Christmas

"Have yourself a merry little Christmas... Oh, Santa Baby, slip a sable under the tree for me.. All I want for Christmas is you! You, baby.. Rocking around the Christmas tree, have a—"

Barry had been camped out at the door for at least five minutes now, singing parts of all the Christmas songs he could remember. At first it was sweet, then it turned annoying.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Parker shouted, whipping her pillow at the door.

"Singing you awake, beautiful! Did it work?"

"Unfortunately.."

"We're wanted at Joe's by four. Unless you have other plans."

Parker waved her hand. "My family decided to spend Christmas in Hawaii."

"Without you?"

"Without me. I'm poor anyway, it's okay," Parker said with a shrug.

"I'll run you to Hawaii one day. Across the states and over the water!" Barry decided.

"Too early to be planning adventures."

"But, an adventure we will be going on today," Barry confessed, "It is snowing, my dear, that means we're going to build a snowman. Get up."

Parker was bundled up. So much so that only her eyes were visible. She waddled down the steps. Through the flurries of snow, Parker saw Barry's unimpressed stare.

"Really?" Barry asked, "Honey, it's only 27°.."

"Only?!" Parker shouted.

She debated running inside and grabbing more layers. Before she could, Barry took her arm and helped her down the front steps of her apartment, into three feet of white snow. Parker shivered, making Barry roll his eyes.

"Don't be a wimp it's not even that cold," he laughed.

Parker threw her body into his side, knocking him into the snow.

"Who do you think you're calling a wimp?" Parker grumbled.

"You think I'm a wimp? Whoever can stay in the snow the longest loses the title of The Wimp," Barry challenged.

He wiggled his body further into the snow. Parker fell back beside him, crossing her arms over her chest and closing her eyes.

"Oh, you're on, Allen."

It wasn't a surprise when Barry was the first to hop out of the snow.

He leaped up with a loud, "Holy shit, it's cold," and started shaking his body to rid the snow.

Parker yawned, having almost fallen asleep in the warmth of her layers. She pushed herself from the snow and stretched.

"Show off.." Barry muttered.

"Sore loser," she retorted, "Let's get dressed and head to Joe's. It's almost 3:30."

Parker and Barry trudged inside the lobby, shimmying out of their top layers and boots. Their arms were filled with their winter gear as they took the stairs up to her apartment. With exaggerated groans, they threw their wet clothes onto the floor of her apartment. The two went their separate ways to get ready for the Christmas Party.

Parker went with a pair of leggings and a Christmas pullover that said, 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.' She applied light make up and ran her brush through her hair, loosening some of her curls.

"Looking good, Sylas," Barry complimented when they met at the front door.

"You could improve," Parker joked, pushing back a stray hair on his forehead.

========

Parker and Barry's arrival at the West house erupted cheers from the residents. Parker did a little curtsy and Barry did a princess wave, making everyone smile. The two went separate ways, Barry to Iris and Eddie; Parker to Cisco and Joe in the kitchen.

Parker was pouring herself a mug of eggnog. She was close enough to Joe and Cisco to overhear the conversation.

"Hey Joe, I saw something weird last night.." Cisco said.

"Yeah, I saw something too," Joe said with a laugh.

"No, I mean.. When the Flash and the Man in Yellow went full on bumper cars on each other, I was watching the electricity bump off of them— yellow and red electricity. When Barry was a kid, he said he saw red and yellow lightning in his house the night his mother died."

Cisco's explanation made Joe's eyes widen. "Are you saying there were two of them?"

Parker leaned across the kitchen island. She was trying to wrap her head around the idea of twenty-five year old Barry being present the night his mother died when he was eleven. She wanted to say it was impossible.. But that was Barry's thing wasn't it? Nothing was impossible.

"The Man in Yellow may have killed Barry's mother.." Cisco trailed off, biting his lip.

"But there was another speedster there that night," Joe finished.

All that she had heard from Barry about that night, and they never thought about the idea that maybe it wasn't a single speedster. The only speedsters they knew at the time were the Flash and the Man in the Yellow Suit. In the silence between the three, Parker's first prediction occurred.

"Cisco, you don't think Barry could.. I don't know.. Time travel? Could he go fast enough to access whatever it takes to go back in time?"

"He shouldn't be able to," Cisco said, his eyebrows furrowed in thought, "I mean, he's fast, but fast enough to reverse whatever it would take to do that?"

"Right. Ha, it's not Back to the Future. What am I thinking.." Parker chuckled, taking a sip of eggnog to relieve the awkward.

"Daddy!" Iris called, "You gonna put the angel on the tree?"

Parker held her mug tightly in her hand as she followed Cisco into the living room. Her feet absentmindedly carried her to Barry, who held her close to his body. She had her head against his chest, a toothy grin slapped on her face.

She was at complete peace. She was with her Central City family-- the people who had taken her in when she moved there and had proven their care for her.

There was no more thought of the night she almost ceased to exist; only of what she was going to do to ensure that when the scare happened again. She was not going to let herself fall into depression again.

She had learned one major thing in the past year: life should be lived with no regrets. And as she was being held lovingly in Barry Allen's grasp, a thought crossed over her mind. She had yet to tell Barry Allen of her decision.

Parker pulled back from him, her hands sliding up his chest and locking around his neck.

"Yes."

Barry took a second to understand, but when he did, his mouth dropped.

"There's a long-ass story behind my almost death day, but one of the things I got out of it is that this isn't worth it," Parker said, shaking her head, "The game of 'who wants to make the move.' So, I'm doing it. I say yes, Barry Allen. Yes, I will promise to love you as honestly and as long as I can. Yes, I will be your girlfriend."

Barry's mouth dropped. "Holy shit. Holy shit," and he kept repeating it, his face frozen in shock.

"Best Christmas present ever?"Parker wondered.

Barry squeezed her hips, nodding excitedly. "Best goddamn Christmas present ever, Parker Sylas."

A few minutes later, Parker and Barry felt something tickling their heads. Parker looked up, seeing Iris proudly swinging a branch of mistletoe over their heads.

"No," Parker laughed, shaking her head, "I'm not kissing Barry in front of-"

She was cut off as she felt his lips against her nose. Then her cheek. Then her forehead.

Although it wasn't a lip to lip kiss, the fan club seemed to be excited about that. They all gave (overly excited) cheers. Cisco even fell off the couch from shock.

"You're all dorks," Parker announced. She turned her head and winked at Barry, "Especially you, Allen."

All he responded with was another kiss to her forehead.
