"Where are you going, I ordered you to jump on your horses. We'll be riding threw the towns soon and riding throw the walls gate .. get back on your horse!" Flagon yelled as he noticed Levi walk away from his given horse and walk up towards where Erwin already sat on his horse, Mike and Hanji on their horses behind him. 

"Just have to deal with a stubborn brat first" Levi sighed as he looked over his shoulder to his so called captain who frowned.

"Trust me, It's best to let him go before we run into some real problems" Furlan grinned, Isabel giggling beside him as she already guessed what was happening. 

Levi stayed walking past other soldiers, taking notice most already sat on their horses and ready to parade around the towns before riding out of the walls under Erwin orders. A small group was still hopping onto their horses or dealing with their gear a little. 

He finally reached where Hanji was, Mike turning beside her and wondering why Levi wasn't back where he should be. Moblit just watching unsure from his spot behind Hanji. 

"Get off the horse" Levi ordered as he crossed his arms, staring at Hanji who turned to him confused.

"I don't think you have enough rank to give me orders" Hanji cockily shot back, Erwin looking over his shoulder and wondering what was going on before he took notice of a small detail.

"Mikasa!" Levi sternly spoke her name making the girl that sat with Hanji on her horse, Furlan cape on her with Hanji cape draped over her to hide her better. Her legs between Hanji hiding them a little.

"But" Mikasa started to argue back but Levi just raised an eyebrow. 

"I won't actually take her outside the walls, just to the Shiganshina District. I was going to let her hop off once we reached the town, she wanted to see us off and get a glimpse of the gate itself" Hanji replied like she got busted by her mother over smoking or something. 

"I don't mind her seeing us off, I just don't trust her with you because I know you'll gladly let her escape through the gate and see a titan with you" Levi shot back coldly and not trusting Hanji to actually look after Mikasa.

"I won't actually go near a Titan, I would just look after Hanji horse while she deals with it" Mikasa replied as she rolled her eyes making Levi just step forward. 

"I'll let you ride with me or Furlan to Shiganshina District but you won't be leaving through the gate with us" Levi explained the rules to his offer as he held his hands out to Mikasa, ready to lift her down. 

"Will you at least let me visit Hanji once you return and hear about the titans" Mikasa asked hopeful, swinging her leg over before placing her hands on Levi shoulder ready for him to lift her up.

"We both know you'll just sneak away to speak with her anyway" Levi scoffed and lifted her up before placing her back down on the ground. 

"I won't if you told me about the world outside the walls and thrown in taking me on a spin with the odm gear" Mikasa shot back, sliding her hands in her hand me downs trousers pockets. She wore one of Levi old shirts and her worn old boots. 

"I'll fly you around the woods tomorrow if you behave while I'm gone, I mean it. No fights, no trouble and I'll even make Furlan give you a lift back to the camp when we return" Levi answered as he crossed his arms, noticing a shine in Mikasa eyes.

"Deal" Mikasa smirked, giving a sacrifice nod. 

"Oh man, who else will listen to my Titan rants" Hanji whined like a child over losing Mikasa.

"Stop filling her head with your craziness, I don't mind her learning facts but you're creepy and I don't want you make her wired. We already have Isabel, I don't want another human pet" Levi grumbled back as he glared at Hanji who just guiltily smiled. 

"She shouldn't have the cape, it's for Survey corps soldiers only" Erwin commented with a frown as he took in the state of dress Mikasa was in.

Levi glanced to the commander before rolling his eyes. Turning back to Mikasa and tapping her arms making her lift them in the air. Levi grabbed her red shawl she had tucked on under before pulling it out, placing it over her shoulders making the wings of freedom logo hidden by the shawl.

"There, all sorted. Come on, Flagon been yelling our ears over about leaving soon" Levi muttered, ruffling Mikasa hair.

"When do you think you'll be back?" Mikasa asked as she and Levi started walking.

"No clue but you'll be fine without us for a day, you've last longer without us" Levi commented and Mikasa nodded in agreement. 

Both soon reaching his horse while Flagon rolled his eyes knowing he should have guessed over Mikasa being the problem. He watched as Levi passed her red shawl over to Furlan before undoing her Survey Corps cape now they won't in Erwin sight. Furlan holding her cape as he passed the shawl back to Levi who wrapped it over Mikasa. Isabel watching amused over how easily Levi was changing Mikasa and how well Mikasa stood why he did so. Furlan hopping down and placing his cape back over Mikasa, helping with the three buttons over the shoulder before lifting the hood up making it seem she was one of them. 

Mikasa gave a twirl as Furlan and Levi climbed back on their horses, Isabel whistling at her before laughing. Furlan grinned as Levi lifted Mikasa, sitting her on his horse. 

"That's not allowed" Flagon sighed as he ran a hand throw his hair.

"I'm dropping her off at Shiganshina District where she'll stay until we return, unless you want me to leave her in this camp with just any left over soldiers who guard the camp?" Levi replied as he stared at Flagon who glanced to Mikasa who was already watching him.

"Fine but keep the hood up, it's best if other's don't see her face otherwise they might use her against us later" Flagon mumbled and Mikasa gave a small understanding nod. 

Soon they were all riding out of the camp, keeping a steady and simple pace with the horses and keeping their eyes forward as they rode ahead. Some soldiers turning as they went past towns where their own families or friends were, waving if they saw them before turning back ahead. 

