Closer

Parker anxiously waited for Barry outside of the warehouse.

The four of them lingered outside the warehouse while waiting for the Scarlet Speedster.

Within a blink, the streak in the distance was beside Parker, sweeping her into his arms.

"Hey, everybody," Barry greeted. He turned to Caitlin. "Great to see you're alive and well. I'm sorry you were put in that position."

"We should probably have a discussion on safety," Caitlin suggested.

"Safety sex, you mean," Cisco coughed.

Parker squinted at Cisco. "You're just mad that you can't get any."

"Thank you two for coming here and saving Caitlin and Parker. We appreciate it so very much!" Barry loudly interrupted. He looked down at the girl in his arms and smiled. "Ready?"

Parker tightened her arms around his neck and buried her head into his chest, heaving in air to hold in her lungs.

"Be safe!" Joe shouted at the two, before they were gone, represented by a red blur going the distance.

Parker sighed in relief when Barry set her on top of her bed.

The leather of the suit squeaked as Barry climbed on the bed, sitting on his knees next to her.

Parker reached her hands to his face and pulled down his mask, her hands cupping his cheeks. Her thumbs moved back and forth across the light stubble on his face.

"Why are you smiling?" Barry whispered.

"I just think you look so hot when you have the suit on without the mask."

Barry shook his head, licking his lips to hide his own grin. He didn't look at her as he spoke, but rather at his hands.

"Well, I think that is vital information for this relationship."

He raised his head and flinched as Parker bumped noses with him, giggled, then tilted her head and pecked his lips.

"That's what I have to do to get you to kiss me?" Barry wondered. "Wear the suit maskless?"

Parker held her face in close proximity to his. He felt her eyelashes against his own as she closed her eyelids, looking completely amused.

"It's on the list, yes," she answered cleverly.

She let her lips linger on his for a few moments longer this time, then fell back on the bed. She had one knee bent and Barry secured his elbow on her kneecap, keeping his head up.

"Is it high on the list or low?" he tried.

Parker shrugged. "Not telling. I'm cold, come cuddle."

He did as she said, although the squeaking from the suit threw off the cuddly mood for both Barry and Parker. Cuddling with the suit was stiff and awkward.

At the same time, both sat up.

"That has to go."

"Agreed."

Barry tried not to blush as Parker sang the song I'm Too Sexy while he tore the suit off.

For both of them, the accident at the warehouse was postponing their sleep.

"Parker, I'm sorry you had to go through that."

"Shut up, Barry. I would go through anything to keep what we have going. You continue protecting people, and I will never have to accept an apology for being put in this position. I chose this. And you don't get to apologize for what I've chosen."

The feeling of guilt would always remain in the depths of his stomach, but her honesty would keep him from telling her that.

In the end, he knew she was right. She was always good at making argument points to shut people up.

"Deal. Goodnight, my love."

"Sweet dreams, home biscuit."

The next morning, Parker woke up to an empty bed. The Flash suit was not on the floor anymore.

Parker grabbed the note on her television.

Hi, my love! Iris is moving out today and asked me to help move some heavy boxes. Hurry over so you can say goodbye! (We promise we won't make you lift anything.)

Eddie was shoving a box into the back of the moving truck as Parker exited her cab.

"Hey, Eddie," she called

He turned, wiping the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. His eyes lit up excitedly when he saw Parker.

"Hey! It's good to see you, Park. Iris is inside, if you wanted to see her."

"Yeah, I am here to see her. But I wanted to talk to you as well," Parker confessed.

"Oh?"

"I've been kinda mean to you. When we first met, when you called to ask about Iris, and probably other times that I don't care about. So, I just want to say I'm sorry, and that it won't happen again. Maybe.. We can be--"

Before the rest of the sentence came from her lips, Eddie was hugging her.

"That means so much, Parker. I was so intimidated by Barry and you, and you both have accepted me. It means a lot. I should be the one thanking you!" Eddie said.

Parker would have felt happy by his comment, but most of it was lost after one sentence she was stuck on. Parker held up her hand, giggling just thinking about it.

"You were intimidated? By Barry?" And then, she giggled so hard she was bent over gasping for air.

Eddie was mildly concered until she shot back up, wiping under her eyes.

"Hilarious. I'm going to see Iris."

One foot into the West house, and Parker was tackled into the wall beside the door.

