Jean, Armin and Eren couldn't help but watch Mikasa over the past week. 

Something was .. wrong. 

She was barely going to see Levi and than when she close to him .. the air was thick. 

Levi seemed to be ignoring her or flat out refuse to even have anything to do with her. 

It was clearly hurting Mikasa and why she kept trying to speak with the captain or try to secretly visit him, she would return just minutes after in defeat. 

Hanji, Moblit, Erwin and Mike was watching the same thing with Levi. 

They watched at the clear rejection he was giving towards Mikasa being apart of his life. 

The glares he sends her way whenever she speaks his name without saying Captain first.

The dismissal words to get her to leave or harsh orders to keep her away from him. 

Sometimes he just walked away whenever he saw her ahead, locking his office door to stop her from sneaking in and even when he walks past her .. he doesn't notice her like he once did. 

Moblit and Mike had to be pulled back a couple times as they wanted to teach Levi some manners and lessons, neither scared of the punishment or risks over attacking Levi. 

Erwin and Hanji silently thought over the matter, even they weren't enjoying what they were watching though out the past week. 

It was now the eighth day since this all started and Mikasa hasn't even tried speaking or going near Levi anymore, she understood that he mad it clearly obvious he didn't want her in his life anymore. 

She stayed with her friends, mostly Eren and Armin and seemed to have full given up over Levi. She looked defeated and out of faith, it was like she truly were nothing but a soulless doll. 

Reiner, Christa, Marco, Ymir, Sasha and Connie tried acting as they normally did. Trying their best to make it feel like everything was the same and everything would turn out okay but Mikasa still didn't seem to lighten up at all. Jean and Armin talking to one another in secret after lights out, both trying to work out what happened between Mikasa and Levi. Eren would sneak out of the barracks, tapping on the window by Mikasa and Sasha bunk bed before having Mikasa climb out. 

Both of them sneaking away from the barracks before watching the night sky together, neither speaking and just letting their minds go numb as they looked to the stars. It was an escape path for Mikasa, one that Eren knew she needed. 

Just like tonight, they stood in their basic uniform and sat staring at the stars, the moon was only an half moon but it was still pretty to see. A slight breeze in the air making Mikasa unroll her scarf back into it's shawl form and hang over her shoulders. Eren was fine since he had long sleeves and brought along his own jacket.

"The other's are worried about you, I'm worried about you. I know how important Levi is to you and I won't pretend to understand the bond between you both but I can't stand and watch this any longer" Eren spoke, his voice clam but frustrated as he wasn't enjoying the past eight days. He didn't like the fact that Mikasa was getting hurt without any reason from Levi on why. He tried keeping a level head but it's been going on for too long and he won't agree with it anymore. 

"I know and I'm sorry for all this, It wasn't really planned and I had hope if something like this ever happen I would be able to control myself better. I just .. I don't want to lose him. If he's going to hate me than why can't he just say that he hates me, why must he just push me away instead" Mikasa weakly spoke, her voice small and hurt while she pulled her legs to her chest, wrapping her arms around them. 

"No offense since I know you care about him but Levi is a dick" Eren commented, earning a slight laugh from Mikasa.

"He really is an asshole" Mikasa agreed, nodding her head.

"But you love him" Eren sighed, his legs in his hands with his elbow resting on his knee and his chin in the palm of his hand.

Mikasa stayed silent, her eyes growing wide as she snapped her head towards Eren. A blush over her cheeks while he just grinned smugly over being right. He wasn't a true fool and as much as Mikasa or Levi tried hiding it deep down within themselves, he knew love when he saw it .. any form of it. 

"Tell him, he's a coward and won't make the first move. Trust me" Eren grinned goofily, wiggling his eyebrows playful while Mikasa rolled her eyes.

"I think you forget he's an engaged man" Mikasa reminded as she let her gaze fall back to the stars.

"Who says, I mean .. I've never seen a ring on his finger and he's never spoken he was planning to marry anyone. Plus, not many soldiers have mentioned over the captain having a love life. We won't ever know unless we ask and I say, we ask him straight up .. right now in fact" Eren shot back with a determined nod, pushing himself to stand. 

"N-Now, are you trying to get yourself killed!" Mikasa whispered yelled back in panic, pushing herself to quickly stand. 

