Okay so if you read the Broken wing preview this picks up right after that.

No one's POV:

Both Y/n and Raven stood there facing each other...eyes locked in silence...Y/n's wings shimmered...and Raven's one black wing ruffled a bit....they stared each other down until finally one finally spoke.

Y/n: "No wonder i felt a strange yet familiar coming off you." His wings vanished.

Raven: "So I'm guessing you already know what I have?" Her wing vanished as well.

Y/n: "Yes. A shard of Soul Edge reforged into pendent that grants the wearer the power to combat Soul Edge and match it. Soul Rend."

Raven: "Yes. Helel's failsafe in case anyone of...unpure intentions is deemed worthy by Soul Edge."

Y/n: "Yeah...cause to wield Soul Edge you don't particularly have to be pure of heart or even fundamentally good...hell you could be pure evil and still be deemed worthy. As long as you have that infinite potential...your eligible."

Raven: "Indeed....after your training was done...I was signaled by Helel himself....I never believed the story of Soul Edge or Helel....but...when he came to me himself....well...there wasn't much room for doubt."

Y/n nods but still keeps a stoic expression.

Raven: ".....Soul Rend is...given to the person who is both a reminder of pain and comfort to the wielder of Soul Edge. I am...both a symbol of pain...and to a degree comfort in your life Y/n. Though...I'm fairly certain it's more pain the  comfort."

Y/n: "Sigh....Well Raven...our moments together were...silent and confusing...tense as well but...I can't deny...when it was just you and me...I did feel peace. So yes to a degree you did bring me comfort. Though I never understood it...I still don't now but...I appreciate it." 

Raven smiles weakly.

Raven: "So....with that out the way..."

Y/n: "Yeah......why?"

Raven: "........" Looks away.

Y/n: "Raven don't do that. Listen you signaled me here to speak and finally get things settled out. Come on...please. I NEED the truth."

Raven: "Sigh...Okay Y/n. Listen....I...don't have a good excuse for not helping you more then I did...and no excuse for treating you the way I did when the others were around..."

Y/n: "Yes but why DID you do it?"

Raven: "Sigh....I'm...a coward Y/n. Despite my cold, stern, in charge and tough persona...I'm actually not as brave as I want to believe myself to be...."

Y/n stayed and listened with his stoic look slowly turning into a frown.

Raven: "I just...do what doesn't hurt me...or what doesn't make me lose alot. I have a bad habit of not involving myself out of self preservation. When my backs at the wall I do go all out...but..normally it never comes to that cause I either A, leave it to someone else or B, duck out half way through...."

Y/n: ".........."

Raven: "I talk about strength yet...I don't wield it myself...at least not what I could wield...if i just bite the bullet and started giving everything my all and not half assing it just in case things don't work out..."

Raven: "Sigh...and your case...was no different...I didn't do what I should have cause i was afraid of my life with the others would change so much...and...I didn't want that...you see Y/n...I...was a bandit before I came to Beacon. Both me and Qrow..."

Raven: "But Ozpin gave us a new life. A new purpose. A new start. I was...hesitant to simply change my way of living...back then...it was keep family close, strong live, weak die, no game too small...if things got to heavy...bail out and lay low for a while, and if it means survival...look out for yourself."

Raven: "It wasn't a noble or heroic....or even respectable but it was the way of life I grew up with as a child and kept to heart...it always seemed to work...and things always seemed to be okay..so I kept doing it...but then...Beacon...everything slowly changed..."

Raven: "I met new people...made friends...and Taiyang and Summer...it took a whilefor me to adjust to the student life. Also to this...code of morality that everyone seemed have..."

Raven: "Selflessness....mercy...doing things solely for goods sake, self sacrifice...diplomacy it was all so new to me, but slowly i grew accustom to it...but deep down a good chunk of me still held onto my older self."

