Chapter 1

Notes over the Story...

1] This is based on my oneshot story "Us". The first chapter will be the same and than I'll be changing it up a little.

2] Ages have been moved around to fit the story a little better.

3] There are no Titan Shifters within this story, the walls never get attacked or broken down. Annie, Reinner, Bertholdt is somewhere born within one of the three walls .. most likely in small towns or something. But yeah, no one becomes a titan/titan shifter.

4] Historia will stay as Christa because they won't be dealing with her family issues.

5] Marco adn Ymir is alive, along with Mike and Moblit.

6] Hanji and Moblit is secretly dating, I won't make them a big thing but they're dating within the story.

7] I will try and spell Farlan as Furlan .. just no promises over it lasting the whole book.

8] The timelines for when they do stuff within the anime with be messed up as well. Four example I'll be making the 104th join up when they're 13 instead of 12.

She felt cold and empty, the memory of her father limp body that no longer held the charming silly smile he always wore. Her mother limp and unmoving before her, the scent of her blood still in the air instead of the normal flower scent she gave from caring for her flowers. Her parents, the only family she had was now gone and their bodies left in their home.

They had no friends, no other family unless a yearly check up from the doctor counted.

No one to look for her, the soul survivor who would be sold off any day now, she knew what her fate held and she wanted to cry but she just felt too numb to cry anymore.

She was a rare beauty, that's all she kept being told while her wrists became red raw from the old rope tied around them. Her shoulders in pain from being stuck in the same position, forced to keep her arms behind her back thanks to the rope.

Her nightdress dirty and stained, none of it being from her body at least, well not yet anyway.

The toilet break wasn't pleasant, shoved to a bucket and forced to hover over while doing what she needed to do. No wiping making her glad to only need to pee so far but she feared for when she'll really need to go and the looks of the food they shoved down her throat wasn't giving her hope over lasting long without needing to poop.

She was just nine, homed school for ever and knowing the hardship of working on a farm and collecting fire wood from the woods around her family cabin. She cherished her parents as they cherished her, learning the basics over the real world but never having to face the cruelty until now.

She just wanted to home, she wanted to see her father smiling at her before swinging her around the room, only placing her down when her mother told them to behave before dinner. Her mother cooking, it was either good or deadly but they always ate together no matter how it ended up tasting.

She didn't want to live in the real world anymore, she didn't like it and wanted to carry on dreaming.

Days passed, she at least got her arms untied while she was shoved into a small room, locked inside. Only human contact she got was from her kidnappers as they brought her a single meal each day before leaving her all alone trapped inside once more.

She was forcefully awoken from her sleep, her only escape since being taken.

Dully looking to the stranger before her, well, she never knew his name just knew he was a kidnapper and stayed in the doorway as her parents were killed. He was the one to untie her wrists once she was trapped inside the room but that's just so she could feed herself without them having to feed her with a spoon and risk her puking on them after.

Standing after he yanked her up, her nightdress starting to smell and she hated it. Her face emotionless as he tied her wrists together, at least tying them together at her front. Staying silent as he shoved her to get moving and she did. Her bare feet no longer feeling cold, none of her felt cold anymore .. just numb.

She came to a stop, turning her head away as she was finally outside after the long week. Looking to the buildings around her, wondering if she was better inside than outside by the look of the buildings and streets around.

She was in the underground, her father told her over it when her mother was against it. He made sure she learnt about everything and anything he thought she deserved to know. To learn to understand other's better and know they were all just human no matter what.

Was she meant to think of her kidnappers as only human, to bit her lip and let her sadness and anger go over them killing her parents. To never once hate them for the life she'll be forced to live on once sold.

She stumbled forward as she was shoved from behind, tripping over and falling face first to the ground. Just lifting her head and wondering how pathetic she might have looked. Wondering when her so called prince charming or hero would come to save her like the stories her mother read to her before bed. Her father promised she could be the prince herself, save others while being true to herself but one day she'll need her own hero for when she becomes trapped in her life.

Her hero was late, shouldn't he be here already or was she going to turn into the village, a hard past before letting her hate take over. Becoming the village who take another person happiness away before being slayed by a hero or prince.

She was starting to think she would be the evil one soon.

She didn't even notice she was being shoved into a wooden chest placed on the back of a carriage. The lid closing as she laid uncomfortable curled inside, feeling a little sick once they got moving. Closing her eye, begging for her prince to come before she was slayed and awoken as the evil queen.

She banged her head to the side as the carriage started speeding up, the bumps in the road throwing her around a little inside the chest before she made an even louder thud once the carriage came to a sudden halt.

She could hear her kidnappers panicked voices, muffled yells before pained cries. She calmed her breathing, trying her best not to throw up after all the rough riding and she felt a little dizzy.

