The Next Day,

At 11am,

On the open training filed beside the path that leads to the woods..

"Today is the day Mikasa! I'll beat you for once and I'm going to brag about it for the rest of my life" Reiner grinned smugly, getting ready to charge at Mikasa and start a fight. Of course, they were being tested for their hand to hand combat skills but this just meant it was another chance for Reiner to try and take Mikasa down and gain at least one win. 

"She's gonna throw you on your ass" Ymir called back with a smirk, her arms crossed over her chest and ready to watch the show, Dieter standing to the side a little worried and wondering if he should change the partners up if everyone was looking forward to this fight when it was meant to be a friendly one.

"Yeah, we're not even going to put bets on you this time" Connie mumbled back, sliding his hands in his pocket.

"Yeesh, have a little faith" Reiner huffed back as he looked over his shoulder. He knew he didn't stand a chance but they could at least lie to him over it.

"Good luck, I'm sure you'll get close" Christa smiled sweetly, holding her hands  together and trying her best to cheer him up. 

"Hurry up and get your butt kicked so we can eat" Sasha yelled out in a grumps, the dinning hall would be opening between 11:30am-1pm for lunch and since they were doing well over the simple training test, they'll be able to have lunch.

"Come on Reiner, take her down" Eren cheered, throwing his fist in the air since it would be nice for someone to beat Mikasa for once. She was making all of 104th look weak whenever someone was against her.

"Come on Mikasa! Show who's the number one of 104th" Armin grinned, jumping on the spot and throwing his hands in the air.

"Of course Mikasa is going to win this, she's a goddess of war" Jean smirked proudly, crossing his arms over his stomach.

"Come on Reiner, show that she's human and win this!" Marco called out with a bright smile. 

Reiner just chuckling over their classmates mixed feelings before focusing on Mikasa who was ready for him. She gave a nod, her and his jacket left to be held by Armin and Christa to only let their shirts get muddy. It was easier to hide their stained shirts by wearing the jackets but dirty jacket's weren't easy to hide. 

"Well, time to push my luck once more" Reiner grinned, lowing his body a little before running straight towards Mikasa who stayed silent. 

The group stayed silent, exited looks on their faces or holding their breath as they watched. Secretly cheering on Reiner or Mikasa, waiting as Mikasa started to move while Reiner tried using brute strength against her. 

Armin and Jean roaring in cheer as Mikasa flipped Reiner straight over, a grunt leaving the man lips as his back landed on the ground. His wrist held by Mikasa who was ready to bring her knee to his throat if needed but holding back since it was just a playful match. 

"Ow" Reiner groaned in pain, Mikasa letting his arm go and letting it flop down on him.

"Damn, he lost" Eren frowned, kicking at the dirt.

"Mikasa is your friend, shouldn't you be cheering for her?" Christa replied with a raised eyebrow as Eren shrugged.

"No, I understand. I just want to see Mikasa get taken down for once" Marco replied as he placed an understanding hand on Eren shoulder.

"But image if Mikasa ever did get locked down a level .. I'd hate to face that person" Ymir commented making the small group freeze at the thought.

"That would be terrifying" Sasha whispered In fear, the other's nodding in agreement. 

"Yeah, I don't want that day to come" Connie agreed in slight horror. 

"Thanks" Reiner smiled as Mikasa offered him a hand, ready to help him to stand. 

"You've gotten better, if you think a little more than you'll take me down soon. You're relying in brute strength thinking you can just knock me over but if you think about it more, even I have a weakness" Mikasa offered some words of advice. She knew she was strong but she wasn't unstoppable, after all she was only human.

"Damn, Mikasa really is perfect" Jean muttered with a dreamy smile, his eyes starting at Mikasa who tucked some of her short hair behind her ear as a breeze blew by.

"Geeze, just give up already. She's never going to love you, the best you'll ever get is a pity one night stand with her in the future" Armin sighed as he placed his hands on his hips, rolling his eyes over Jean one-sided crush that was more creepy than sweet. 

"A-Armin!" Jean yelped back in shock, snapping his head towards the blonde boy who shrugged.

