"Mikasa!" Eren called out with a huge grin, waving his hands in the air as he jumped on the spot trying to catch her attentions as it was time to return back on the grounds from the training woods. 

"Damn, she really is an angel sent to us" Jean dreamily muttered as he walked Mikasa fly in view, flipping a little before joining her wires to the last line of trees and flying low, ready to land. 

"Or the Devil himself, mama was right. The devil a women" Marco added on, no one could reject the thought that Mikasa was breath taking whenever she was on odm gear, she almost looked like she was actually flying. She seemed one with the air, just giving a dance to the sky as she moved through it. 

"Yeah, maybe not say that to her face" Ymir commented as he glanced to the two who gave shy nods. 

"The Survey Corps were really made for Mikasa, she seems a little more freer compared to our training days" Christa smiled sweetly, holding her hands together as Armin nodded in agreement.

"Just think over her movements once we're outside the walls, she'll be as free as she'll ever get" Armin spoke up with a friendly smile, wondering over an outside of the walls Mikasa. 

"Yeah, just with Titans trying to kill her at the same time" Reiner added up with a slight grin, the others giving less excited nods over the thought.

"Nah, I bet the titans wouldn't even get a hand on Mikasa. Once she's out of those walls, she's gone into another realm for sure" Sasha replied as she placed her hands on his hips, taking care not to knock her gear. 

Mikasa landed with ease, walking over to the others without much thought over the matter. They were waiting to be scored and she was the last one to go round in the woods and slicing up titans. They all found it strange they had to go one at a time but they were up against turning wooden titans popping up whenever a soldier decided to pull on the rope. 

They all started taking their odm gear off, placing it a small pile beside them knowing they'll either have to put them on again or return them to the storage room later. They wondered what took their teacher so long with the test scores and went back to chatting to kill some time.

She joined up the group who either smiled or nodded in greeting, her eyes drifting to the sky as she noticed a couple of dark clouds and wondered if it was going to rain for them or elsewhere. She glanced to her right when Eren gave her a playful nudge, laughing over something one of the others said and making sure she wasn't missing out on the fun. 

"MIKASA!"

Mikasa blinked as she heard the voice, glancing to the other's who also froze and looked around before their eyes landing on someone running from the path. Mikasa decided to turn as well, wondering if she forgot someone from the group. But she was met with an overexcited Hanji and a panicked Moblit chasing after her. 

"Ah" Mikasa breathed out, maybe living a simple soldier life and forgetting the past wasn't as easy as she may thought. Not while Hanji was around at least. 

"It really is you, aww look at you .. you've al grown up. You even cut your hair, oh and look .. you lost that cute little pout whenever you weren't around Le-hfm" Hanji started to coo like a doting auntie as she cling to Mikasa, her arms wrapped around as tightly as she could. Moblit coming to a stop behind his captain, bent over with his hands on his knees as he caught his breath but moved in time to cover Hanji mouth before she spoke Levi name. 

"Captain" Mikasa greeted with a nod as Hanji just stared at her, blinking a couple times before turning to look at Moblit who gave an understanding look.

"B-But" Hanji started to whine as Moblit removed his hand, placing his hands on Hanji waste and trying to pull her off Mikasa. 

"She's all grown up and doesn't need you to ruin her second chance. Come on Hanji, let's leave the new recruits alone" Moblit sighed, still yanking on Hanji who frowned, looking at Mikasa with sadden puppy eyes.

"But you're back, we were all worried for you. Why didn't you write at least, you came back meaning we can spoil you again .. right? I always knew you'll gain an interest Titans, you'll come listen to my rants .. won't you?" Hanji muttered like a sulking child who's brother was moving away for collage.

Mikasa looked to Hanji, watching as she gave her best hurt puppy eyes and even having Moblit somehow lift her up and releasing her hold on her. Hanji stayed holding her arms out to Mikasa, wanting to grab her and never let go once more, Moblit clearly struggling in keeping his captain lifted up. 

"You're still Mikasa, right?" Hanji asked desperately, Moblit freezing up and dropping her by mistake as he stared at Mikasa wide eye. He knew it wasn't his or Hanji place to get involve with Mikasa life, he knew Hanji missed Mikasa they all did even if she was a troublesome stubborn child most of the time, they felt like proud aunties or uncles over her. But now, Mikasa was grown up and had to walk her own path, they couldn't keep her trapped in the past. 

Mikasa sighed, kneeling down and meeting with Hanji begging eyes over her still being the girl they kept an eye over in the past. Lifting her hand before placing it on Hanji head and giving a slight pat. 

"Rumour says that Erwin finally allowed you to keep Titan pets. I hope you haven't over worked Moblit, his heart won't keep up with your ways forever. Make sure to have a break, give him a bit of a break as well. Maybe listen to his rambles over something, you always liked hearing him talk when he wasn't worrying over your health" Mikasa whispered, leaving her hand on Hanji head while she kept eye contact.

"Only if you stop sneaking out from bed" Moblit commented with a smile, noticing Hanji brighten over Mikasa words and knowing things would be okay once more. 

Mikasa just nodded, removing her hand from Hanji who was ready to pounce on her once more making Moblit quickly pulling Hanji to stand and keep a grip on her arm. Mikasa wasn't much of a hugger in the past and he was rather sure she still wasn't, he couldn't handle filling in an accident report over Mikasa stabbing his captain over being hugged. 