Raven: ".........I...never understood why Summer, Taiyang and Qrow did treated you the way they did...I honestly don't. It confused the hell out me. It was so out of character and I....just didn't know what to do or think. I knew it was wrong and I wanted to help you but....sigh...then my past self just kept me back...I didn't want things to change between me and them...they had...become a new found happiness in my life and...I didn't want to destroy or tamper it..."

Raven: "But...I knew I HAD to help you some how..."

Y/n: "So...that's how it started."

Y/n: ".......Sigh....Well though that answer isn't really the best I'm actually happy to finally hear it."

Raven: "Sor-

Y/n: "Don't be sorry. Be better." The boy spoke mirroring Raven's words from the past.

Raven: "Ah...." Her eyes went wide.

Y/n: ".....You know Raven...your rather odd but...in an interesting way. By showing others the truth path...you show it also to yourself. It's like...you teach yourself as you teach others. Learning from your own lessons."

Raven: "Hehe...Ironic isn't it?" She smiled sadly.

Y/n: "A little but that's not important....okay...well two more questions and I can finally give you some honest thoughts."

Raven: "Very well then...what else do you want to know?"

Y/n: "Why did you want me to promise to never forgive you? I...never understood that and it ate at me alot."

Raven: "Sigh....It's because I don't feel like I deserve it. Even if by some sliver of a chance you'd even consider trying to forgive me or move on with me....I would feel worse then I already did, if that were possible. Because I feel like no matter what I say or do nothing will ever be good enough to make amends. So...that's why I asked you never to forgive me."

Y/n: "Hmm....I can understand that. Okay last question."

Raven: "Go on."

Y/n: "Can YOU promise me something?"

Raven seemed confused but nodded.

Y/n: "Stop with this half hearted stuff. No more not acting cause your afraid it will end badly, no more only giving a small percentage of effort or commitment cause you think things might go south and you might get hurt or lose out. No more of it. If you really want to forget your old bandit life and live in the present as Raven then really commit to it. With ALL your heart and energy and no matter WHAT the circumstances or situation when it truly counts Raven......."

Y/n: "Try."

Y/n: "Promise you will ALWAYS....try."

Y/n: "Man was born a mortal being and we all make mistakes it's part of the game. It's up to us whether or not we realize our mistakes and learn from them."

Y/n: "Cause the thing is Raven...the world and it's people aren't going to just wait forever for you."

Y/n: "......I know how grief can feel....pain...suffering....despair....they can all make you feel like everything around you has just...come to a screeching halt...but even so....the world is actually still marching on Raven." 

Y/n: "Even when time seems to stop for you....the world and everyone else still moves on...you know...the world always does come back around....but..."

Y/n: "The same can't be said for the people...cause people tend to move on with their lives and...they have no intention of turning back or waiting up...at least not for a long time."

Y/n: "Much like me. Don't get me wrong Raven. I wanted to just wait for them to change and we could all just move on together but...the day never came...I was just stuck in thus never endless cycle of pain, suffering, self-loathing, sorrow, and...regression. I was utterly paralyzed from moving on with my life...or even taking the first few steps to even start it."

Y/n: "So I moved on without them. I moved forward and I don't plan to turn back...and I waited for them long enough. However...that doesn't mean the world can't come back around for them but...unfortunately I won't be."

Raven: "Because it's far too late for that. They made their choice and....they just have to live with it...much like me..." She looked off.

Y/n: "Yeah...but however Raven...I've actually still been waiting for someone..."

Raven: "Oh? Who? Yang? Ruby?"

Y/n: "You."

Raven: ".......Y/n I-

Y/n: "I know. I know. I know what you made me promise but...that's one promise I'm afraid I can't keep."

Raven gritted her teeth.

Y/n: "Because through your actions to help me....you've shown you were worth waiting for."

Y/n: "So thank you and.......if you'll accept it....I give you my forgiveness...Ra-......Auntie."