"I'm feeling brave and I know if I wait to the morning, I'll most likely chicken out. So, come on. My anger over seeing my friend being treated like this is fuelling me up, I might even call him a prick to his face. Now, lets go!" Eren replied with ease, throwing a hand in the air and rather glad his ankle was healed meaning he could storm right over to Levi room and knock on the door since he wasn't brave enough to just walk in. 

"You're going to die and than I'm going to die trying to save you" Mikasa muttered under her breath, following behind Eren knowing she won't be able to stop him. At least she could drag him away before he actually does get killed by Levi or all his courage fades once they reach Levi bedroom door. She had high hopes of Eren changing his mind before either of them see Levi and she'll just drag her friend away pretending this never happen. 

It took them a long ten minutes and Eren was angry muttering the whole time, keeping his fire alit within him and ready to take on Levi. Mikasa just awkwardly following behind, trying her best to stay serious over her friend actions. 

She held the door open for her friend, watching him step in still determined to pick a fight with the captain making Mikasa start to worry a little. He wasn't calming down or slowing down either, she was really hoping that his nerves will kick in as soon as he saw the captain door. 

She carried on following behind, Eren now silent as he got ready to do one of the most stupidest tings he's ever done. 

She wondered if she should try talking him about of it but his mind was focus on the single task he was planning to do. She took a deep breath before walking beside him down the hall. Glancing out the windows as they passed any. Turning the corner before stopping by Levi door. Leaning on the bit of wall beside the door, lifting an eyebrow at Eren who stood before the door, staring at it. 

Shakily lifting his hand, getting ready to knock as thoughts over what he was doing was slowly getting to him. Mikasa raised an eyebrow, wondering if he was actually going through it since he wasn't backing away. 

"Don't" She mouthed as he glanced to her, letting him see the concern in her eyes as she knew it won't end well. 

"We need answers, I can't keep watch this going on any longer" Eren whispered back with a frown, his fists meeting with the wooden door as Mikasa lips parted in pure shock.

He did it ... this crazy bastard actually did it. 

Time passed very slowly for them both, each second feeling like an hour and the silence only made it worse. 

Both sharing a look as a whole minute finally passed and neither heard any movement inside. 

Mikasa pushing away from the wall and reaching for the door handle, twisting it and finding the door to be locked. She glanced to Eren who raised an confused eyebrow since he was sure the captain returned to his room when they were heading to their own barracks earlier. 

Mikasa knocking this time, the sound echoing in the halls before they both stepped back when they heard no reply or anything at all. 

"I know I should be rather thankful for not dying but what the hell is going on?" Eren mumbled out puzzle, Mikasa nodding beside him as she had no clue either.

"This is his room, I've snuck inside enough times to know it is. He should answer since you knocked, he knows I'll never knock meaning he should have answered for you" Mikasa replied back, fiddling with one of the corners of her shawls. 

"Should we get out of here before we do get in trouble, pretend this never happen and try to find a way to fix things in the morning" Eren nervously offered, rubbing the side of his neck as the weight of his actions caught up to him.

"Let's go, want me to check under your bunk and make sure there's no scary captains hiding under" Mikasa teased as she started walking, Eren playfully rolling his eyes.

"I can check under my own bunk bed, anyway .. Armin sleeps on the lower bunk while I got top meaning I won't be the one killed in my sleep" Eren smugly grinned as they started walking back towards the entrance. 

They fell into content and clam silence, walking side by side. Keeping to a simple and steady pace as they walked and used both doors of the entrance and heading back on the path.

"Hey Eren" Mikasa spoke, glancing to the side.

"Yeah?" Eren replied, turning his head towards his friend.

"Thanks" Mikasa muttered out, sliding her hands into her pocket and making her shawl fall back on her shoulders a little.

"No worries, I'll always have my friends back and anyway, I knew you would punch the captain for me if I was ever in your shoes" Eren smiled kindly, placing a comforting hand on Mikasa shoulder and making the shawl fall completely off the shoulder. 

Eren quickly removed his hand, grabbing at the shawl as it started falling from Mikasa other shoulder. He caught it before it ever touched the ground, waving it a little to straighten it out. Stepping round until he was in front of Mikasa and wrapped the shawl back around her, pulling on it to make sure it was around her properly.

