Kirishima POV:

"Believe me now pretty boy?"

"Well I was but just hear me out ok. Aizawa is a good guy, he may seem emotionless and insincere, but he means well. Please just think it over with your- the others"

"Wow Kiri you weren't kidding, he's super pretty"

"Shut it Uraraka"

"Kirishima your back from scouting already?"

"Yes sir, I found a mer"

"Really? We have a few here already but it's a shock that you found one so quickly. What does he look like?"

"Uhh, blonde, red eyes, and a black tail with orange/gold highlights. Super pretty- wait I mean-"

"Wow Kiri I didn't peg you for that sorta thinking"

"Nononono that's not what I meant-"

"Mhm sure"

"That's enough, thank you for the information, we're heading out tomorrow."

"Yes sir"

Laying back on my bed, letting the past two days conversations flash through my mind. I sigh

"Whoa bro, you good? What's the sighing about?" Tetsu looks at me, his short antennae twitching slightly,

"I'm ok Tetsu, just exhausted." A yawn punctuates my sentence, talk about timing

"Ok man, you've had a rough few days. Maybe after tomorrow you can take a break and destress, you need it." Tetsu suggests, I nod

"Thanks Tetsu, i'll try"

"Go to sleep ok? Night Kiri"

"G'night" only I don't mean it. I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight. This place is a safe haven for people like me, but I can't help but feel on edge. I guess it's to be expected, I've only been here for two weeks now. When you're new they give you a week to get used to the atmosphere, then you get a job assignment based on your species. Pixies, centaurs, and harpies are scouts, which means we look in the surrounding areas for other creatures to bring back to the safe haven. Previously I've been working with Iida for scouting, but my first solo outing I found someone. I sigh again. Looking over at Tetsu I see his chest rise and fall. I stand up and walk over to his bunk,

"Don't worry about me brother, I'll be back before sunrise." I whisper before I lean down to kiss his forehead, his antennae twitching softly. Then I turn around and take off, flying through the massive hallways and courtyard of the stronghold. Damn it's like a giants castle when I'm small. Fluttering through the biggest courtyard I head towards the aquatic zone, heading towards my friends lake.

"Hey Sero, you up?" I whisper, making sure that I'm quiet enough to not wake him up if he is actually sleeping.

"No"

"Really, because I'm pretty sure sleeping people don't respond." I grin, flashing my abnormally sharp teeth.

"Yeah yeah whatever, ya got me. What's up dude? You're normally asleep at this time."

"Iwentonmyfirstsoloscoutingandfoundsomeone."

"Um, dude. I couldn't understand a word you just said." I take a deep breath

"Yesterday I went scouting by myself for the first time and I found someone." Sero's eyes widen

"No way man? For real?" I nod

"Yeah, a mer too. Apparently he lives with a siren and another ichthyocentaur."

"Wait for real?" He asks,

"Yeah I think so, you might be roommates or something." Sero sighs, his face is pained "what dude? Did I say something wrong" damn I definitely brought up a sore topic,

"No! No you didn't say anything wrong, it's just... nevermind." He trails off,

"Bro, you can't leave me hanging like that. You gotta give me something here."

"Ok ok fine, I used to know another ichthyocentaur."

"What!" I gasp "you know that's like, super unlikely right?" Sero nods in affirmation, used to? Did something happen?

"We were best bros, he was my first friend... we were pretty much inseparable." The way he finished his sentence made shivers go down my spine, something happened.

"What happened to him?" I ask

"We were discovering this river, but he went over the falls... I never saw him again..." I flutter down to sit on Sero's shoulder, and lean over to hug his neck. He reaches two fingers to wrap around me. Careful not to pin my wings.

"I'm so sorry Sero. Can you tell me what he was like?" I ask, causing him to smile softly.

"Sure, he was a total dork about everything. He could talk for hours and not get a cramp in his jaw. He was so dumb, like seriously his brain must have been the size of a seashell or something. Any task that required thinking he could do, but afterwards he went completely braid dead. And yet he could always make me laugh, for an idiot, he had some pretty good jokes..." he goes on to tell a story about something that they did, but I stop paying attention, and just watch his expressions. He looks happy, the happiest he's been in a while. "-And he goes, 'are you shore this is the right lagoon, cuz it smells kinda fishy to me' and when I tell you I lost it I mean it ok?" I laugh, and Sero does too

"He sounds like a great dude."

"He was." He smiles mournfully, then turns to face me. "But enough about that, shouldn't you sleep, you're going on a trip tomorrow right? Rest up so you're fresh for the morning." I sigh nodding

"Ok fine, seeya in the morning Sero"

"Goodnight Kiri"

"Kirishima"

"KIRISHIMA." I blearily open my eyes to a gigantic Uraraka face. I blink slowly and wave. She smiles

"Morning sleepyhead. Are you ready to go find your pretty blondie?" She grins as I groan and smack my forehead.

