It was the day after the expedition, the dead was counted and the injured was either treated in the hospital and let out or still laying in a hospital bed to heal better. 

Even Eren was allowed to walk around, his ankle should be much better within a couple days and he didn't need any crutches, he would just have to limp around a little as  he walked. Armin was helping to carry anything that needed to be kept straight for him, mostly the food trays since Eren spilled his food off his tray and cup of water all over someone when he tried walking with his trap and limping. 

Jean was even helping Eren out with a couple of things, mostly to tease eren over needing help and wanting to not be stuck being behind on anything that needed to be done. He did help undo Eren straps.

But for today, they were all given a free day. A day off where they could either stay on the camp or go the towns, of course they had to sign a slip and leave it to whatever captain or squad leader they fell over in case something happened and they had to check what soldiers didn't return yet. 

For Mikasa, she was planned to go to the nearest town for a nice cup of tea. She heard a couple of female soldiers talk about it and apparently the tea café did a decent amount of flavours and were rather nice to drink at. 

She couldn't help but think over Levi, she wanted to ask him before but never found the right timing and wasn't sure if he would be allowed to leave the camp when most soldiers had a day off since he was a captain after all. 

But after speaking with Hanji and learning that Levi had a free day as much as everyone else did, she was going to ask him to join her. 

She felt a little nervous, when she told Eren about her idea, he cheered her on for it and even helped pick out some of her normal uniform clothes. Mostly picking out a dress that belonged to his mother, she gave it to him to pass on to Mikasa as a congratulations of passing her training since both Eren and Armin got gifts as well and Carla remembered Mikasa from their first meeting. Plus, Eren told his mother in their weekly letters that he was friends with Mikasa again and pass on news over the three of them. 

It was a simple dress, a nice light purple with a bit of white added around the collar and pattering down over the centre of her chest. The sleeves ended just past her elbows and had white cuffs with sew on black buttons for decorations. The dress came to her ankles showing her white shocks and black slip on shoes. 

Carla had the dress before she was pregnant with Eren, only using it once and never using it again. But she felt bad for it never being used and planned to give it away to Eren future wife but with his heart set of killing titans, she thought Mikasa might be the closer daughter she'll ever gain and passed it on to her. 

She felt a little strange wearing the dress, it's been some time since she wore one. She did feel rather nice in the dress, Armin held a hand mirror in front of her, stepping back to try and get her whole body in the mirror making them look rather stupid in the guys barracks but the other soldiers who were still inside paid them no attention. Some even complimenting her and wishing her luck over her date. 

Mikasa wasn't sure why the soldiers thought she was going on a date, she never said she was. 

She just wanted to go somewhere nice with Levi, just her and him as they enjoyed a lovely day out drinking tea. Sure, she was dressed as a girl for once but only because Eren said for a simple day out the dress would be perfect and she did feel bad not wearing it when Carla personally gave it to her. 

Sure, Mikasa knew was a date was. It's when two people who like or love each other go out together to a place or on a walk. They get to know one another, find shared interests or try to enjoy the other company. 

She already knew everything over Levi, sure she missed out some of his life in the passed three years but she didn't mind. They talked to one another, they shared their likes already and they knew how to enjoy being in each other company. 

For now, she just wanted to spend the day with Levi without him being pulled along to another soldier flow because they can't figure out the issue or problem themselves.  

Maybe she did look strange, she hasn't worn a dress in years and well .. she was a soldier now. People knew her skills and strength, did she seem creepy wearing a dress. Would Levi feel embarrassed or cringe at the sight of her. 

Maybe she should return to the others, just spend the day with Eren who was stuck resting in the camp. He didn't seem to act strange over her in a dress and just cheered her on for heading out. 

No, he was hyped up to hear all about her day with Levi when they returned. She couldn't disappoint one of her only friends by chickening out and feeling self conscious. 

If she can kill a titan and walk away as it's blood steamed off her uniform than she handle any looks she given why in a dress. 

