They were able to get Connie, Ymir, Hanji, Moblit and Eren on the third cart. Mikasa and Reiner working together to change the wheels as Levi passed on the new orders to Sasha who wanted to argue back but didn't before riding off towards the walls. Petra and Jean was placing on the cart as well, the two being almost completely useless to them all now. 

Once breaking down the shattered wood that the driver would have sat on to lead the cart, Mikasa helped Armin sit on the edge. Hooking the two horses up to help pull along the cart before Gunther and Eld jumped on the same two horses pulling the cart. 

Mikasa and Levi would be taking the last two horses that were thankfully their own, Mikasa had never been more pleased to see Tea alive and replying to his name. Of course, her own horse a girl called "Pot". Yes, Levi named her horse for her and said now their horses completed each other since he heard something about couple nicknames that complete one another and he did it for their horses. 

Yep, her horse and Levi horse made "Tea-Pot" together ... cute?

Mikasa had to walk away from her horse, couldn't look it in the eyes for a whole week once she found out what Levi named her horse. She's never felt bad for a horse as much as she did for Tea and Pot. Plus, she still haven't explained to Levi was couples nicknames were just yet .. it didn't meant two things forming a name. It meant couples as in two lovers having nicknames that complete each other. It was going to be a long night once she tells him. 

It seemed only five odm gear was left working and they lost a decent amount of gas for their gas tanks. Half a tank in each of their tanks and they just had a couple of blades each as well. Of course Mikasa and Levi was given the most working gear since they'll be defending them the most. Gunther and Eld was given the other two and Reiner given the last one to protect the cart if the other four had to hop back and face a titan. Levi gave Reiner to not leave the cart unless it was life or death otherwise he would be stuck sitting beside Armin on their return to the walls. 

Everything was going so smoothly, so ever smoothly and they were foolish enough to actually hope it would stay that way. 

But than came the titans, Four fifteen meters. 

Levi and Mikasa hopped up first, attacking two of them as Eld and Gunther worked on the third one. Whoever was done would finish the fourth off. Armin staying riding the cart, gaining as much distance as he could between the injured and the titans. He knew the other's could handle it better than anyone else. He knew that Gunther and Eld would end up riding double on Levi and Mikasa horses. 

Everyone would be fine....

Until an abnormal titan came hopping towards them, almost skipping like a school girl on her way home from school. It was a strange sight to see and it was heading straight towards the cart. Eld noticing it first, leaving Gunther to take care of the last fifteen titan alone as he tried to distract the abnormal. 

Mikasa and Levi was looking towards the abnormal, both ready to leap into action but Eld seemed so confident and determined over taking on the abnormal. They had to trust him, trust him to take this one down alone and so they started heading for their own horses. 

Until a cry was heard and an ear piercing scream filled the air, those awake on the cart all turned towards Petra who had screamed over the one who gave out a cry.

Gunther, his body was limped as the titan had crushed his spin within their hands. Biting down on Gunther legs why no air left Gunther anymore.  Levi and Mikasa rushed over without a second thought, shooting their wires up before flying through the air, blades at the ready..

Levi riding down the titan as he steamed up and fell to the ground while Mikasa landed with what was left of Gunther. 

"Shit" Levi hissed under his breath, his hands gripped at his straps on his thigh as he started at Gunther.

"I'm sorry" Was all Mikasa said before she picked up their fallen comrade, heading back towards her horse to ride back to the cart and lay him on top of Marco and Oluo, to burn later inside the walls. 

Levi slowly walked behind, his head low as he swallowed his emotions and slowly booted back up as the captain he needed to be. 

But than the second dying scream making all eyes shot towards the abnormal, all watching as the abnormal ripped Eld arms off like he was nothing but a doll, picking him up once he fell to the group and throwing his arms randomly in the air. Mikasa placed Gunther down, running with Levi as they tried to reach the abnormal but as they shot their wires, the abnormal didn't eat Eld they just popped his head off like it was opening a bottle of wine. Blood splattered in the air, splashing the two as Eld body was thrown towards them. 