Furlan and Isabel couldn't help the smiles on their faces as they looked around, people lined up either side of the streets and cheering them on. Love ones or friends waving off those they knew and wishing them luck. But most were just cheering on the survey corps and hyping them up to go kill as many titans as they could. 

Mikasa and Levi silently watched but mostly stayed looking ahead as this held no link to them. Mikasa did pat Levi hand as he held his horse reigns, nodding to someone in a wheelchair.

Levi eyes widen as he saw Yan smiling, he was in a wheelchair but he was recovering, clearly resting and a nurse stood behind giving a sweet smile to them. Levi gave a slight nod as Mikasa gave a small wave to Yan while they watched. Furlan and Isabel sharing a bright smile and waving at Yan without any shame making him laugh. 

Within the hour they were stopping in Shiganshina District, the gates before them and Levi was helping Mikasa slide down from his horse. Leaning down and sliding her hood down before he ruffled her hair once more, wanting to comfort her a little and himself. Reminding himself he had a reason to come back, that all three of them were going on the expedition for a reason and once they completed it .. they had someone waiting for them to return to. Mikasa patted Levi knee before stepping back by the crowd, showing she won't try and run out of the gate with them. 

"Don't make me lose you" Mikasa smirked as she looked to the three, reusing Levi words he once spoke to her and showing they were just as important to her as she was to them. 

"We can't die without keeping our promises first, you reminded me of that" Levi answered as he looked to her with gentle eyes.

"Plus, we haven't tasted a freshly grown strawberry yet. Dying without ever tasting one would be too cruel" Isabel grinned, giving Mikasa the peace sign to show they'll be okay.

"And, don't forget .. we have to pick our up lucky charms after this expedition" Furlan smiled sweetly as Mikasa nodding. Levi cravat with the raven sewn on, Furlan handkerchief with the ocean waves sewn on and Isabel waste coat with the white feather sewn on, all three things were left on Furlan bed since they couldn't take anything none uniform with them, 

"See you soon" Mikasa whispered as she gave a shy wave, all three nodding before turning back to look ahead as Erwin raised his arm. 

Mikasa stayed silent, watching as her family ride out as one with the Survey Corps, the last part of their plan to complete the job on their shoulders. She kept her eyes on their backs for as long as she could, even staring once they were out of the gate and it started closing behind them. 

She knew they'll return, they had to return. 

She just had to wait for them. 

"Whoa! How did you get one of their capes?" An excited twelve year old boy asked beside her, his green eyes staring at the survey corps cape she wore. He was a little shorter than her with fair skin. Light brown hair that was slightly messy and he was almost glowing brighter than the sun as she stared at her oversized cape. 

"Eren! Don't get in her face, you'll scare her. Sorry about him, he's in love with the Survey corps and only soldiers get anything with the logo on. I'm Armin, is one the SC your parent or siblings?" Armin yelled out at his friend, slapping his arm a little before turning to Mikasa with a kind smile and becoming friendly to her. He was slight shorter then Mikasa as well and seemed rather weak. He had fair skin and bright blonde hair reaching his shoulders. Baby blue eyes that held knowledge and she couldn't help but think he seemed a much more nervous Furlan. 

"I'm Mikasa and my family is with the Survey Corps. My brother gave me his spare cape since he doesn't like the capes very much, they're going on their first expedition as we speak" Mikasa answered as she looked to the two, not sure how to handle them since she's never had friends close to her age.

"Are you going to wait for them?" Armin asked with a sweet smile, noticing Mikasa seemed uneasy.

"Yeah, they'll be back by tonight at the latest" Mikasa answered and Armin gave a kind nod. 

"Why don't you hang with us by the river. Armin going to read his book and well, do you think you could tell us about the life of a SC soldier life" Eren replied with a huge grin, a hopeful look in his eyes.

"Sure but are you sure you want to hang with me, aren't I strange" Mikasa replied with a slight frown, her eyes looking at the two like they were wired for wanting to hang with her.

"I get bullied a lot and Eren in an angry idiot, we don't get much chances at making friends and well .. I don't think Eren will stop bugging you over the SC" Armin answered with a weak smile.

"Lead the way to the river, I've never been in this town before" Mikasa replied as she looked to the two who smiled before giving a happy nods. 

But as Mikasa enjoyed making friends for the first time, learning over the ocean and life outside of the walls by Armin book while listening to Eren crazy talks over defeating every Titan. 

Life for Levi was going to change right before his eyes and he'll have to face something he'll always remember. 

Mikasa meeting Eren mother as the two boys dragged her to Eren house as the rained started pulling. The three playing at home, more like talking than playing but Mikasa was still having fun. Even thanking Carla, Eren mother, for having her over during the rain. She even got to eat luck with them all and met Armin grandpa when he came to pick up his grandson. 

Mikasa hated the rain in truth, she was kidnapped as it rained and she always fearing losing someone again as it rained. 

The rain brought nothing but pain, it washed you down with the heavens tears and washed away the past before giving a new future once the rain had dried. 

She kept glancing to the window, waiting to hear the gates open and rush back to greet the others, praying they all returned.

But her prays were never granted and soon, she'll have to face losing a second family .. she would learn that only she and Levi was the only ones always left behind.