Hearing new voices head towards the chest, she wondered if she had already arrived to wherever she'll be sold or if she was already secretly sold and now going to be given to her new owner.

Sliding in the chest as two people picked it up before placing it down on the ground, as careful as they could but it was still a little rough on the landing. She stayed laying on her side, still curled up since she was a little bigger than the chest itself.

Lifting her eyes as the lid opened showing someone squatted beside it. She met with dull intimating raven eyes like her own. He was clearly a young teen boy who just stared at her surprised. His skin was snow white and glowed slightly with midnight black hair in an undercut curtain haircut. A little on the short side but he knew how to care for himself, he could fight, the look in his eyes told her that much. He seemed roughly fourteen years old.

"You're not stolen goods" He spoke first, looking her over and taking in the state she was in, his hands on the edge of the chest helping him to keep a bit of balance as he was squatted down.

"I am" She coldly answered, sitting up and noticing another teen were standing not far from the one speaking to her.

"Well, don't you hold yourself high" The one squatted down shot back amused, reaching for his pocket before pulling out a pocket knife.

"It's true, I'm being sold. Are you my new owner or my new kidnappers who'll sell me?" She asked, tilting her head to the side a little as the second teen froze up over her words.

"You're the stolen goods, the one all the rumours spoke over. Your the big money bringing, the one to make anyone rich" The second teen asked as he stepped forward. He was rather tall compared to the other one, fair skin and around fourteen as well. Bright blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. A friendly look on his face showing he was the kinder one but he could clearly defend himself or his friends when needed.

"They wanted my mother, she was rare and really pretty. But they killed her because of me, she wanted me to run but I didn't, she died for nothing. They killed father first, he only went to answer the door thinking it was our doctor. I'm a rare beauty, it's all they told me and they'll be selling me to my master for a great sum .. are you my master?" She mumbled with a frown, looking at the two with her dull but curious eyes. She herself was known for being average height, her skin as pale as the dead. Long silky shining black hair and pretty raven eyes, her parents always told her she'll grow up to be a looker.

"I see, not going to cry for them?" The boy before her asked as he slowly reached for her tied hands, opening his pocket knife to cut the rope.

"I want to" She answered, lowing her head a little and watching him cut the rope, freeing her sour red wrists.

"Do you have any other family, what about your granny or grandpa .. any friends?" The other boy asked with a hopeful smile that soon faded as she shook her head.

"I grew up in the woods, on our happy farm .. I don't have anyone anymore" She answered weakly, the truth hitting her hard.

"Why not stay with us, just until you can chose to live your own life. We can't just leave you in this state or no one will take you" The one before her offered, putting his pocket knife back in his pocket before standing up.

"Like your one to talk" Mikasa huffed back, pushing herself to stand, her bare feet staying in the chest.

The second teen laughed behind his friend, giving a bright smile as he looked to Mikasa and clearly enjoyed her speaking back to his friend.

"I'm Furlan Church, what's your name?" The taller boy spoke with a kind smile, stepping forward and standing beside his friend before offering his hand to her.

"Mikasa Ackerman" Mikasa answered, looking to Furlan hand unsure before reaching for it and shaking it.

"Ackerman, your dad wouldn't have been Kenny by any chance?" The other boy asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Who's Kenny?" Mikasa asked confused making him stare at her before shaking his head.

"It's nothing, don't think over it. I'm Levi Ackerman" the boy spoke, not even offering his hand to her to shake.

"C-Can I go home if you're not here to sell me or keep me?" Mikasa asked hopeful, gripping at her nightdress a little.

"You spoke over losing your only family, I won't let you wonder alone. Come on, you'll be stuck with us until I'm certain you can handle yourself" Levi sighed, turning around and patting his shoulder a little for her to jump on his back.

"Why would you take me if your not going to sell me? I'll only be extra cost?" Mikasa replied like Levi was an idiot making Furlan chuckle, glancing away as Levi sent him a glare.

"Look brat, your either coming with us or going back in that chest and stay smelling worse than road kill. What do you choose?" Levi huffed back, looking over his shoulder at her as she froze slightly before glancing away.

"I'll come, just don't expect me to stay. I've got to stop the farm from wasting away" Mikasa muttered back before hopping on to Levi back, loosely wrapping her arms around his neck while he hooked his arms under each of her leg.

"Well, let's go home" Furlan smiled brightly and started walking ahead, leading the way.

"Is he always this perky?" Mikasa whispered by Levi ear earning him to chuckle.

"Sadly yes but he's more scary if he doesn't smile, trust me" Levi whispered back and Mikasa gave a small nod.
