Chapter 1: New Experience

The gang was then surrounded by endless rows of trees towering over them, and a path leading into a wooden village.
"Ah shit, well that's one way to get out of that hell." Killer chuckled, getting up from the ground.
Nightmare also got up, looking around him to see if his crew was alright and not injured. He noticed that they were wearing much more fantasy-like attire.
A small glowing blue fairy flew in front of the gang. It opens its mouth as it begins to speak, "Welcome, are you new here? Do you need a tut-" But was quickly interrupted with a stick thrown at it, destroying it in the process. Everyone looked towards the culprit and no one was surprised when they saw Killer, arm stretched, just from throwing something.
"What the fuck, Killer?" Error growled, glaring at Killer, "What? The little shit was getting on my nerves." Killer responded.

"Don't bother with that now, we have other things to be worried about." Dust growled at the two. Killer placed his hand on top of his chest from the unprovoked aggression.

When Nightmare looked around their surroundings, they were surrounded by forest, endless rows of trees. Some were dead but most were alive and well. To the side of him, he could see a big pond that was as clear as the sky, it reflected the setting sun. It made nice scenery but he much preferred the view he had in his office. The moonlight shone brightly and he could see animals within the forest.

As Nightmare was finished looking at the landscape, he turned towards his team. The closer he looked to his group, he could see that they had different clothing on.

Leaning against a tree, Killer rubbed at the dull ache at his side. His outfit consists of a deep indigo robe with gold accents. A large metal plate, placed over his chest and a golden sash seen accompanying his outfit draped over his shoulder and across his torso. Paired with this was two long navy boots,

Getting up from the ground, Killer made his way to the monochromatic male. "Yo, Crossy, you good?"
The said male, groaned but nodded at his companion.

Cross was now adorning a full suit of armour, along with a large purple cape that wrapped around the base of his neck, and down the back of his knees. He had a soft purple gemstone located on the front of his chestplate.

"What is this?" Cross question, tapping the front of his chestplate, where the gemstone stayed secured.
"It's tanzanite!" Horror responded with hidden excitement.
The gang looked towards the large skeleton, "How would you know that?" Killer asked.
Horror hesitated, looking away from the group as he remained silent.
"Because rocks are cool, if you were smart, you would be able to tell." Dust quickly added through gritted teeth.

The once hooded skeleton had hardly any clothing to wear besides a thin shirt, with what looked to be animal's fur draped over his shoulder. What kept the fur secured over his shoulder was a small belt with worn bandages that decorated his arms. Surprisingly, Dust was missing his signature hood and scarf that he always wore.

The big skeleton wore a red hood that covered the hole in his skull which obscured it from view. Belts holding onto different sized knives were scattered around his body. Nightmare knew Horor didn't have any knowledge on small, light weapons so with all the knives, he's surprised that Horror managed not to injure Dust or himself.

After looking at Horror, Nightmare started to look around to find Error. The black boned skeleton can be found sitting on top of a hollowed out log. The coat he had on before was now a dark blue robe, draped over his shoulders making a Y. On the sleeves of the inner robe were faint glowing symbols, even if Nightmare tried to look closer, it was still unidentifiable, so he assumed it must be the language of this world. Around his waist was a belt that connected a small bag and two glass bottles with some strange liquid inside.

Curious for what he may be wearing, he looked around for anything he could use a reflection and found a small pond. Crawling towards the pond, he glanced down at his reflection. He wore a forest green vest over a brown dress shirt. Around his waist were two belts holding small pouches over his hips and he was wearing long boots that ended close to his cabs. A thin yet strong vine, draped across his body, in place of his tentacles.

Nightmare was astonished that he could only muster a small sound of awe.
"Oh, shit. We're looking good," Turning towards Killer, he could be seen checking himself out in the same pond Nightmare was sitting at.
"Boss, what should we do now?" Cross asked.
He was squatting besides Dust, who was shivering and clutching onto his bare arms, as a soft breeze blew past them. Horror tried looking around for anything that could help his freezing friend, but to no use. Their surroundings were only forest, so not much could be done about the breeze.