Giving a determined nod, she carried on towards the main building knowing Levi will be holding up in his office. Her pace quickened as she was going to waste no more time on silly little thoughts. 

This was Levi for god shake, he wouldn't judge her over her style of clothing unless she truly looked awful. He may seem like an asshole but he made other's know where they stood and he was honest for a reason. Lies only hurt and what's the point of a person suffering the shame of looking horrible when they could wear something that made them feel like a princess and look as one as well. 

She gave a greeting nod to Erwin and Mike who were walking out of the building, both dressed in ordinary clothes that suited them. The two just blinking at her before slowly nodding back in their greeting. Watching as she entered the building before turning to each other, discussing what they just saw as they walked onwards. 

She passed Hanji and Moblit who was leaving the captain office, locking the door while she passed on. Giving a wave as Hanji wolf whistle her without any shame, Moblit giving a brother like smile before taking Hanji hand and leading her down the halls to waste no more time on their own day off together. 

Than Mikasa finally reached Levi office, she slowed her pace a little and took a couple of deep breaths. The Tea café leaflet address written on a bit of scrap paper in her hands, crunched a little but still readable. She'll stick it in her bra once she offer's Levi to join us in going. 

She suddenly felt nervous, thinking over the other soldiers in Eren and Armin barracks tease over it being a date or thinking she was and wishing her well. Sure, unlike the girls, the 104th boys had to share barracks with soldiers a year or two older than them but they nice men. They allowed Mikasa to sneak in as long as no one was changing or almost completely naked, they had their own dignity to protect after all. 

"T-This wasn't a date" Mikasa whispered to herself, the other's just got the wrong idea over it all. 

Lifting her free hand to the doorknob, she noticed the door was left open a crack and she wondered if the last soldier who tried bugging Levi just ran out and didn't shut it properly .. it wouldn't be the first or last time someone rushed out of his office. 

But than she heard a laugh ... a cute laugh belong to a women. 

Mikasa froze in place, normally she won't give much care but for some reason she couldn't move. Couldn't speak her presence as she listened to the women .. Petra, speak with Levi as they were on equal footing. She listened in, her mind drifting back to the old rumour that got spoke about still. 

He was engaged, was he not.

Of course he'll want to spend his private time with her, no one would bug the two while he was in his office and anyone foolish to come along on the day off would always knock first. 

Mikasa lowered her head, feeling a slight pain in chest and stepping back. 

She was a fool, thinking she could just carry on being the same as they were when she was still a child. 

He wasn't the same, neither was she. 

He started moving on with his life and she was still clinging to him like an idiot. 

Her frown deepening as she turned away, walking off and not noticing she dropped the slip of paper by the door. Her foots silent and heavy as she left. 

She enjoyed the thought of being alone but she knew better, she was different from always going solo. She had friends now, both reminding her she didn't have to face things alone and sometimes needed to be the one saved instead of always saving others. 

She let her legs take over, mindlessly walking towards her new destination.

To Eren..

He may be an suicidal idiot against titans but he was a decent guy, she was lucky to be his friend. He looked out for those close by and kept an eye out for those around him as well. He might seem like an air head but he would be someone to count on when you needed him at least.

It took a good ten minutes before she reached a tree, noticing him laying under it without much care. His hands behind his head and he used the tree branches as shade from the sun, his shoes left off and by his left leg just kept a little distance away for him to have leg movement without kicking them. Dressed in his famous brown trousers and greenish-yellow tunic that he left untied showing part of his chest for once. After all, he didn't expect to really see anyone and just stayed mostly lazed over his outfit. 

Mikasa didn't speak a word or give much warning over her presence, instead she laid beside him. Her hands resting on her stomach as she crossed one ankle over the other to stop anyone looking up her dress if they did wonder past. Her shoes already slipped off as she reached the three and laid beside her friend. 

Eren stayed silent, enjoying the peace and letting Mikasa enjoy the content moment between them. Sometimes words wasn't always needed straight away and just letting each other relax, to let their minds stay clear and their hearts controlled was the best way to enjoy a day out. 

