Chapter 48 | Liability

Bellamy's POV

On a Sunday afternoon it was unusual for Blake not to answer my calls or text back. Thinking she might be ignoring me because she was studying, I took my shirt off and took multiple pictures while flexing. She was bound to reply any second now. But as time ticked away I got nothing.

Feeling frustrated, I decided to call her once again and finally she answered at the third ring.

"Babe, are mad at me?" I asked before she could say anything.

"There's a car waiting for you down the street. Try anything and she dies." A squeaky voice threatened and the line went dead before I could reply.

I didn't know what to think. Was this seem plan the girls came up with? Surely Blake wouldn't find humor in this and why would she even pair up with Mandy for this?

I shrugged off the thoughts and grabbed my shirt and jacket as I made my way outside. A black van waited on the side and I cursed when I realized we were indeed in deep shit.

Four men jumped at me out of nowhere and I struggled to escape. I left my gun at home and I really regretted that decision.

A blew a punch but earned three in return. My head hit the metallic frame of the van and in my dizziness they threw me inside the van, taping my hands and feet together and drove off.

My shouting was muffled when another one of the men dressed in dirty clothing wrapped tape around my mouth. After a long while, I realized there was no use of struggling around. I had to wait and I could only wonder what was happening with Blake.

The men kept their mouth shut as I was dragged out of the van and into some building. As I was taken to East wing, I could hear the faint cries of my girlfriend from the west. My heart clenched and I used as much force as I had to try and free myself but nothing was working. I was the greatest douche there ever could be. After months of being in a gang I fell for this stupid trap.

I felt a sharp kick to my back and I rolled into another room. The door closed behind me and I straightened up to see a blonde standing by the window.

"It was smart of you to follow the rules. I was hoping you screwed up so I could watch Blake suffer a little more." Mandy smiled wickedly as she looked at me. "Not that she isn't already."

I cussed and kicked but I was fucking taped up and nothing worked. I could only watch what the fuck the she devil was doing.

She crept closer to me, her heels clicked and I wanted to rip her apart.

"You must be so confused right now." She stated. "Let me end that for you."

She pulled out the only chair that there was in the dark room and sat down facing me. Only a small amount of light entered through the window. The floor was dusty and the building looked old and abandoned.

She fiddled her the hem of her skirt and as she thought about what she was going to say. "Justice," she mumbled. "I want fucking justice for what that's bitches father did to mine!" I was taken aback but her sudden outburst. She turned to the window and was breathing heavily.

"My dad was living a fucking perfect life until that bitches' took away our business and money!" She turned to me. "And he fucking escaped before we could do anything! He stole everything from us! We were supposed to have the biggest business in the city! And if we had our money, my dad could've been operated on time! He spent years away from me and mom just to get what was his back but he fucking couldn't! Because of those fucking thieves!"

Her rant gave me a piece to the puzzle I had been trying to solve, Jane's dad and Mandy's had a feud and he was in fact threatening Jane's dad, David.

But I knew one thing from Keith, that David's new business kicked off pretty well and he moved away trying to expand it further, unless he didn't. Maybe he was forced to leave but I couldn't be sure, her parents divorced during that time.

"Are you even fucking listening to me?" Mandy broke me from my trance and I came face to face with her angry face. "I'm going to beat that bitch until she gives me all my money! And I have help." She said. "I have lots of help."

I managed open up the tape around my hands and I quickly freed them and pulled the other type off my lips.

Mandy jumped from her seat and too several steps back. "Somebody get in here he's free!" She screamed.

"You're going to fucking pay for this, bitch!" I threatened her as two men from before ran inside the room and pinned me down once again. "What the fuck is going on in here!" I yelled.

"Can't you see? I'm taking revenge! Revenge for anything those hypocrites did! I'm making Blake suffer. It's what she deserves and it's the only thing she'll get." Mandy said.

"You're fucking delusional. Jane didn't do shit to you so just leave her alone! How do you know if any of this is true you've been living with your uncle ever since and you've been friends with Brianna since you were kids! If everyone's a hypocrite it's you." I told her.

She laughed grimly at me. "Doesn't matter. I've been playing this game for a long time Bel. I've kept my enemies close and they haven't suspected shit." She walked towards me stopped inches away from me. I wanted to push her away but the two men holding me tightened their grip.  "And maybe I wouldn't be so pissed if she didn't steal you from me but anyways, that won't be a probably anymore. Once the money is transfered and Blake is dead, I'll be there for you, like I've always been."

"Fuck off, you're a coward! You couldn't even punch her back on your own. Just let her go Mandy, you don't need to do this." I tried to reason with the psychotic bitch. I heavily debating on whether not it was okay to attack her.

She shook her head at me. "Don't worry, I'm not getting my hands dirty. Your friend, Trace, he's going to do it for me."

"So you're working for that pimp now?" I was losing my mind even more now. "If he even dares to touch Blake, I'll kill that bastard and I'll finish you too!"

"But he's already doing it." She laughed. "I just wanted to add the cherry on top of our plan. I want you to give us the money. Doesn't matter how, I just don't want our names popping up anywhere."

"That's fucking ridiculous. You know I won't do shit for you!" I spat.

"Trace is trying some sort of shock therapy on her right now. I'm sure you must have heard their session when you came. I wonder how much longer she'll last." Mandy pouted and fiddled with her nails.