Nightmare hummed in thought before he began discussing a temporary plan, something that would be useful for the gang to get out of this mess. "We must leave this forest, and find anything that could help." He said.
Suddenly, a giant beast reached the group. Every step it took with its multitude of legs, shook the entire forest. It stood 15 feet tall, it had claws the size of a dog and four blood shot eyes that stared into the souls of the group. Its body was covered in large blue scales that reached towards its tail.

The large beast stood tall. Smoke blew out of its nostrils as it stared at the group.

"Holy shi-" Was heard from Error, but was cut off by the beast, as it lifted its clawed foot and slammed it into the ground, shaking the floor beneath them.
Swiftly the gang jumped out of the way. "What the fuck is that?!" Cross yelled.
With their previous battle experience, they summoned their weapons, ready to defend themselves from the beast. Dust, Cross, Error and Nightmare summoned their magic or at least tried to, as a quiet but loud beep rang. Their weapons suddenly backfired and attacked them instead.
"SHIT!" Error yelled once he got caught in his strings, falling to the ground with a pained expression.

Killer patted himself, "where the fuck is my..." He glanced towards Horror, smirking as he ran towards him. Attached to Horror's attire, Killer snatched one of the bigger knives before sprinting towards the four-eyed beast. Using his knife, he slashed at the scaled hip only to be stopped abruptly mid swing.
"Don't do that!" A high-pitched voice called out.
"What?" Killer asked, rubbing his skull as he glanced around.
"You're a healer!" It squeaked. "You can't damage it, you have healing magic!"
"I don't give a fuck about what you say" He growled, swatting his hand at the small fairy. "Now, go away!"

The black eyed skeleton began getting increasingly more agitated the more they spoke.

The little creature became more frantic as Killer ignored it, its voice started to get increasingly more high pitched the more it urged KIller to stop.

On Killer's right, Dust could be seen holding his skull, a blaster pointed directly at him, ready to shoot him. Before it shot, Horror quickly pushed Dust out of the way, injuring himself in the process.
"Horror!" Dust screamed, hearing the pained yelp coming from his fellow companion.

The dark beast inhaled, powering up a single breath of fire. With its enormous snout, it let out a big gush of flame aiming right at the group.
Seeing as Horror and Dust was in the path of the fire breathing beast, Cross quickly rushed to their side and lifted up his shield. The small shield increased its size and blocked the incoming attack.
Cross continued to block the damage, but it was getting increasingly harder as the beast started to use its multiple limbs to claw at the party.
"I need help! I cannot hold up for much longer!" Cross shouted as he began to waver.

As Cross started to stumble, the shield started to shrink, causing Horror to crouch more so he wouldn't get hit by the flames.

Cross kept holding up the shield and pushing it back into the fire breathing beast, so he could stop it from hurting his team.
Quickly Horror and Dust ran off as Cross distracted the beast, and made it to safety behind a boulder where Nightmare and Killer were hiding behind.

Suddenly, a soft angelic voice reached the ears of the group. Strangely, after hearing the voice, the group now felt more energised and more stronger than before. An arrow was shot into one of the eyes of the giant beast, making the beast falter, this allowed Cross, Dust and Horror to get out of the beast's line of sight.
A light blue figure then appeared and punched the beast. It whimpered and made an escape from the strong attacks.

Curiously, the party looked towards the newcomers.
"Oh, it's you," Nightmare grumbled realising that their saving grace was no other than his brother and his little group of goofs.
"It's nice to see you too, brother," Dream replied.
"Well since you are here, I want to know which one of your idiots got you into this mess." Nightmare questioned, looking towards the duo behind him.
Dream sighed, and glared at a smiling Ink who was trying to get the attention of Nightrmare's gang.

Dream had a pale yellow robe, with golden accents, he had a light orangey-yellow cape around his neck. He had brown gloves and brown boots, and black pants. On Dream's head is a golden headband, with a golden jewel in the middle, in place of the usual golden crown he wore.