A couple minutes passed and he finally let his eyes glance towards her, taking in as she looked to the sky between the branches. She seemed completely fine, seemed like a normal girl enjoying mother nature but he knew something wasn't right. He might be a true gentlemen but he knew his friend. 

"Did you two fight" He asked first, letting his eyes wonder back to the leafs above them.

"No" Mikasa.

"Did you ask him" Eren.

"Didn't get the chance" Mikasa.

"Did he ignore you" Eren.

"His eyes didn't even get to see me" Mikasa.

"You ran" Eren.

"I made a choice" Mikasa.

"One you'll regret" Eren.

"Most likely" Mikasa.

"Speak with him" Eren.

"He's with the one he loves, I know better than to take that from him" Mikasa.

"The one he loves?" Eren.

"Yes, they're in his office and she seemed so happy with him. I couldn't bring myself to enter after hearing them, I don't know why" Mikasa.

"And they say I'm the stupid one between us. Mikasa, I think deep down you know why it hurts knowing he loves another" Eren.

"I do?" Mikasa.

"You do. You just haven't had the time to accept such a feeling or learnt to understand it either" Eren.

"Than what do I do now, won't it hurt if I allow an unknown feeling take over me when he's going to have his happy ever after with someone else" Mikasa.

"I bet he doesn't truly love her" Eren.

"Why do you think that?" Mikasa.

"Trust me, he loves something much greater. Someone much greater than any other women or man on this earth. He loves them and it's clear for all to see, he just has to accept it as well" Eren. 

"When did you become so wise" Mikasa sighed, glancing to her friend as she moved her foot a little.

"You gain some talents when growing up beside Armin" Eren bragged, shrugging the best he could. 

"Thank you" Mikasa whispered, a hidden smile on her lips as she was thankful for him.

"Welcome, want a hug" Eren offered as he lipped one hand out from behind his head and hovered it in the air.

"A hug?" Mikasa asked unsure.

"Yep, they cure anything and everything" Eren explained with ease, it's something his mother always taught him.

"I'll take a hug" Mikasa muttered shyly, shuffling closer as Eren placed his arm down, letting her rest her head on his shoulder as he curved his arm around her, both laying cuddled up and relax.

"Guys are confusing, people say that women are unworkable but that's not always true. It's clear to understand what they want, you just have to listen and sadly us guys suck at that. But we suck with feelings as well but once we get a hold of our hearts, we'll be able to make the one we love happy. Just hold out a little longer, I'm sure he'll open his eyes and understand soon" Eren mumbled, his eyes closed as he stayed relax, feeling one of Mikasa hands resting on his stomach and he wondered if this was how lovers acted when they held no fears over the world. 

Neither noticing a new set of eyes on them, a frown on his lips as he his hands scrunched up together. The small bit of scrap paper crumbling in his grip before he walked away, heading towards the training room to let some steam off before he actually hurt someone. 

The two spent the day under the tree, only leaving when going for lunch before returning back to the tree and huddling up. Speaking away with one another and thinking over the future for themselves and the survey corps. Speaking over silly dreams a child and just wasting the day away without any thoughts leading back to the real world. 

Heading back together for dinner in the evening and meeting up with their other friends, Jean and Armin wondering over Mikasa date with her saying it wasn't a date. Eren stepping in before any fights or bad feelings came along and told them that the two of them ended up spending the day together instead. Both having one of the greatest friend dates ever, Mikasa nodding in agreement since she did enjoy the day in the end. 

Hanji and Moblit listening in as they passed the table, both wondering why Mikasa wasn't with Levi when they saw her heading to the captain office. Hanji leading Moblit to the captain table, not caring if her lover didn't hold rank since it was a day off and she was allowing him to personal join us. Levi was glaring towards his food, his fork stabbing the food rather harshly making the two know something happened.

Now I'm a full fledge Rivamika shipper but I do like seeing cute pictures with Eren and Mikasa. They would cherish one another on a different level but they'll try to be secret over it as well. Don't they look cute..
