Jessie's POV

     I wake up with a smile on my face, excited for today.

    James and I haven't had a day to ourself since a week ago when I gave him a hand job in his underwear. Every time my name is brought up his cheeks flush red and his eyes dart away but as I watch from the back of Cody's mind, I can never help the smirk that crosses my lips when I see that look in his eyes.

    And I've missed seeing it for myself.

   So before Cody went to sleep last night, I told Cody to let me have today and he complied willingly saying he needed some sleep anyway.

    My bean is so considerate.

    I open my eyes against the morning light and turn my head to James who is cuddled into my neck, his breath fanning across my Mark making my shiver slightly in delight.

    Though I take it in good stride, I wish James and I had more time together. But being the Alpha its a bit of an ego bruiser to be manhandled and put into submission by a wolf that's considered an omega because of my human genes.

   Doesn't make the avoidance sting any less.

    The problem with my baby isn't being awkward when we're together but rather getting him to agree with be with me in the first place. Once we get here we're golden. And let's just say I've gotten creative in tricking James into being with me.

    I smirk to myself as I raise up onto my elbow, pulling away slightly from James and I watch as he automatically frowns searching for the warmth of my body.

    "Come back." He grumbles and I lean in closer to his ear, until my lips brush again it before I answer him.

     "No." I tell him, just one word.

     And that word is enough for him to realize that it's not his soft bean hovering over him, but rather me, my voice a few tones deeper than my wolf. And of course, James noticed right away. His eyes snap over and shoot to mine, pupils dilating once he sees that it is in fact, me and not Cody. "Jessie." He says, his voice a bit softer than normal with sleep resting against it.

     "James." I answer him and his cheeks begin to paint themselves red as they always do the longer that I stare at him, falling into his perfect green eyes.

     "You're staring again," He tells me, grumbling like a grumpy butt but I let him, admiring him even with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face.

     "You like it." I tell him and he scoffs before turning towards me.

      "I hate it so stop it." He tells me and I give him a deadpanned look that makes his advert his eyes, the both of us knowing that he can't fool me, even if our Link is almost always closed when we're together. Embarrassed, he does his best to change the subject and I don't mind, happy to spend my day away making him stumble over his words as I think about him swallowing my cock. "What are we doing today?"

      "I don't have a plan other than to spend it with you. What do you want to do?" I ask James but he avoids my eyes before he shrugs as if not knowing what he wants to do. "Let's have a day in, me and you, relaxing." I tell him and he peaks at me.

    "Just relaxing?"

     "Me and you." I promise and he smiles before he nods his approval. I get up off the bed and pull on a pair of sweats.

      "Where are you going?" He asks me and I give him a smile softly, liking the fact that even if he doesn't like to admit it, he can be adorably clingy with me when I finally get us together again.

      " Give me two minutes." I tell him before I turn away from my pouting big baby on the bed and walk out of the room, closing it shut tightly behind him. I don't care if he's Alpha or not or if he grew up with the wolves in this pack. When he's with me only I get to see him half naked.

     I make my way downstairs and I turn to the left, nodding towards a few people that are lounging on the couch as they call out their respects to me.

     And of course, there's a few girls in the corner who are staring at me and giggling and it's only then that I realized that I didn't put on a shirt along with my sweats.

    Well, except for James, I say, if you got it, flaunt it.

    James has to wear sweaters and loose james all year around. Not really, but if it was an option, I would definitely pick that. I smirk to myself as I knock on the half open door to Zee's office.

     "Come in." She calls but I still hesitate.

    "Is Rain in there?" I ask, and there's a snort from in the room that tells me she is. "Are there any yucky parts flying around." And they both laugh at me but I don't think it's funny. A few weeks ago Cody came down to talk to Zee and her..... breast.... boobs.... boobies, whatever the fuck you want to call them, were showing loudly on display.

     Even as a more dominant wolf, I have never looks at a woman and gone, "yum" so seeing lady parts was definitely a scarring experience. Cody was just upset about seeing someone other than our Mate naked.

    "All covered in here." Zee calls with a snicker and I enter the room with one eye closed, breathing a sigh of relief when I find that they're on separate side of the desk. "Hey, Jessie, what's up?"

    "Today is our day off. If anyone needs us, they don't. And if they really need us, send them to Alex." I tell her and she writes it down on a random notepad on her desk before nodding and looking up at me.
    
    "Anything else?" She asks and I shake my head before pausing and nodding.

    "Yeah, stop being perverts in the office. You both have a room, you know." I tell them, ignoring the thoughts in my head about all the public's places that this body has been out in public doing all sorts of things it shouldn't.  But that's not the point of this conversation.

     "Where the fun in that?" Rain asks me with a smirk and I shake my head at them before leaving the room and high tailing it upstairs.

    I enter the room with a smile only to see a frowning James sitting up right on the bed.

   "That was three  minutes." He tells me and I give him my best lopsided grin that I know always melts him into the fluffy puddle he truly is when we are together.

    "I guessed." I tell him with big puppy dog eyes and his eyes soften as I come to him and raise his chin so that my lips can meet his in a kiss that makes my chest feel warm. "Let's watch a movie yeah?" I ask him and he grins and nods into the kiss, my lips curling into a smile at his enthusiasm.

     Because it's days like this, where the sun is muted through the curtains and his face stays like a tomato all day making me smile and coo over him, that makes being the wolf and not the human, a little less annoying. It's days like that that remind me that no matter how long it takes for the two of us to get more comfortable around each other and be content, we have the rest of our lives to love and care for each other and for him, I can be patient until the end of time.
