"So, you lived on a farm in the middle of some woods. Did you grow lots of food?, sounds like a waste of food if you grew tons and never shared it to others" Levi spoke as he gripped the old hairbrush he forced Furlan into looking for knowing he'll remember where it was placed before he ever found it. Levi knew not to touch Furlan stuff and in return, Furlan didn't touch his stuff. But this hairbrush was needed and it was either use the hairbrush that belonged to a dead friend to Furlan or let Mikasa go with the comb that none of them thought she deserved such a punishment.

"When harvest came along, my father rented a horse and hooked it over to the wooden cart kept at the back of our cabin. I wasn't allowed to go near the horse and got told to stay inside when my Father and Mother took the left over harvest to the closes town on the other end of the woods. They said I'll be able to come once I was sixteen but for now I had to wait at home for them. It's have we survived winter, by selling our crops" Mikasa answered rather grown up as she stood still, letting Levi brush her hair since he just cleaned up and creamed her injured wrists from the rope, leaving them bandage and told her to not use her arms so much for a bit.

"Hmm, so this would be your first time leaving home. Not the best first visit but at least you're alive, I'm sure your parents would want nothing more" Furlan commented with a friendly smile from where he sat on the sofa, reading a book.

"Mother did want me to live but I'm the reason she was killed because I wouldn't run when she screamed at me too .. She got hurt trying to get me to run" Mikasa weakly spoke, lowing her head and flinching as Levi caught a knot.

"What did you use to grow on the farm?" Levi asked, keeping the mood as calm as he could while he worked against the knots in her hair. He was rather glad his mum use to let him brush her hair when she started getting sick, it was helping him big time now.

"Peas, tomato's, Potato's, Carrots and cabbage. Father and I never liked cabbage so we would secretly pack them into the cart first, leaving one behind for Mother to cook into the meal but that's because her birthday was always after harvest and that would be our present to her. My mother grew some flowers as well and strawberries, they were really sweet and never sour" Mikasa answered, her voice fond and happier as she thought over the food she and her parents grew together.

"That sounds nice" Furlan muttered with a smile, thinking over all the food and how they could just grab some to cook whenever needed.

"Yep, my father says the food always did great when he sold them in the market. He always sold cheaper than the others making him the town favourite seller. He almost never had spares but he always kept some of my mother's strawberries spare and gave them to any of the homeless. It wasn't much but it was something and sometimes, if the harvest was big, he'll pay the homeless to help with the other carts. They would meet him at the edge of the woods before the town and take over pushing with the horses once my father popped out" Mikasa carried on speaking rather proud over her farm food and her father actions as Furlan just smiled.

Levi stayed silent as Mikasa stayed talking over the farm, brushing her hair without another word leaving his lips. Taking notice how Mikasa shoulders tensed before rolling, how her voice seemed more happier than before and how her head dipped to the left away from Furlan view.

He finally finished brushing her hair, not a single knot to be seen or felt and he walked over to the table, placing the brush down. Walking back over to Mikasa and making sure to stand before her. Taking a small breath before looking her over a little better and being proven right over his drifting thoughts. Mikasa was .. crying.

Silent tears falling from her teary eyes while she bit down on her timbering lips making sure a single sob won't escape from her eyes. Her hands tightly gripped part of his shirt making her shoulders tense.

"W-Will I be able to ever see the farm again?" Mikasa weakly cried, meeting with Levi sadden gaze.

"One day, I'll make sure you see it again one day" Levi promised as he stepped forward, brushing some of her lose stands behind her ear to stop them from sticking to her cheek while she cried.

"I-I miss the-them .. wh-why did I have to survive" Mikasa cried, stepping forward and burying her face into Levi shirt making the fourteen year old freeze since it's been a long time since anyone ever expected a hug from him. Since his own mum in fact .. that was .. a long time ago.

Sure, he and Furlan high fived or patted each other back, shoulder, arm and heads but they never actually hugged. He might have Furlan put his arm around his shoulder playfully but never a full hug. It was a silent agreement since they both had different memories from hugs and couldn't let it be spoiled by each other.

"It's going to hurt, for a long time. You'll never fully heal but you won't ever be alone again, you'll find someone new to fill the lonely gap in your heart and you'll do everything to protect them. You're still young, you still have hope in finding a new family and living a happy life. So, for now it's okay to cry, be sad and let your pain out" Levi whispered, carefully and awkwardly wrapping his arms around her shaking body as she cried into his shirt.