"Don't do this Mandy. I'll give you money if that's—"

"Oh, are you telling me you have 50.2 million dollars lying around just like Blake does? She doesn't even need it. That spoiled bitch has everything! We're the ones suffering!" She yelled.

I huffed out a breath managed to punch one of the men holding me. I jabbed my elbow into the others stomach and pushed him out of my way. Mandy was screaming as I fought the two men, leaving them unconscious. Then I turned to the bitch who stood in the doorway. She tried to run but I caught hold of her wrist. All I saw was red. I was enraged and I was on the verge of tipping over humanity.

"Hurt me and she's dead." Mandy said through gritted teeth.

"It doesn't have to be like this. Trace is manipulating you to get what he wants! You really think he'll give you a penny?" I asked.

"I trust him and it's best if you comply too. I don't want to hurt you Bellamy." She touched my cheek as she tilted her head, coaxing me and failing as I pushed her hand away. "You have a week to do it. Get the money and deliver it to me."

This plan was completely ridiculous. How could I steal money from my own girlfriend? Why the fuck would I want to destroy the one person I love?

"Please, help me. We can go to college together. We can build a life together, Bellamy. It'll be problem free. You wouldn't have to work for your father and you wouldn't have kill people anymore. You deserve this Bellamy and I'm ready to give you so much more." She whispered to me.

I didn't realize how close she was to me. Her eyes bore into mine. I quickly blinked and moved back.

"I need more time." I said.

"You have a week." She replied.

"I need more. Till the end of summer."

"That's too long, you have a week."

"Mandy, I can't do it that fast. You don't get it. Give me time, till graduation. I'll get you all the money." I told her.

She studied my face and I could tell she debated about it but I kept my stance.

"Fine, but we'll do this my way and remember, not a word to Blake." She told.

I was glad that I bought some time but how I would get Jane out of this mess by that time, I had no idea.

After another twenty minutes of listening to Mandy's new plan it would be very had to do things unnoticed. She wouldn't tell me what her ordeal was with Trace and I couldn't find out his agenda. He was clearly playing me when we encountered each other a few times.

Mandy had been at this for a lifetime and it finally made sense why she blackmailed Brianna into being her friend again. She had all the information on Jane that she needed.

After the deal was made and she threatened me enough, I was free to go. I ran down the hallway, trying to remember where the screaming was coming from. Luckily I ran into Jane who was running towards the exit.

"Jane!" I called out her. She turned towards me and ran into my arms. Holding my tightly.

"Bellamy, I— They...they're gone." I hugged her tighter as I realized what she meant. The building was empty. I saw Mandy creeping towards the exit from the corner of my eyes. She held a finger to her lips and I watched her leave.

"How did you find me?" Jane raised her head and looked at me.

A feeling of guilt washed over me and I couldn't meet her eyes, not when. I was betraying her. "They hurt you," I said, ignoring her question. I looked at her but I couldn't see anything. "What did they do?"

"It's over now. I promised you I'd be strong. Let just get out of here, please." She replied.

I grabbed her waist and we walked outside. The sun started to set now and there was a bit of cold wind. I draped my jacket over her shoulders and searched my pockets for my phone but then I remembered one if the men took it from me earlier.

"Where's your car?" Jane asked as we walked down the road.

"I didn't use it." I told her and fastened my pace. "Walk faster." I prompted her. I was losing my mind knowing we were being watched. I grabbed Jane's wrist instead, making her walk faster.

"Slow down. I can't walk that fast!" She protected.

I came to an abrupt stop and faced her. "Why? What the fuck did they do to Jane? Where did that pimp hurt you?" I demanded.

She flinched and closed her eyes briefly. "It's not like that." She said. I knew she wasn't telling me what I wanted to know. Did they really try to electrocute her?

"I'm not ready to lose you Jane. Not now, not ever. I love you." I told her and kissed her lips.

How could Mandy even think that I would want to be with her?

I pulled Jane closer to me and trapped her between the glass of a store and my chest. I kissed her slowly yet passionately then moved to her cheeks and the rest of her face. Her giggles encouraged me even more.

"Stop, stop, stop!" She pleaded as I kissed her forehead and nose. "I hate your sloppy grandma kisses!" She exclaimed.

I moved my head back and raised my brow at her, "Love, you love them." I corrected her.

She rolled her eyes at me. "I only love you," she said with sincerity. Her gorgeous smile broke out on her face. "Thanks for being here for me." She placed her palms felt against my chest.

I held her hands in mine.

"This is going to end. I promise you that." I told her. I would do anything to kept this promise. I would do anything to keep her safe and happy.

She smiled and kissed my hands. "Thank you."

"Now I need to know everything that happened. From the start, how you lost your phone and how you ended up in there." I told her.

She sighed and nodded her head. "And after that you'll be explaining." She said.

We moved away from the wall and began walking down the road but I just wasn't liking the distance between us. I turned to her as she kept going straight. A smirk found its way to my face as I wondered what her reaction would be at what I was going to do next. I quickly put my hands arms her waist as she yelped, I picked her up. She laughed and slapped my back lightly as she wrapped her legs around my waist and arms around my neck.

"Damn you, Bellamy." She said and kissed my cheek.

I bent down real quick, as if I were going to fall and she let out another scream and held me even tighter. Just the way I wanted her to. I straightened up and walked down the street. Loving the way I had Jane hugging my body.