"Hehe, you're still way more mature for your own good. Learn to live in the moment, enjoy the mum and leave the worrying to a boring adult" Hanji replied with a silly grin, Mikasa just shaking her head over the comment as it was clear the captain would be the end of Moblit poor heart. 

"In other words, why not spread your wings" Levi voice cut through the air and she felt something place over her shoulders. Lifting her hand to the edges of the camp, feeling the wobble of a lose button. Feeling as Levi lifted the hood over her head as shock filled her eyes, turning to him with a rare but true smile, tears in the corner of her eyes as she knew it was her own cape, he kept it all this time. 

Levi met with her gaze, his eyes gentle as he looked to her before glancing away as she stood up. Hanji and Moblit secretly holding hands as they watched with fond smiles over the small moment. 

The rest of the 104th cadets just watching unsure, none of them seeing much since Mikasa back was turned to them but they had  feeling something important was going on. 

"Promise not to laugh" Mikasa asked with a pout as she fiddled with the buttons, a smirk feeling a fondness fill inside of him.

"You better not get snot on my cravat later" Levi shot back as she stepped forward, helping to pop the three holes in the cape through the buttons on her right shoulder. 

"I wasn't the one who needed to cry if I remember rightly" Mikasa replied smugly as Levi chuckled. 

"You really aren't cute, brat" Levi scoffed back, shaking his head a little before looking rather pleased over doing the buttons up.

"Like I always say, we can't both be the cute ones" Mikasa joked, a small smile on her lips as Levi glanced to her.

"Tsk. I really aren't going to be able to get rid of you anytime soon" Levi sighed, placing his hands on his hips as Mikasa pulled down her hood. 

"But than again, maybe that's not so bad" Levi admitted with a fond smile, lifting his hand and ruffling Mikasa hair like no time had passed at all for them. 

Mikasa kept her head lowered, a smile on her lips as Levi removed his hand. Grabbing at Hanji pony tail and pulling her along as he walked away knowing it was best to leave the recruits to their training. 

"I confessed and she feels the same" Moblit gave his answer, he's been waiting a long three years to tell Mikasa the answer over her advice and he was glad to finally say it. Walking off to catch up with the two captains and mostly to try and keep Hanji out of any real trouble. 

Mikasa just nodded, her hand feeling the neck line of the cape. She was feeling the excitement over having it all over again and was ready to stand proud as a soldier. This was the feeling she wanted and waited for, she just didn't expect Levi to be the one to give it to her. But in her eyes, that only made it feel so much better to wear the cape once more.

"He kept it" she thought to herself, her eyes landing on the retreating back of Levi. 

"You know Captain Levi, why didn't you say anything!" Eren broke the silence as his jealous side leaked out. Everyone knew over how much of a big fan he was of the captain and Mikasa knew him all along. This was a betray in his eyes, she had all the juicy stories and never told any.

"What the hell just happened?" Connie asked like an idiot and for once, everyone felt as dumb as him. 

"How do you know Captain Levi and even Captain Hanji .. she's been a soldier for awhile and barely leaves the camp" Sasha asked, nibbling on a bit of bread that no one knew where she had been hiding it before. 

"You don't have to tell us, we know you're careful over speaking about your family" Christa offered with a kind smile, she was curious but she understood keeping family private. Mikasa respected all their wishes over subjects they didn't wish to speak over and it was fair to do the same for her.

"My special someone, the one who took me in and allowed me to stand with them. I lived here with them, Captain Hanji became obsessed with me as a persona project she wanted to figure out. But, it's a need to know only type of thing. A child wasn't allowed to be on camp grounds and so, I lived his unofficially" Mikasa answered, keeping it simple but giving enough for them all to have an understanding over why the camp was important and why she never boasted over knowing some seen hero's. 

"No wonder your a beast when fighting" Reiner joked, not seeing Mikasa any different and gaining more respect over her for living a hidden life while keeping true to herself. 

"I wasn't as trained as you think" Mikasa replied with a shrug, shocking the others.

"You must be kidding, there's no way you could just fight as well as you do without some years of training. The Captains must have looked after you enough to make sure you could fight a little" Marco argued back, not believing Mikasa nice act over her skill level.

"Sure, I was trained a little but almost all my skills are from learning in the moment or learning from when I failed. I wasn't always a good fighter, my special someone taught me the basics and would fight with me as a partner in the mornings but almost everything I learnt by myself. Fighting in the street, dodging attacks from those skilled in fighting or help weapons. Learning my weakness and strengths to better my chances in surviving. I'm still learning" Mikasa explained with ease as the other's just stared at her. 

"Damn, are you sure you're human" Jean asked with a raised eyebrow as Mikasa rolled her eyes.

"I bleed just like anyone else here, I'm a simple human who uses instincts when fighting" Mikasa sighed, placing a hand on her hip.  

"So, did you find out if the rumour was true over Captain Levi?" Armin asked hopeful, his hands held behind his back as he waited for Mikasa answer. 

A frown filling the groups lips as Mikasa tensed, her eyes growing wide before she lowered her head in defeat.

She never asked over the engagement!

"There's always the next time" Armin offered with a weak smile, patting Mikasa arm to try and comfort her. 

"I learnt over the wrong romance" Mikasa grumbled, Eren just placing a pity hand on her shoulder why the other's laughed. 

Damn, she blames Hanji .. it was clearly her fault. 

Why did she have to learn that the crazy titan lover and Moblit were dating before finding out over Levi own rumours ... it wasn't fair!