"For the last time Uraraka, he's not my 'pretty blondie'. Yes he's pretty, yes he's blonde. I'm stating the obvious here. Please leave me alone about it." I complain, she giggles

"Ok fine, but I'm gonna make faces at you the whole time." I groan even louder

"Nooooo that's even worse!" I whine. Aizawa steps into the room,

"Aizawa sir, do you have everything?" Uraraka says turning to the older man,

"Yes, we've got three tanks and you're gonna float them. You do know the proper spells, correct?"

"Yes sir, I've been practicing" she beams

"Good. Let's go." He turns on his heel and strides off towards the exit of the refuge. The refuge itself is an old medieval castle, with wildlife taking over the inside and small lakes and aquatic habitats. It's been remodeled to accommodate all the magical creatures that dwell inside. It's basically a stronghold,

"Kero wait up!" I turn and see Tsu, Uraraka's familiar. She's grown from her frog form and she's almost a complete humanoid. The only thing that stands out is her long tongue, frog-like eyes, and green highlights around her face and slight webbing in between her fingers. According to Uraraka, she's not gonna change anymore, and will stay like this forever.

"What's up Tsu?" Uraraka asks,

"Sorry for holding you all up, but you did ask me to find some of these plants for you this morning. Here you go kero" she hands Uraraka a small drawstring bag.

"Perfect timing, thank you so much Tsu!" Uraraka smiles at the frog girl, who smiles back. Tsu dips her head and hobbles away.

"What's in the bag?" I ask, curiosity getting the better of me

"Oh just energy supplements so I can float these things as long as we need, I ran out of them a few days ago getting some of the Sphinx habitat fixed after the incident of last week." I nod in understanding. Last week Monoma decided to piss someone off, probably Tokoyami. Tokoyami and Shouji are close friends, so Shouji defended him and a whole spat followed that caused a mess in the Sphinx habitat. We keep walking, dawn light starting to seep into the inky sky. The air smells so crisp at dawn for some reason. It's so peaceful out,

"Hey look guys, blondies waiting for us!" Uraraka calls out, snagging our attention towards the blonde sitting on a rock, his scales shimmering in the predawn light. Damn it gay inner monologue you need to be quiet, it's super unmanly of you, get a grip Eijiro. I mentally slap myself back to the living and flash a smile at the blond

"So blondie, you guys decide yet?"

"Yeah, we're gonna check out this shitty place ya got here, wasn't my idea." I turn to see a pale siren with inky purple hair and mustard blonde haired ichthyocentaur rise out of the water. The siren speaks first,

"Hello, my name is Kyoka Jirou. We decided to join for two reasons. First, strength in numbers, we would be safer amongst a group of people like us. Second, you." She finishes, nodding in my direction.

"Uh me?" I ask, what's so special about a pixie?

"Yeah, pixies are pranksters, mischievous, and oddly good judges of character, if you trust these guys as adamantly as Blasty here described, we're in good hands." Huh, I didn't know that. I thought pixies were pretty feminine beings, creatures of elegance and that crap. (For reference, that's fairies, he's mixing them up. Google it if you're confused)

"Yeah man, and I trust Jirou here, so like, we're good! I'm Denki Kaminari by the way." He introduces. I smile at the yellow blond

"I'm Eijiro Kirishima, a pixie. But you all knew that already." I finish, brushing my hand behind my neck in embarrassment. Well that was a dumb thing to say. "Hey Kaminari, we have another Ichthyocentaur at the stronghold, you would get along with him pretty well I think. He needs to be a little more cheerful." I smile at him, watching his eyes grow.

"No way! For real?! It's been so long since I've had a buddy like that. Don't get me wrong, Blasty is great and all, but he tends to scowl and shout when he's trying to be nice." The explosive blonde scowls

"NO I DON'T DUNCE-FACE! I'M BEING MEAN BECAUSE I AM. DON'T TRY AND READ INTO IT EXTRAS!" He shouts, I snicker, which in turn causes him to glare at me. I flash a grin,

"So are you gonna share your name, or are we gonna keep referring to you as explosive blondie?" Uraraka asks, smirking a bit, knowing she's trying to provoke him, and getting his attention off of me. Win-win

"Why should I tell you extras?" He grumbles

"Because we're gonna live with you for the foreseeable future, and I'd like to get to know you and your friends more." I say, smiling with all my pointy teeth. Mostly just you but we can keep that to ourselves for now. He scoffs

"Katsuki Bakugou, now are we gonna go or sit around looking stupid." I smile bigger, this was gonna be so fun!

Ight homies second chapter is over, I hope I did Sero justice, it's kinda hard to understand his personality since he gets no screen time.