"I don't believe that you have a plan to get out of this place?" Nightmare asked
"Sadly, no. But we should make a plan to get out of here before shit goes down."
Nightmare's mouth was gaped, did his brother just swear? No, he couldn't have. His brother is pure. "Did you...Did you just swear?"
"What? Whatever, could you mean?"
"But-"
"Hey Dream! Wasn't I so cool !" interrupted Ink.
"Yes, you were" Dream replied.

Nightmare turned to the short protector and looked him up and down. Ink looks like a bard from one of those fantasy novels that Nightmare had read. The protector was wearing a beige dress shirt which was rolled up to the elbow. On top of the shirt was a brown vest, brown gloves, brown, puffy pants and a brown cape.. A belt with a small pocket was around his waist. The short skeleton was missing his usual sash with his colourful paints, so it was slightly concerning how expressive the emotionless skeleton was. On top of his skull was a brown feather that was magically stuck on his head.

To the left of the short guardian, Blue stood with his hands on his hips. The blue eyed skeleton was not in his usual metal armor but had nothing like that. He had bandages wrapped around his ribcage and some on his arms. He had a sleeveless coat and a blue cloth around his waist. The skeleton wore dark blue, baggy pants. Surprisingly, he had no shoes on.

"Why did I feel so much stronger when someone started to sing?" Cross asked, rubbing his skull.
"That was me!" Ink cheerful responded.
Shocked and disgusted, Error snapped, "YOU? HOW?"
"Magic~" Ink teased, making jazz hands which infuriated Error even more.

As the two bickered in the background, Dream cleared his throat, this caught the others' attention.
"We figured out that our magic may not react well to this universe, or game to be exact.. It's probably why you guys got attacked by your own magic".
"Why wouldn't this game tell us any of this information?"
"Maybe SOMEONE destroyed the thing that could've helped us," Dust glared at his black eyed teammate.
All Killer did was grin at him.
"We shouldn't stay here much longer" Horror suggested, knowing that they wouldn't have much time before the sun started to set and the group wasnt sure what was in the night.
"Right. But we must figure out what abilities we have since we figured that we must be in the game that Killer bought. " Nightmare instructed.

Dream walked up to Nightmare, "Hey...Do you think we could stick together while we're here? You know, because it could be dangerous to be going off by ourselves."
Nightmare looked suspiciously at Dream, "If we decide that you could travel with us, how would you help us in return?"
"Well, I can show you how this game works. Only what I know." Seeing that Nightmare was not pleased, Dream quickly added, "And! I can show you how you find your abilities. My class is a fighter, and at the bottom here," Dream gestured towards the bottom of what looked similar to an inventory. "And this would tell you how to use your skills, since you're a beginner."
Offended at being called a beginner, he huffed. Although Dream is useful, he is afraid that he may be stabbed in the back. "Fine, since you're useful right now, I don't see why not." Looking around, "but we must find a better place to stay, it's getting dark".
Dream beamed at this information, so he quickly went to grab his team so they could head off.

Suddenly, a small ping had alerted the pair. A small bar floated in front of the two, 'party of 9 unlocked'.
"Woah," Dream was heard mumbling.
Curiously, the positive guardian tapped on the floating bar and appeared, another yet bigger box. The box showed the status of the team, how much health they had, represented by a green bar and how much defense they had represented by a blue bar.

"Hey... Boss..." Nightmare looked to the side, but was met with the chest of the large skeleton. Which made him look up at the huge figure.
"Yes?"
"Where are we off to?" Horror inquired, tilting his head downwards towards his boss.
Nightmare lifted his hand up to his chin, "Hmm, if this is a game, then there must be a town nearby".
The silent skeleton nodded, and walked off to find his fellow trio.

Once everyone was together, Dream announced that they were heading towards the East.
"Hold on, who said you were leading?" Nightmare sneered.
Dream looked back, unfazed by the hostility, "I do know more than you about this world, so that's why I'm leading. Unless you want to get lost, your choice".
Nightmare was about to retort but a hand stopped him, he turned to the person who stopped him. It was Error, "just let him lead, he does know more than we do, he did save us before."
Nightmare begrudgingly stayed silent.
"Alright, let's head off"
