One Ring to Bind Them

The next day, Dean went to Cas's house to pick him up. His dad thought they were going to school. Wrong! Cas got into Dean's Impala and kissed him.

"Hi, Dean."

"Hi, huggy bear."

"Don't call me that."

"I like it."

"I sound like a puppet on a PBS special." Dean chuckled. He drove to the mall so they could buy their class rings. They looked around for a while until they found one they liked. They both liked the same ring.

"How about this? We both get the same ring and share it? It could be like a symbol of unity." Cas smiled.

"I like it." Dean looked around to make sure no one was looking, and he pulled Cas in for a kiss. They kept kissing until they heard a voice behind them.

"Castiel?" They both jumped and looked at her.

"Um...hey." Cas greeted shyly.

"Cas, who's this?" Dean asked.

"This is my cousin, Anna."

"Cas has told me all about you. I didn't think you were quite this...close."

"What do you want?" Cas asked, sounding annoyed.

"You guys really shouldn't do that in public."

"What the hell does that mean?" He asked through gritted teeth.

"That isn't based on my own personal opinion, I'm just saying there are a lot of homophobes in this town. Especially Crowley."

"I don't give a rat's ass about Crowley."

"You will when he tells Uncle Jimmy. And you know he will. And even if he doesn't find out, you know Alastair will. He's a nosey bastard."

"You know what, you can go screw yourself. I love Dean. And nothing can get in the way of that. Not Crowley, not Alastair, not Azazel or Uriel or anyone. Because I love Dean," He grabbed Dean's hand. "And that's that."

Dean just stared at him. He nearly cried with happiness.

"I love you too, Cas." He whispered. Cas looked at him and smiled. They kissed again, making Anna nervous. Anyone could be watching. They stopped and looked at each other.

"Let's buy that ring, huh?" Cas whispered.

"One ring to bind them." Cas laughed.

"Really? Lord of the Rings?"

"Don't hate on Baggins. They're good people."

"Oh, not as good as you. You ever seen Battlestar Galactica? It's pretty good."

"Freaking geek."

"That's right, baby. I'm your geek."

"Hell yeah. Star Trek?"

"Eventually."

"Really? You've never seen it?"

"I'd watch it with you."

"Never have I thought a date could be two guys watching Star Trek." Cas laughed.

"Guys, you know I'm still here, right?" Anna spoke up. Dean looked at her.

"So what?"

They bought their one ring, disregarding everything Anna had to say. That was their tragic mistake.