"It had to be said, it's been three years and all you do is send goo-goo eyes at her. You'll whisper wired compliments at her but you won't actually man up and confess. Either make a move or get over it, otherwise it's just creepy. I mean, do you actually love mikasa for who she is or do you just think she's pretty" Armin shot back as he turned to his head towards Jean who froze in place, the rest of the group staying still and silently listening in. 

Dieter deciding it was a good idea to let them go on break and head off to lunch once the dinning room opened for lunch. Using quick strides over to most of the group and making them all quick to turn to him before saluting. 

"Lunch time, I want everyone back by the woods by 13:00 hours .. understood" Dieter spoke up, his voice clear but friendly, sternness in his eyes showing he'll lose his smile if needed. 

"Yes Sir" They all replied before he gave a nod for them to start walking. He walked along behind them for a bit before walking away and heading to do his own thing for now. He knew the group would be fine and no fights would start making him not have to worry over them. 

The group departed, going separate ways and leaving the awkward air behind them. Eren keeping glancing to his childhood friend, rather impressed he spoke to Jean in such a way. Mikasa staying silent, not daring to be the first to speak and wasn't even sure what to say. She could fight her own battles and she's made it clear to Jean that she didn't see him as a love interest either. She left him to have his small crush on her since he brought no harm and clearly didn't take much of her hints over rejecting him.

But Armin had a point, she did feel like a prize to be won and not loved for who she was. She was complimented over her looks and inhuman strength along with her skills but she just wanted to be see as a person and no one else did. 

She was glad Armin spoke the truth, the hesitation in Jean proved her thoughts over the crush. He liked the thought of her, the look of her but not who she was. She was only a prize to him and it took Armin speaking up to make him take notice he was acting just like everyone else.

"Sorry Mikasa, I didn't mean to speak out like I did. I know you can fight your own battles, I don't see you as weak for not speaking out but I had to. It's not fair on you, to have someone we all trust to keep seeing you as a rare jewel instead of as the person you are. It's not fair on you and I hate that there worse types out there who'll keep seeing you for your beauty not as your soul" Armin spoke up in guilt and anger, lowing his head in shame as he expected Mikasa to be mad at him for what he did.

"Thank you" came Mikasa reply making both Eren and Armin come to a sudden halt why Mikasa carried on walking. 

"Wha" Eren chocked out, jogging to catch up as Armin ran behind him.

"I'm use to being seen as nothing but my looks, I grew use to it. I wish to hate it, I truly do but because of my looks, I was able to meet someone. I would live my whole life just as I have because everything before and after was worth meeting him" Mikasa answered as she lifted her head, looking to the blue sky with a couple of white clouds.

"You know, we may joke over you being inhuman but we know your human. You're something amazing and you're someone we could never be. I'm glad to have you as my friend and no matter what happens, we think you're pretty inside and out" Eren smiled kindly, hooking his and Mikasa arm together as Armin did the same with her other arm.

"We're friends and we're freaks, let's keep being different together" Armin grinned as Mikasa gave a small nod. 

"I have a favour to speak, It may get us in trouble if I fail" Mikasa spoke up, Eren and Armin turning to her surprised before sharing a look.

"Trouble is something I'm great at, let's give it a shot" Eren grinned goofily as Armin nodded in agreement. 

"We've got you covered, just tell us what you need" Armin smiled and Mikasa nodded before speaking over her plan. 

Armin and Eren was shocked at first before nodding in agreement, grins on their lips as this was the first time they'll be helping Mikasa with something important to her. Going over their plan a little better later on. 

But for now, they reached the dinning hall, eating their lunch as the other's joined them at the same table. The sour mood from before gone completely and they were all at peace once more. Speaking as they ate, throwing in some jokes and talking over what the afternoon would bring. They had more odm training tests, this morning they just had to fly through the woods and show they could use the gear just fine while the afternoon would hold standing wooden titans that are left unmoved. They won't become moving targets until tomorrow training.

They moved to a small grass area with a couple trees around. Sitting down and letting their stomachs settle while they still had some time before having to return to training for the afternoon. Mikasa caught Jean staring at her a couple times but he seemed drifted in thought, like he was trying to work something out.

 Mikasa let her own mind start to wonder, her eyes staring at nothing yet almost seeing something she was after but her eyes were in too much of a daze to see it clearly.