"He's one lucky guy and I'm sure he'll learn that rather soon" Eren promised as he looked to his friend, looking to her like she was his baby sister who was going through her first heart break. 

"You really think so, he won't even look at me unless he's glaring at me" Mikasa sighed, lowing her head a little.

"He's a man, he's stupid. Just give him a bit of time and I'm sure everything will make sense soon" Eren replied with a shrug before spinning on the spot and walking once more.

"True, most guys are stupid one way or another when it comes to emotions unless they're born like Armin" Mikasa agreed, Eren laughing over her reply before nodding his head. 

With Levi..

"Another expedition?" Levi replied surprised as he, Mike, Hanji and Erwin stood within Erwin office in a last minute meeting. 

"Yes, the last expedition was research over something that a couple of soldiers spotted. It seems one of those old buildings have crumbled completely and have now fallen, blocking one of our most used routes. Even some escape routes lead through it or around and well, we need to clear the route" Erwin explained with a frown from where he sat behind his desk.

"Clear it but we'll be in titan territory, it's a death wish. Gathering all tools needed, all the man power and all, we'll be pure bait for any titan around" Hanji mumbled back in horror from where she and Mike sat on the sofa.

"Yes, I already know that much but if we don't thank everything we've cleared by now will be for nothing. All those who died and helped make routes for the future generation will have died for nothing. We need to clear it once more, we'll make new squads. Two to work on removing the rubble and the last squad will be on watch, taking down any titans that come towards the site we set up. We'll make up two shifts as well, one shift for the day and one shift for the night. We should be able to clear the path again within a month but I know how dangerous this expedition will be" Erwin replied, holding his hands together as he looked around the room to his three most trusted captains. 

"What aren't you telling us?" Levi asked, leaning against the door with his arms crossed over his chest.

"I'll be sending two of you first with your squads before sending more soldiers after a week. I need you to learn over the area, work out where a soldier would be trapped if they ran from a titan and find where it would be best to set up a camp. Learn over if two squads is enough to bring titans towards you and everything else. After a week, I expect word back from one of the soldiers sent and if all sounds well, half of the survey corps will be sent out to meet with you" Erwin explained with ease, looking to Levi before turning to Hanji.

"But I only have Moblit left in my squad" Hanji commented confused and Mike seemed a little confused over the whole matter as well.  

"You gave me a list of names did you not, I've accepted them all into your squad" Erwin simply answered as Hanji jaw dropped open.

"All of them" Hanji repeated making sure she head right.

"Yes, all of them. I was thinking of moving one of them into Levi squad but with his foul mood I decided against it for now" Erwin sighed, Levi frowned as the other three all stared at him once Erwin mentioned the captain mood lately.

"Not a word or I'll kill you all" Levi warned and the three stayed silent. 

"What is wrong with you, don't you know that you're hurting Mikasa. You've never hurt Mikasa before, not since you decided to try pushing her away after your friends death but she stayed. She's always stayed and now you're just throwing her away" Mike finally snapped, standing up and waving his arms around in frustration as Levi lowered his head.

"I think she's in love" Levi admitted as the other's just blankly stared at him.

"Yeah, no shit. It's clearly she is" Hanji snorted back.

"I saw her with Eren, it seems they're having a secret relationship. I saw them under the tree, cuddled up and clearly being a couple" Levi sighed as he lifted his head, his eyes glazed over and stone cold. 

"Eren? You think she lives Eren?" Erwin asked like Levi with the biggest idiot alive.

"You didn't see them like I did" Levi replied with a tight frown, trying to not let his anger grown. 

"You are the biggest idiot I have ever met and I pulled Connie out of a broken cart wheel because he wanted to see the life of a wheel" Mike deadpanned, running a hand down his face as he couldn't believe what was happening. 

"Wha!" Levi yelped out as he looked to Mike with wide eyes not believing he was called on the same level as Connie.

"Levi, it's clear she loves someone but it's not Eren. She's only loved one person all this time, since before we ever met her. If you can't understand that by now, than just ask her already and I'm rather sure she'll confess their name" Hanji replied with a kind smile, looking to Levi like he was her son and finally growing up. 

"I'm scared of the name she'll give" Levi admitted shyly as the other's jaw dropped open.

"Oh wow, she's gained a new level of respect from me now" Erwin admitted as he just stared at Levi who raised an eyebrow.