"Is that why you're still crying, you're still getting rid of all the pain" Mikasa quietly asked, lifting her teared stained face as her teary eyes stared at him.

Levi froze, his eyes growing wide in shock as he wasn't sure how to answer that. He wasn't crying, he hasn't cried in years and he doesn't hold much hope in crying every again. He's barely shown real emotion since his mum death. He may chuckle or smirk but it was rare for him to give a true smile.

What did Mikasa mean, how was he crying? He didn't feel any tears, he was just numb. No pain, not anymore .. right?

"I got snot on your cravat" Mikasa guilty voice broke through Levi thoughts making the older brother tense before glancing down to her shiny black hair that made a curtain around her face blocking his view to his cravat.

"Don't worry, we can just wash it. Why don't you go wash your face and Levi can throw his snotty cravat into the washing pile. We were planning to wash our dirty clothes tomorrow anyway and we can throw your nightgown in the pile as well" Furlan smiled sweetly as he placed his book down before giving a sweet smile.

Mikasa gave a shy nod before walking back towards the bathroom, using the sink to splash her face and clean herself up a little better leaving Levi to glare towards Furlan.

"YOU can wash the laundry tomorrow while me and Mikasa deal with giving up the old clothes and finding her some new ones" Levi growled slightly, keeping his glare on Furlan while undoing his cravat.

"Yes, Yes. I'll clean away the snot just don't make her feel bad. Sometimes we all need a good cry and it's good she trusted you enough to cry to" Furlan sighed as he rolled his eyes, walking over and taking Levi cravat from him to throw in the laundry basket.

"I won't make her feel bad, I'm not that much of an asshole. But I do have questions of my own, why did she accuse me of crying when she was sobbing her heart out" Levi huffed back as he crossed his arms.

"The heart never lies, Levi. Like it or not but she may be just as good as you, teach her right otherwise I'll whack you with my spoon" Furlan answered with a content smile as Levi raised an eyebrow.

"What makes you so wise, we're the same age" Levi shot back as he crossed his arms while Furlan laughed, entering the kitchen to make them all a nice smoothing cup of tea before bed.

"You won't ever be alone either, I'll always be with you" Mikasa spoke up as she shyly popped her head out from the bathroom, meeting with Levi surprised gaze before rushing into the kitchen to help Furlan.

"Stupid brat, that's my line" Levi muttered to himself, rubbing the back of his neck.

All right, the layout of their single floor house/flat .. however you call it.

Warning, my drawing is crap and should be illegal to be seen since it's that rubbish but please hold through my awful art skills to take note of the lay out.

It's a little blurry but should be readable .. I hope.

I'll add notes of what each number, shape and letter means under neither the photos.

(This one zoomed in a little)

1 - The kitchen, it's curved in the corner of the room. (It holds the basics to a kitchen)

2 - The bathroom, it's small but big enough for them. (Holds a toilet, medium bath and a small sink. Hooks on the back of the door for an old oversize jacket they use as a bathrobe and an old wooden stool sits under the sink where they lay a towel across)

3 - The smaller bedroom. (Soon to be Mikasa bedroom but it can hold two single beds pushed to opposite walls. A bedside table between two beds and a dresser pushed against the same wall that holds the door)

4 - The bigger bedroom that can semi hold three single beds if needed. (It's Levi and Furlan now shared bedroom. They've halved the room completely and made each half their own room. Old worn wardrobes each and bedside tables beside their beds. Even a shared spare wooden chair they keep by the door when one needs it)

X - It's were doors are, the front door is by the badly drawn steps.

A - Wooden book case with two clear shelves that hold the small amount of books they have and other objects they use. Two cupboard doors joint at the bottom, the left half holding three shelves while the right is just an empty box shape.

B - A wooden dresser that holds some of their objects used within the living room. (For example, a sewing kit or something)

C - A wooden chest that holds their ODM gear inside.

D - A wooden chest that holds anything they may need for a job along with anything they collect/stole that's not given out or their share of the money.

Shaded circles - Small round wooden tables (Like bedside tables but round)

Shaded rectangles -  Rectangle tables. One by the sofa is the coffee table and the one between the kitchen and bathroom is the dinner table with four chairs tucked under.

The straight U/C shapes - The big one is the sofa and the four small ones are the comfy end chairs. Two by the sofa and the other two close to their working chests for them to sit on when getting the gear on.