"Iris!" Parker wheezed. "I'm not dead! Calm down!"

Iris patted Parker's face, felt her arms, then embraced her again.

Over her shoulder, Parker mouthed, "S.O.S" to a very amused Joe and Barry.

"Parker, you almost died," Iris said in disbelief.

"Wouldn't be the first time.." Parker mumbled.

Iris accidentally heard her and stepped back, her eyebrows raised for an explanation.

"Uh.. Car crash in oh-eight. Pretty bad," Parker lied. Wanting to get off the topic, and fast, Parker held her arms out to Barry. "Boyfriend! I'm alive!"

Barry hooked his arms around her waist, swinging her around once.

"So, little Iris West is moving out.. Depressing," Parker pouted.

"You missed the goodbyes. Luckily, I just need this," Iris paused and grabbed a framed photo of her and Barry. "And I'm off."

Parker wiggled out of Barry's embrace and skipped out the door, throwing her arm around Iris' shoulders.

"I'm going to be the first one to sleepover, right?" Parker asked.

"Right," Eddie confirmed, sticking his head out of the window. "Maybe even bring Barry!"

Iris and Parker started laughing, leaving Eddie completely confused.

"Babe, no. You'd get kicked out too," Iris explained.

Eddie pouted and rolled up the car window.

As the engine came to life, Iris gave Parker one last hug.

"Be safe. Be smart. My house is open if you two have a fight," Parker offered, squeezing Iris with all her might.

Iris laughed. "Same for you."

Parker waved longingly into the distance as Eddie whisked Iris away. She felt like a parent sending their child off. How lonely that must feel..

Wait. There's a parent inside!

Barry and Joe had plopped down on the couch when Parker shuffled back into the house.

"My baby's gone?" Joe asked.

Parker leaped over the couch and plopped in between the two men. She patted Joe's leg. "For now. Hey, my parents cried when I moved out too. Let it flow."

That made Joe laugh, clearing the tears in his eyes. "You kids want to order some pizza and watch the ball game?"

"Make it pizza's and you're on," Barry challenged.

Pizza and baseball sounded similiar to Heaven for Parker. She took notice of the beer in Joe's hand and tapped it with her fingernail.

"Am I allowed to drink beer in your house?" Parker asked.

"Help yourself," Joe said.

Parker hopped over Barry's long legs, disapearing into the kitchen. She popped the lid on the kitchen island as she passed, tilting her head and taking the first sip.

Barry's eyes went straight to her when she entered the room. Parker pulled the beer from her lips and winked. He smiled.

"Joe, if you ever need someone to eat your food, I'm there." Barry offered.

Parker raised her beer to him and added, "It would stop him from eating my food.."

Barry scoffed when she patted his stomach teasingly.

"I don't know why you moved out in the first place, since you've got a perfectly good room here.." Joe wondered.

"Weren't you supposed to turn it into a gym?" Barry asked.

"We both know I'm not turning it into a gym. Besides, you've got me doing enough running as it is."

Parker and Barry look at one other. A suggestive look met a pondering gaze.

She would miss his company. The split in rent; better cooking; cuddling. Well, Parker would miss Barry.

It had been quite a remarkable month and a half of living together. But who was she to deny him from living with his lonely foster dad?

Parker slipped Barry a low key thumbs up, giving him her official consent.

"You know, it is getting hard for me to hide the zapping in and out from her neighbors.." Barry playfully mused. "I suppose it would make sense for me to move back in.."

"Don't do it on my account," Joe rejected. "Parker and you are happy living together."

Jokingly, she leaned over to Joe. "If we're being honest here.." Her thumb flipped upside down.

Parker's hair snapped in wild directions as her boyfriend zipped out of the house.

In the time it took for her to turn her head to the doorway, Barry had dropped his bags near the stairs.

"Alright, roomie! You order the pizza's, and I'll unpack later."

"Does this mean I inherit Parker too?"

Barry threw himself on the couch and accepted a beer Joe handed him. He shrugged. "Some nights."

"I'll cook for you," Parker bribed.

"You're welcome anytime."

Joe and Parker's beer bottles made light clinks as they tipped the tops together in agreement.

Barry swished the liquid against the inside of his bottle, grinning.

"You know this does nothing to me, right?"

"Just drink it."