But neither gagged over being covered in blood, this had become normal for them and they just tightened their blades once more. Mikasa slicing through the titans fingers, flying before it as a distraction while Levi sliced the nape and avenged his fallen comrade.

Both finally landing and just staring at Eld body, how could they return him to his girlfriend and mother like this ... he wasn't even seen as human anymore but a play toy. But they couldn't just leave him either, they'll have to share the funeral with the others and let them burn together.   

It was a silent ride back, only the horses hoofs hitting the ground and the squeaking of the wheels made a sound. Sometimes titan feet were heard only for Levi and Mikasa to slip away and take it down before returning to the cart. 

It was a long .. silent ride back. 

Seeing the gate was nothing more then a blessing in their eyes and they all quickened their pace before slowing down as the gate wasn't opening. Reiner shooting up the wall to let them know they arrived while Mikasa pulled her horse closer to Levi.

"Will you be okay?" Mikasa whispered, reaching her hand out to his thigh and making him turn to her.

"They were good soldiers, skilled enough to be in my squad and it took their deathly cries to make me notice they were in trouble. If only I stepped in and told them to stand down, they would still be alive" Levi shakily spoke, placing his shaking hand over hers while she shook her head.

"You gave them trust and respect, they would be so proud over their deaths because they knew you had enough faith in them to fight alone. They wanted to prove they could be fine without you having to save them and why they have died, they died with the dignity knowing you had faith in them all this time. Don't let that faith go to waste, they won't accept it if you do" Mikasa replied  softly and sternly, Eld and Gunther both respected Levi and would want nothing more than to die knowing he trust them enough to handle things without him. 

"They were strong, they were one of the best teams and they survived with me this long. I'm not shaken up by their deaths but by knowing you fall into the same boat. Your stronger than anyone will ever see, you've bene with me for so long and I'm scared that the next time I turn to look at you, you'll be stone dead without me even knowing" Levi spoke, his voice broken and rough as he let his fears fill his eyes.

"I promised to never leave you, remember" Mikasa just replied, lifting her free hand to his cheek and giving a soft look as she met with his eyes.

"But you can't keep that promise" Levi weakly said, lowing his gaze.

"Than why don't we enjoy the moments we do have together, the seconds, the minutes, the hours and the days. Let's enjoy every single one together, as just us. Let me be with you until no breath is left in my lungs. Just be with me and I'll be with you" Mikasa smiled sweetly, rubbing her thumb over his bloody upper cheek without any disgust over the blood they were covered in. 

"Mikasa, you are the reason for me to fight, I don't want to protect humanity but YOU. God damn it, I've fallen so deeply in love with you that there isn't any life for me if you ever left my side. So, make a new promise to never every leave my side, to always belong with me as I stay with you" Levi whispered, his voice softer and his eyes more gentle as he brought his hands to her cheeps, cupping them to make her look at him and him alone. 

"I won't ever leave you but I've loved you for so damn long to just give you up now" Mikasa smirked cockily, her gaze warm as the one she loves chuckles. 

"In our next life, I'm never waiting this long to claim you" Levi smirked before leaning closer, closing his eyes as he joint their lips into a sweet kiss. Mikasa eyes fluttering close as she slid her hands to his shoulders before deepening the kiss.

Neither caring over the cart full of people watching, even Eren had finally woke up and just watched the confession. Hanji and Armin silently screaming as they punched their fists in the air to celebrate. Moblit and Jean crying their eyes out like proud parents watching their children finally find their soulmate. Connie and Sasha just hugging up as Christa and Ymir cuddled closer as well. 

"That was the most greatest and the most grosses kisses ever in my life" Levi whispered as he and Mikasa pulled away, a bit of blood dripping between their parted life.

"Yeah, let's leave our next one for after we wash" Mikasa agreed making Levi chuckle while nodding along.

"i mi