Raven: "................Y/n...please...just...make t-

Y/n: "This easy for you? You know...I've made it easy for you back then by always staying quiet and never questioning you. By going along with everything you told me and more. So this time...I ask you to return the favor and make this easy for me."

Raven clenches her fists...but nods.

Y/n: ".....Raven. Let go...and mean REALLY let go. All those thoughts holding you back....keeping you from giving it your all and keeping you anchored in the past...let it all go...and just walk off into the horizon."

Raven: ".....Very well. I will do what you ask of me." Smile.

Y/n: "You shouldn't just do it for me Raven. You should do it for the one's you've come to know...and well...you owe it to yourself cause we both bleed the same...and we've got so much in common."

Raven: "...Yes we do. We really do....hehe...and I've been so blind to see it..."

Y/n: "It's okay. You know now."

Raven: "And you sure about this?"

Y/n: "It'll be slow but....yeah. I'm sure we can get passed this." He put a hand on her shoulder.

Raven smiles and embraces Y/n.

Y/n: "See? There ya go. Your doing it already. You've upgraded from QUIET BOY and a shoulder glance to a warm hug! Aww!" He laughed.

Raven: "Okay Von smartass I get it."

Y/n smiles and hugs back.

Y/n: "......The strength of the pack is the wolf...and strength of the wolf is the pack."

Raven: "You remembered that story?"

Y/n: "Yeah I always did."

Raven: "Hm....good. Now I'll tell you the rest."

Y/n: "There's more?"

Raven: "Indeed. Now listen closely."

Raven: "Wash daily from nose tip to tail tip; drink deeply, but never too deep;And remember the night is for hunting and forget not the day is for sleep."

Raven:" The jackal may follow the tiger, but, cub, when thy whiskers are grown,Remember the wolf is a hunter—go forth and get food of thy own."

 Raven: "Keep peace with the lords of the jungle, the tiger, the panther, the bear;And trouble not Hathi the Silent, and mock not the boar in his lair."

Raven: "When pack meets with pack in the jungle, and neither will go from the trail,Lie down till the leaders have spoken; it may be fair words shall prevail. When ye fight with a wolf of the pack ye must fight him alone and afar,Lest others take part in the quarrel and the pack is diminished by war."

 Y/n: "Ah.....as old..."

Raven: "And as true as the sky."

Y/n: "Yeah....ehehe...that it is." 

Raven: "Sigh...Okay Y/n. With me in the possession of Soul Rend that makes me...kinda of a watcher for you."

Y/n: "To keep an eye on me?"

Raven: "In ways yes." She crossed her arms.

Y/n: "Okay I mean...at this point I'm oddly use to people watching me....sigh...that sounded....worse then I was expecting...." He pinched the bridge of his nose.

Raven: "Indeed it did...well I won't be watching all the time just in certain moments."

Y/n: "Okay doesn't sound too bad."

Raven: "Yeah though give you I doubt I'll ever have to actually fulfill the duty of Soul Rend."

Y/n: "You got that right bub."

Raven: "......So...tonight."

Y/n: "We restart."

Raven: "Tonight...if we walk to together again....this time...THIS time...I'll never turn my back...never look away and always give everything all my heart."

Y/n: "Hehehe...yeah..on this night. I think I'll be able to put this between us to rest."

Raven: "The old scars in our hearts and even our tears....."

Y/n: "And turn them all into a funny story man." Smiles warmly.

Raven: "Heh...here and now..."

Y/n: "We restart from tonight." Puts and arm around her shoulders.  

Raven: "......Hahaha! Restart toniiiight!~" She sung.

Y/n: "Restart toniiiight!~"

Y/n & Raven: "Restart from toniiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!~"

They both stroll through the forest under the moon lit star filled sky singing the night away. With this final flood gate within Y/n heart finally opened...he's true adventure can begin. With the four spirits, his sister, Soul Edge, and a grumpy old Raven at his side. This is where it truly all begun.
