You'll Have To Count Mel Out

The meta-bomb was dropped by the Dominators, which prompted Cisco and Sara to simultaneously figure out how to pilot the Waverider and how to capture the bomb before it fell against the surface. It took them no longer than thirty minutes to catch it in a tractor beam to slow it down, at least.

Everyone else took the fighting to a rooftop on the edge of the city, secluding them from the rest of the city. They fought together while Barry distributed nano-tech on every Dominator he could get his hands on.

Worldwide, Dominator were still attacking. Kara and Barry took them on together, attaching devices to every Dominator on Earth.

"All devices are planted. Let me know when baby Melody and I can bring the pain," cooed Felicity.

"Baby's first 'Save the World,'" joked Ray.

The fighting on the rooftop commenced, everyone looking out for one another while simultaneously beating up Dominators of their own. They took out as many Dominators as possible as Firestorm found a way to condense the bomb.

"Do it now!"  shouted Barry.

In the midst of their fighting, the Dominators stopped throwing punches. They all tumbled backwards, their hands over their ears. Every Dominator on the rooftop left first, screeching loudly. They used their teleporters to transport back to the ship, every single one of them.

Oliver sighed. "We did it."

"No, Oliver," said Kara.

"We all did it," corrected Barry.

In the safety of the S.T.A.R. Labs hangar, the President insisted on honoring the team of heroes with recognition for saving their world. Tech Support received no special shout out, though it hadn't mattered. They knew their duties, and figured it was safer to not be in the public eye.

When the President and her team of press dispersed from the hangar, it was party time.

Felicity greeted everyone with a bottle of champagne in one arm and baby Melody in the other. She cheered, "Baby's First Popped Bottle of Champagne!" and posed for a picture for Caitlin.

Barry tried to scold Felicity for promoting alcohol to his child, but he couldn't help but laugh. Some part of him knew it was likely, if she was still alive, Parker would have made the same joke eventually.

"Can I hold her?" asked Kara, when Felicity began pouring her a glass. "One last time, please."

"Oh, yeah. She's all yours," agreed Felicity.

Kara took the baby and her glass of champagne, then noticed a meeting between Barry and Oliver. She headed their way.

"It's like looking into a mirror," said Felicity thoughtfully.

Ray tilted his head, eyes squinted after Kara, too.  "Yeah, you know what's funny? She really kinda looks like my cousin."

Kara joined her friends. "Hey, guys. Any of you ever save the world before?"

"Last year," said Barry casually.

"Mhm," agreed Oliver.

"Never gets old, does it?" asked Kara.

Barry nodded knowingly. "It sure beats screwing up the world."

"Hey, you are too hard on yourself," frowned Kara.

"That's usually what people tell me," joked Oliver.

"And for good reason, I'm sure," said Kara softly. She continued, when Oliver glared, "but, back on my Earth, its just me and my cousin. Between the two of us, we're more powerful than--"

"Everybody in this room combined," guessed Barry.

"No, no, that's the point! That's what you've all proven here. Meta-human or not, superpowers or not... You are Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

"Uh, I owe you an apology," said Oliver. "Keeping you at arms length was the wrong move. And, uh, the truth is, this Earth could use a Supergirl."

"That's funny, 'cause I was just thinking my Earth could use an Oliver Queen," said Kara, grinning wildly. She smiled wider when Melody placed her little hands on Kara's mouth. She kissed the little girl's hand. "Thank you, cutie."

"That was cute," agreed Oliver under his breath. He coughed when he realized he had uttered it aloud.

"Want to hold her?"

"Not a kid person."

Kara shrugged, agreeing. She continued, "I know you said you don't get unnerved, Oliver, but if you did, I think hardship is what makes us stronger. That's probably why these people look to you as their rock."

"You guys feeling the group hug?" asked Barry cautiously.

"No."

"Come on!" cheered Kara.

Barry and Kara shuffled forward. They trapped Oliver in a hug, careful to not crush Melody, who laughed and laughed while being squeezed. Kara pulled away first, but Melody squealed unhappily.

"Hey, Kara," called Cisco.

"Here, hold her for a second," said Kara quickly, shoving Melody into the opened arms of Oliver Queen. She raced to meet Cisco.

Oliver held the child in his hands, away from his chest, and with a frown taking up his whole face. He moved his arms closer to his body, though he was entirely uncomfortable by the baby in his arms. Melody didn't take notice. She clapped her hands happily.

"She feels oddly too comfortable in my arms," muttered Oliver.

Barry didn't respond to Oliver. He was too busy taking a selfie with himself, Oliver, and Melody without the latter knowing about it.

"I made you something," Cisco was telling Kara.

"What? Cisco..." said Kara, overwhelmed with gratitude. "What is it?"

