Another Little Surprise
Cas awoke to find Dean asleep on the couch with him. He looked at his watch. It was 5:45.
"Dean," He whispered. "Dean!" He whispered a bit louder. Dean snorted as he woke.
"I'm awake." He muttered. Cas laughed.
"It's almost six. We should get ready." Dean groaned.
"Aw, hell."
"Don't worry. It's the last day. We get to do whatever we want, remember?"
"Can't we just skip it? Everyone else will."
"If everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you?"
"Depends. What kind of bridge?" Cas chuckled.
"The Golden Gate Bridge."
"So there's water?"
"In winter."
"Ooh, ice. I'd probably jump if you were there to catch me." They both smiled. Dean gave him a kiss.
"Maybe we can leave early." Cas caved.
"Yes!" He got up and headed toward his room to change.
"And that's a big maybe!" Cas called after him. He could hear Dean laugh as he entered his room. He laid down on the couch and closed his eyes, waiting for Dean to get ready. He almost went back to sleep until he felt Dean's lips pressing against his. They stayed there like that for a while until Dean pulled away. Cas looked up at him.
"I don't wanna go."
"Okay, David Tennant." They both laughed at that.
"As I slowly regenerate into Matt Smith."
"I'll be the bow tie to your Eleven."
"That would be very cool of you."
"You could be the Ten to my TARDIS."
"Well, you are very sexy." They kissed again.
"Can we skip school now?" Cas thought for a moment.
"Oh, what the hell." Dean's smile grew brighter as he sat down on the couch, kissing Cas relentlessly. He held nothing back. He was madly in love with this man, and nothing could change that. They stopped and looked at each other for a moment.
"Cas?"
"Yes, Dean?"
"It's six in the morning."
"Yes it is."
"We shouldn't have to be awake at six in the morning." Cas chuckled.
"Wanna sleep in?"
"Hell yeah. To the bedroom?"
"I don't feel like getting up."
"Who said you had to?" Dean scooped Cas up in his arms bridal style. "I love you, Cas."
"I love you too, Dean." Dean gave him a kiss on the forehead and carried him to his room. Cas fell asleep in his arms on the way there. He set him on the bed and laid down next to him, the two of them under the covers. He held him close and closed his eyes, soon drifting to sleep.
********************
Cas awoke in Dean's bed, Dean still asleep next to him. He glanced at his watch. It was 10:30. He would lay there next to Dean until he woke up. After five minutes or so of listening to Dean snore, he began to speak.
"Cas?" He mumbled.
"Yeah, baby?"
"I'm sorry." Cas looked at him. His eyes were still closed, perhaps he was talking in his sleep.
"Sorry for what?"
"I'm sorry I let you down." Cas grabbed his hand.
"You've never let me down. Okay? Don't ever think that."
"The waitress." He breathed the words.
"Forget the waitress. Alright? Forget her. I'll gladly pass up all the waitresses in the world for you," He started snoring again. Cas smiled. He gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You could never let me down."
Ten minutes later, Cas was still in bed with Dean. He was about to fall asleep until Dean woke up.
"What time is it?" He asked.
"10:45." Cas answered tiredly.
"Isn't it an early dismissal at school?"
"I think so."
"I've gotta pick up Sammy in like two hours." Cas sighed and closed his eyes.
"Kay." Dean smiled.
"You just wanna sleep all day, don't you?"
"Mm-hm."
"That's not what you'll be saying when I get back." He practically sang. Cas smiled.
"What're you talking about?"
"I'm talking about what I've got planned for us."
"What do you have planned?"
"Shh, don't wanna ruin the surprise." He whispered.
"Just tell me something."
"C'mon, Cas, it's a secret."
"I won't tell anyone." Dean chuckled.
"Well, Sam and his new friend Gabriel are gonna be here."
"That's nice." His eyes were still closed. Dean's smile grew brighter.
"Want me to sing you to sleep?" Cas only nodded.
"Know that you're sad, hurt in the past.
Got you believing love won't last.
It's not hard to tell, you've lost all your faith.
Don't blame us all for a fool's mistake.
Things they advise, I should let go.
They're calling you ice, then I see you glow.
You're making me crazy, what can I say?
I'd do anything to take the pain away.
When you gonna realize that you're lonely?
I can see it in your eyes, you don't have to be.
When you gonna realize I'm the remedy?
Won't you give my love a try?
You'll be safe with me.
You'll be safe with me.
Something so strong could take on the world.
I'm not just talking 'bout being your whole world.
The things I want us to do.
Get into me like I'm into you.
Walking in the park, watching leaves fall.
Lovers in the dark, counting every star.
Finally when your trust is in me.
I'll give you my love, real, slow and tender.
When you gonna realize that you're lonely?
I can see it in your eyes, you don't have to be.
When you gonna realize, I'm the remedy?
Won't you give my love a try?
You'll be safe with me.
When you gonna realize that you're lonely?
I can see it in your eyes, you don't have to be.
When you gonna realize I'm the remedy?
Won't you give my love a try?
You'll be safe with me.
You're here in my arms and that's how I want it, boy.
When the morning comes you'll know what I feel, so real.
Dream of your smile, night after night.
The one that you hide from the daylight.
Stop all those tears, doubt in your mind.
Leave all your fears way behind.
When you gonna realize that you're lonely?
I can see it in your eyes, you don't have to be.
When you gonna realize I'm the remedy?
Won't you give my love a try?
You'll be safe with me.
When you gonna realize that you're lonely?
I can see it in your eyes, you don't have to be.
When you gonna realize I'm the remedy?
Won't you give my love a try?
You'll be safe with me.
You'll be safe with me."
By the time he was finished, Cas was snoring softly. Dean gave him a kiss on the cheek. He stayed there with him for a little while before going to pick up Sam. When he returned, Cas was still curled up under the blanket. He laid down next to him.
"Cas," He whispered into his ear. "Cas?" He sang it this time. Cas turned to face Dean and just held him.
"I've been waiting for you." His eyes were still closed. Dean smiled and held him back.
"You outta come into the living room. Just wait until you see the surprise."
"You mean the infamous secret?"
"Yes, the infamous secret. And I'm not carrying you this time." Cas groaned.
"Why not?"
"Just get out here."
"Can't you bring the surprise to me?" Dean chuckled. He got up.
"It's one in the afternoon. Tick, tock." He walked out of the bedroom and back into the living room. A couple minutes later, Cas walked in. Dean handed him a hairbrush.
"Um, is this the surprise, or am I having a bad hair day?" Dean laughed.
"That's part of the surprise." Cas saw Sam and another boy on the couch. It must've been Gabriel.
"Dean, what're you doing?" Dean went to the coffee table and picked up a CD.
"It's karaoke night!" A big smile lit up his face. Cas chuckled.
"I've sung once, let's keep it that way."
"Come on, Cas," Gabriel begged. "Live a little!"
"Seriously though, hairbrushes?"
"Yeah, we don't have microphones." Sam said. Cas chuckled again.
"Come on, Cas. Just a couple songs?" Dean pleaded with puppy dog eyes. Cas caved.
"Just a few." Everyone cheered victoriously. Gabriel jumped off the couch.
"Time to party like its 1999!"
