Chapter 1
A Million Memories Missed

{For Wendy, Five Years Later}

This morning was different, something felt off. A pull to the energy, a sway to the magic. It was abnormal, and it slowly started to feel like the magic was dispersing. And I was too, I was floating away.....

I open my eyes to find myself in a small, shady clearing. The one I hated, the one that haunts me. The stupid mistake I made was here.....

I blink slowly, I'm not used to light. In the place I used to live, there was no light or dark. I called it the twilight, neither light nor dark, neither good nor bad. It was the center of all things, peaceful and lonely.

With a swift movement, I hopped up and looked around.

"Well, I guess... Out of the frying pan and into the fire.... Wait, is that how it goes? Aww, screw it." I developed a habit of talking to myself....

"I'm back bitches!!"

*In the distance, many very confused Fairy Tail mages look up from what they're doing*

I yelled really loud, a gust of wind carrying the sound. With my hands in the air, I jumped around in excitement. "Whoohoo! Guess what? I'm good at chess now! Yes I am!! Take that!"

I stop and glance around, grinning from ear to ear. Over the years, I've realized my grin is extremely mischievous....even though I don't get up to any mischief. But, I grin a lot now! I mean, really, I had to do something to keep myself happy in hell, grinning a lot helps a bit...

I take off running through the woods, and I'm barefoot.....

"DAMNIT!" I stabbed my foot on a twig.

*Again, many confused mages look up*

"THERE'S NO TWIGS IN HELL BUT THERE ARE TWIGS HERE! WHAT'S THE WORLD COMING TO?!"

*Many mages just begin to ignore it*

"WELL {censored} YOU, YOU {censored} {censored} {censored} PIECE OF {censored}! {censored} TWIG!"

*Many mages cover they're ears, Levy, specifically...faints*

I groan and flop to the ground, "I need...medical attention...someone...ugh..."

Once my foot calms down, I continue walking-slowly- through the woods. I'm walking to the guild, if it's still stood for five years that is. If it hasn't.... I don't know what to do if it hasn't.

I finally arrive, and the guild looks as rowdy and bustling as ever. I stride to a window and peek in....wait....

.....they're....

......they're....

.....they haven't aged at all really! 

I let out a squeak and scramble back, "This can't be happening....no....no...."

I had already gotten over the being-sucked-into-a-black-hole thing, but I was moving on the assumption everyone else grew with me. But they didn't! They didn't!

I run away, only to trip on something. I look up from my fallen position to see what I tripped over: a grave. A grave.... It's my grave....

I smile sadly and sit up. Fresh flowers fill the empty looking area and I pick them up. I sit by my grave and touch my name. "My name is Wendy Marvell, I am eighteen years old, I am the Sky Maiden, the Sky Dragon Slayer and a member of Fairy Tail. I am brave, I am smart and I am beautiful to myself, so I will get through this." I used to repeat this to myself, everyday, and I will continue to do so in any situation.

"Hey you!" I look up to see Gray running towards me, and I quickly take off in the other direction, towards the town. I speed ahead of him and lose him in a crowd.

I walk around aimlessly for a bit, lost in thoughts. What should I do now...? 

I look up to avoid running into a wall, and see Natsu and Gajeel. Both look pissed at the guy in front of them. He's a member of Twilight Ogre I believe.... They used to try to get into fights, when I was here...

He seems to be talking, so I move closer..

"-Wendy Marvell disappeared a whole year ago! How do you know she's dead? She probably just betrayed your pathetic family-" A blast of cold, sharp air sends him flying into the wall. I don't even realize I did it until it's done, but I'd do it again. Both Gajeel's and Natsu's gazes fly towards me. I look at the guy on the ground.

"I'll have you know, she'd never do that." I spin on my heel and march away, quick and graceful as air....until I trip, and fall flat on my face. My clumsiness never went away...

"DAMNIT!"

Natsu and Gajeel help me up, frowning at me slightly. After all, I probably do resemble someone they used to know... It's inevitable that they realize who I am. Although I do look different... Lighter hair from no sunlight, as well as pale skin, darker, piercing eyes that can see in the dark, and of course, I'm eighteen now.

"How do you know Wendy?" Natsu asks.

"I know her very personally actually."

I walk away slowly, I feel bad for them, but....

"You use her magic, ya' know!"

It's inevitable, so I turn around to look the two in the eye. "Yeah I know. Natsu Dragneel, Fairy Tail's Salamander, partnered with Happy, an exceed and Lucy Heartfilia, a celestial spirit wizard. Gajeel Redfox, Fairy Tail's Iron Dragon Slayer, partnered with Pantherlily, an exceed from Edolas. Actually, all exceeds are from Edolas, if I'm correct, which I know I am." They're eyes widen as I speak.

"Juvia Lockser is a Water Mage, and a powerful one at that. Her body is practically made of water. She's also a creepy stalker for Gray Fullbuster, an Ice Make Mage, and is horrible at making cake. Speaking of cake, Erza Scarlet is absolutely obsessed with strawberry cake, and will kill anyone who touches her slice. Gajeel, you like to sing. Mirajane Strauss has three powerful demon forms, and her blood has demon particles. Juvia and Gajeel used to be from Phantom Lord, a dark-ish guild. Erza may have a crush on her childhood friend, Jellal. Who, for a while, was on the wizard council and was very, very bad news."

"If I can still assume it, I believe Natsu has a crush on Lucy while Gajeel has a crush on Levy. Levy and Lucy are best friends, and Levy's been promised she can read Lucy's novel first..." I stop when I see their expressions.

"Need I go on?"

"WENDY?!"

"Natsu, Gajeel...miss me?"

She's also got a dark side.

Anyways, who should I ship Wendy with now? She's the same age as everyone...
