Well I want to meet them too" Jeonghan replied sincerely.
"Hoshi and your friends all send their regards"
Jeonghan nodded happily.
"Since I have so much money, I will laze around for a while until then, you and I will do a lot of interesting things"
"I have a job"
"I don't care"
He suddenly lifted him into his arms bridal style. Gosh, this man was strong, carrying another man like him without breaking a sweat.
" I think we should get married"
"We will need to become citizens first!"
"I will wait as long as it takes" He kissed Jeonghan.
"I love you"
Jeonghan blushed hard. "Pabo!" He whispered and squealed as Scoups rushed them into his bedroom. Now, they were never letting go. Never again.