"It's an inter-dimensional extrapilator. It creates tiny breaches, so you can use it to crossover to our universe anytime you need to," he explained.

"That's amazing," gasped Kara.

"I also included communication functionality, so if you ever needed any help you can always contact the team," he added.

Mick Rory scooted in between the conversation. His eyes wandered up and down Kara, then he muttered, "Hey, Skirt. Call me."

Kara didn't know what else to do except laugh.

The older Agent from earlier, followed by two suited men, approached the hangar through the opened back door. He was seen first by Nate Heywood, who stomped angrily away from the party to halt them before they got too close.

"Something tells me you weren't invited here," snapped Nate.

"Dr. Heywood," greeted the Agent.

"Don't 'Dr. Heywood' me. What the Hell are you doing here?"

"I like parties, and I'm here for the mop-up."

"'Cover up,'" scoffed Nate. "You can't cover this up."

By then, Kara had approached, beaming with fake enthusiastic attitude. "Agent Smith! It is so funny seeing you here. I was just having the loveliest chat with your president about you. I was telling her, on my Earth, we have a Department of Extranormal Operations, which deals specifically with aliens. She thought it was an excellent idea. She also loved my pitch about reassigning you to Antarctica."

Kara's taunt caused the Agent and his two followers to get the extra clue: they were unwanted. They left the party, storming away and back to where they came.

"Maybe next time, you're a little nicer to strange visitors from another planet!" yelled Kara after them.

"Pack a jacket!" teased Nate.

Barry and Oliver, still holding Melody awkwardly, approached Nate and Kara.

"You ready to see if Cisco's device works?" asked Barry.

Nate tried to pass by Oliver, who threw out his arm to block him. "Take this," he ordered, passing Melody off as quick as possible. Nate shuffled the baby in his arms comfortably and left the farewell with the baby, laughing.

"I'm ready," sighed Kara. "Remember, if you guys need me, i'm just a call away."

"Same here," said Barry.

Kara held up the little disc into the air. A breach appeared. She jumped through, using a bit of her flight to propel her back to Earth-38, back to the home of Supergirl.

The Legends were the next to leave, after they had finished their drinks.

Nate hugged onto Melody for several minutes before he handed her back to Barry. "I look forward to seeing her again," he said brightly.

"I'll see if I can send some pictures through time," said Barry.

"Ray would love that!" said Ray.

"Come on, come on," said Sara, ushering her partners towards the Waverider.

Diggle watched his friend leave. "There she goes, off to her spaceship, time-traveling, as if it's totally normal."

"Well, John, it's like you said. Normal sort of went out the window when this one arrived," said Oliver, nudging his head in Barry's direction.

"I may never understand you, man, but you're one of the best men I know," complimented Diggle.

"Thanks, Dig," said Barry honestly. "Do you forgive me for what I did?"

"It's like I keep telling this guy: you have to forgive yourself."

"Yeah," sighed Barry.

"Good luck, and goodbye to this precious little girl," said Diggle in a childish voice. He shook Melody's hand with a single finger. He ordered Barry to keep her out of trouble, then left the hangar with Felicity.

"Well, we gotta do this more often. Get together, I mean," said Barry.

"I don't know if the world can take it," joked Oliver.

"I meant, like, without the world being threatened," corrected Barry.

"If the world wasn't being threatened, what would we do?"

Barry looked to his baby girl. "So, according to my wife, going to a bar with a baby is frowned upon."

"Never would have guessed."

"You feel like a drink at my place?"

"After you."

Lounging on the bar stools at Barry's island counter, Oliver said, "I'm just saying: next time, I'm gonna get you."

"I beat you twice," said Barry. He watched Melody carefully, as she sat on her seat on the counter and played with the cap of a beer bottle. He ensured it didn't reach her mouth.

"The first time was a tie," disagreed Oliver.

"And the second time?" asked Barry.

"There were no witnesses the second time."

Barry shook his head. "Superspeed arrow duels..."

"Speed Force infected baby," challenged Oliver, tilting his beer in Melody's direction.

"Our lives aren't exactly normal."

"I told Kara I was looking to reclaim some normal," said Oliver thoughtfully, his gaze staring out of the window. "Thinking on it now... I'm not so sure."

"I know what you mean. We both got a look at what life would have looked like normal," explained Barry.

"It would have been happy."

"But not full."

Oliver shook his head. "Not even close."

"To things being happy," cheered Barry, raising his beer.

"To life being full," agreed Oliver, raising his own.

Barry and Oliver's gaze fell to Melody's when she began reaching for a shot glass beside her seat. They watched, amused, as she truly aspired to bend her body to achieve grabbing it.

"Alcoholic already," mused Barry.

"Parker would be proud."

"Well, you're not wrong."
